She swept at the concrete floor, a light dust billowed in the glow of the sun through the green house windows, casting a glittering smoke effect over her vision for a moment. After a sneeze or two, she continued on, towards the door that joined the outside world, and watched the salad mix of petals and leaves disappear in the wind. To keep them from coming back inside with the growing wind, she closed the door, and went back to find yet another pile to clean up. The new pile was a bit more of a deeper clean, but also one she took more care of than the last. Looking about for the shop owner, she swept towards the door, only to lift the fallen flowers from the pile, and abandon her broom by the door. Clutching the flowers in her hands, she stepped outside, and waited a while, until a little girl came around the corner, eyeing the flowers in the window of the shop, Whina cleared her throat, and wondered towards her, slipping a flower into the girl’s hair and behind one of her ears. The girl startled a tad, whipping her head quickly towards the meek creature, her hand flying up to the flower and gently brushing the chilled petals, Whina smiled, and watched the girl shy away a little before a smile slipped over her lips and she thanked the kind heart for her sweet gesture, skipping off once again. Whina watched her leave, but startled soon there after as her name was called sharply by the deep voice of her father behind her, she turned towards him sheepishly, and he sighed, unable to be upset with his daughter despite having told her many times over that it was improper to offer people things such as loose or dying flowers. He could only shake his head and gesture for her to return inside from the cold, calling behind him about the tea he had prepared for them to enjoy.

"Siblings get the Lavender, Blonde kit gets the Freesia, Loud Brunette gets the snapdragon, and kit with the long tail gets the Hyssop. Got it, got it." Hanahaki grinned as he put the bouquet together, having given the rest of the bouquets he had made to the patients just out of surgery. They wouldn't know they had flowers until they woke up, however, that was fine. He had done it. He had found a cure to the disease of flowers he was named after, and now here he was. He was able to bring flowers to the children of his patients without a somber tone behind it all. He was able to give them the flowers and tell them their parents would be okay. That their families would be alive, and that their fears were not going to come true. He may not know these kids, not even knowing their parents that well, but he knew one thing. He had helped them in a way they might remember him forever for, and he wants to make sure they know he cares. He closed his book, labeled "Hanahaki and other diseases of the Monsters", and picked up the now completed bouquet.

The intercom blared out the words "Doctor Hanahaki to the visitor area, I repeat, Doctor Hanahaki to the visitor area, please." A smile spread across his face, though it was covered by the small bouquet of flower, and hopped over to rush down the halls of the hospital towards the visitor ward, hearing other patients say hello to him as they woke up and saw him smiling his way down to the kits he knew would be happy to hear his news. The cold feeling of the tiles on his paws didn't even register to him anymore, he just knew he was on the way to change some lives, and to bring some people closer to having their lives brought back to their former glory. It was what these kids deserved.

The rush down the halls was followed by a nurse catching up to Hanahaki, quickly seeming to ask a concerned question to the happy seeming professional. "Doctor, you don't know these kids, why are you giving them flowers?" The nurse behind the kalon was quickly given an answer to his question, almost as swiftly as he asked it. The answer was muffled by a bouquet of assorted flowers that had been taken from the hospital, almost blending in with the doctor's celebratory flower crown. "They're the kids of my patients who made it. I want to give them these flowers to show them that their futures are bright, as bright as the spring day. It's what they deserve for the fear they've had." The nurse nodded, seeming to understand what the doctor's goal was here. He always was a kind doctor, especially involving this disease he had worked his whole life to cure. Free flowers for...children he didn't know and just wanting to see kids happy after fearing for the death of their parents...it was, almost angelic in a way.

The music rose in the hospital, almost as if on cue. A soft orchestral piece of strings with a harp playing beautifully in front as a pink and white angel seemed to slip into the room, flowers in his jaw in the form of a bouquet. He looked towards the children in the room, one was barely keeping it together after the redness of their face told him they'd been crying. They'd been waiting for the results for hours now. If the surgery went well...if their parents still felt love towards their spouses. If they would be able to return home happy again. The world for them seemed so bleak, and Haki was so painfully aware of this as he gripped his flowers tighter in his jaw, attempting to keep himself from crying. His tears, however, were not of pain or sadness, but joy. After years of studying, he had finally found it...the cure for the disease that had taken so many lives as of late. And these children would be the first to hear the words of success instead of the words of mourning. He never knew his patients as well as he should, but he still loved seeing faces light up, or faces barely smirk at the sight of flowers. The flowers in his jaw fell as he opened his mouth to speak, just as Waltz of the Flowers reached it's end on the hospital intercom.

"I have a flower for each and every one of you today. As well as a message of hope towards you." He adjusted his flower crown, moving it back towards his ears before continuing to explain the circumstance to the children, all of them looking distraught. They had been told that Hanahaki Disease was incurable...but Haki hoped to change that idea. "As you all know, Hanahaki Disease...The illness caused by...loving someone so much but they don't love you as much in return...It's very hard to make feel better. And I know I've had to come to children before and say their parents didn't exactly make it...that they refused the surgery because they wished to feel love, or that the surgery left them emotionless...but today, I have better news for you all. The best news possible, in fact." Some eyes light up when he said that final portion, and as Haki pulled a flower from the bouquet, some seemed to wonder who would be receiving that flower.

The first flower, a Freesia, was pulled from the bouquet, and Hanahaki looked over to the child that had looked like they'd been crying before he arrived. Her eyes had not light up after Hanahaki had said his words of the best news. Hanahaki walked over with the small yellow bloom, and placed it in front of the sorrowful kit, attempting to speak softly, so that he did not hurt the other's ears if at all possible. "Freesia flowers signify innocence and thoughtfulness...and your mother was the most thoughtful patient I've had in years. She was always understanding, and she even worried about me when I seemed stressed, but she was the one getting a surgery! I haven't met you personally, child, but your mother always said you have a sense of innocence about you. And, with your mother surviving the operation in complete health, I hope your innocence stays a while when your mother picks you up." The kit's eyes light up, and she looked absolutely shocked. She smiled at Hanahaki and gave him a big hug, though quickly dropping back to the ground to pick up the flower she had been given, and allowing the doctor to reach for yet another flower.

A pink flower was the next one out of the bouquet, and it was easy to recognize as a Snapdragon if you knew flowers as well as Hanahaki did. He walked over to a very excited looking male kit, who was bouncing in place and waiting for the good news, hopefully relating to his father, surely. The male snatched up the flower as soon as it was dropped at his paws, and he happily looked up to Hanahaki, waiting for the news. Hanahaki couldn't help but laugh at the joy in their face. "Snapdragons symbolizes graciousness and strength. Your father, phew, he certainly was both of those things. He never wanted us to do anything for him that he could do himself. Moving the bed, turning off lights, stuff like that. He did those things sometimes too, even when at his worst. And, it's especially strong of him that he survived with full health, and you're strong too, kid. Strong for keeping your head up when times got rough. You and your father both, I hope to see how strong you both become when out of this hospital." The little kit bounced up and seemed to jump into the air very slightly, whooping and hollering in joy.

Some Heather Lavender was then pulled, leaving one flower left in the bouquet. Two panicked looking kits, siblings, clinging to eachother as they waited for the news. They seemed to be looking nervously towards Hanahaki, One sibling obviously seeming more frightened than the other. Hanahaki walked over and placed down the two small bundles of lavender, and tried to speak in a comforting voice towards the kids, not knowing how they'd react. "Heather means Admiration, Solitude, and Beauty. Now, your father was definitely one of beauty, and he made sure that he'd be beautiful even when he was having an operation...he put on makeup before we even began. As, somewhat funny as that is, he's also treated me with...respect and warm invitation to helping him. He always told me you two only stayed near eachother, and while it may not be the best mentally, it works for you two...and I surely hope you'll feel less afraid when your father takes you home later today." The kit who had previously looked most frightened then light up, a smile reaching across their face as they look the lavender, turning to the other and saying softly 'he's ok', to his sibling's response of a giggle and a smile. The change in tune made the doctor smile, looking over to the last kit of the lot, and going to grab the last flower.

Hyssop, a small purple flower, was the last of the bouquet, leaving there to be nothing left but a plastic cover that they used to be carried in. The doctor laid the small flower in front of the last kit, who looked away unfortunately once she seemed to recognize the flower. Hanahaki was confused, what was the matter? "Hyssop. Meaning Cleanliness and Sacrifice." The kit started, shocking Hanahaki slightly. He was just going to tell the other about Hyssop meaning Cleanliness, for her mother who would never let a single stain stay for a second in her room. The small female continued on with her speech. "I know my mother doesn't sacrifice much...and I don't sacrifice either...you sacrificed something for her, didn't you? You sacrificed something for a stranger you didn't even know besides for being your patient..." Hanahaki sighed at the words, seeing the little kit start to tear up and look towards Hanahaki's arm. A small bandaged was taped on, the remain of a transfusion tube. This time, Hanahaki spoke. "Your mother was wonderful, and I knew she had a rough life. She didn't deserve to die, especially not when I had been able to cure her. We happened to be the same blood type and...I wanted to make sure my patient got out alive. And she is alive, and she'll see you soon." He smiled softly, but the small kit shocked him slightly by jumping up for a hug, and continuing to hug him and start tearing up a small bit, the flowers still on the ground near the kit's paws. "Thank you, Doctor Hanahaki...You saved my mom..." Hanahaki smiled, and hugged the other softly as he gave the small kit the flower again.

"Just doing my job, kid....but you're very welcome."

prompt; How does she give out flowers?

Well it's very simple. Everyday Maxwell (nickname is Max) will go out to buy fresh flowers. Or sometimes. She can't grow an abundance of flowers because since she lives in an apartment she is very limited. She does keep flowers in her apartment though, but they are more personal! Anyway! She buys flowers and 2 or 3 baskets. Then, using the plastic bags she got from the store, she makes her own parachute. She places the flowers into the baskets and then attaches the parachute. Before letting it go to the world, she puts a note saying "Take 1 free flower! Make somebody's day today!", checks her surroundings, then releases them from her apartment door. Maxwell would either drop the basket down to the side walk or towards the playground thats next to the apartment complex. All though it is a bit difficult to reach over there. But anything to bright up somebodys day!
