What do their clothes symbolize: Lena was just a young viscet when her mother died. Her mother had a tumor that had ultimately spread too far too fast, leaving Lena and her younger brother, Kane, orphan less. Lena had to work hard to provide the food, shelter, and safety necessary for her and her younger sibling to survive. At her age, most viscets would have been frolicking in the woods, or chasing fish in streams. But, for her brother's sake, Lena pushed through the adversity of losing their mother. Lena cared for her brother for years until he matured and started to take over catching food and keeping them safe, as he was larger and stronger. One day, her brother found a rusted headset in an old ruin. He cleaned it in the stream and gifted it to his older sister. It represented that she was his guardian and even though he now provided for them, that he gave her his fullest gratitude. The headset represents Lena stepping in as a motherly figure when the two viscets both lost theirs. Although Lena now doesn't have to single-handily be responsible for her whole family, she has the freedom to live her own life and the collar represents that she feels like a queen. She started at the bottom, a young orphan struggling to get enough for her and her brother, to now live lavishly without the help of others. Everything they have, they have because of Lena, and her collar reminds of her of how hard they have had to work. Lena wears this apparel every day to show and prove to those who doubted them, that they managed to overcome their struggles and become successful. The feathers on her collar are from a rare and cherished bird. They are said to be able to fly and touch heaven. Lena and her brother gathered the feathers to remind them of their mom, who cherished them so much. They allow Lena and her brother to still feel connected to their mom. wc- 333

Sisterly Advice
It had been a hard week. Food was scarce, and water was drying out. It seemed wherever they went, a dry spell followed. Kane found it hard to stay positive. How Lena could manage, he had no clue. He could barely keep his head above the water it seemed, and Lena, who was catching all their food, still kept a light bubbly attitude. As the week dragged on, meals seemed to become sparse and spread out. The last straw was when a rabbit darted away, just a claw length away. Kane growled at the floor and turned around, heading to clearing where they were staying for the night. He felt hopeless and angry. He often did. What could the world have against them, two young orphans who would do anything for a morsel of food. There were viscets who did terrible things, and had their successes handed to them on a platter.
Lena walked in and sat next to him.
" I know you think it's unfair."
Kane nodded and turned away in annoyance. He was not in the mood for another speech from his sister. He already felt useless enough.
" Our obstacles are large, but our comebacks will be huge. No one believes in us, so we need to believe in ourselves. When we finally become successful, they will look up to us, so keep your chin up. We will get there, and we cannot let a small set back keep keep us from becoming our best selves.''
Kane took the advice to heart, and both viscets soon became everything they imagined they would be. Kane would always come to his sister for advice, and she became the mother figure he never had. His sister became his rock, and they soon became a powerful pair of viscets. wc- 297
