Leu has always thought of herself as a loner.
Growing up she really only had her dad to look to after her mother left. She learned to not depend too closely on people that day. Over the years she continued to learn, many being through education, or life lessons. She was suggested once by her father to learn one new thing a day, "It could be anything from how many stars are in a constellation to a recipe for something delicious!" Starting from age fourteen she did just that. Keeping a journal where Leu wrote her findings along the lonely path to adulthood.
---------------------------------
Sitting alone high above the ring it was almost midnight and Leu for once found herself stumped. It had been a busy day so she hadn't had the chance to quiz any of the spectators for interesting facts, and her learning for the day suffered for it. Thinking of the year she did her best to find something she hadn't noticed before, if it was just realized technically she would have learned it today right? Hopeful with her realization she spotted a balloon tied to one of the stadium chairs and laughed at a resurfacing memory.

The tent was stuffy as she entered, and the large pile of assorted cloths in her arms didn't help "Beppi what in the world did you need these for anyway?" The excitable kalon in front of her took the pile with surprising ease "Ah! Thanks Leuleu~" placing them with another equally huge pile her curiosity raised. "These are for Zaca! His birthdays soon and I knooowww he loves to make his trinkets with colorful cloth strips!! Sooooo, why not give him a years supply?!" Beppi's grin stretched across his face as Leu just shook her head at the kids antics.
Zaca would find his caravan latter filled floor to roof with the cloth, and Leu remembered from then on out that their clown never did things without going all out.
...
The balloon had also reminded her of one among the hot air variety. A memory that wasn't very long ago in the slightest. One that made her cheeks burn at just the thought of.
Love was an interesting emotion for sure, but a very confusing and scary one.
Terry was just her partner among the trapeze but maybe he could be more?
"Hey Leu. You good up there?" Shaking away those thoughts her eyes landed on Leo and his alpacas. "Oh, yes I'm alright!" waving she adjusted the rope to lower her swing, "Thats good. I was just walking Sir and Cotton for a bit. Would you like to join me?"
"Sure."
Although her journal for now laid forgotten the secret surprise party Leo was leading her towards would change her mind on just how much of a loner she was. Without realizing it the troupe had become something like a second family to Leu.
One she knew wouldn't leave her.
