Prompt: At the question, Sagepaw's eyes widened, a big grin making it's way across his face. The grin was one of mischief, yet of love, all in the same big toothed grin. He glanced left, then right, then whispered.

"Orange."

His grin then parted, laughter erupting from his muzzle. "Now, let me explain why. Some of the cats of Silentclan don't like the color orange. It is a color of warning, and a color of fire. However, there is one awesome cat I know who has orange on her fur! Poppyflame!"

He paused for a moment, glancing over to the entrance of the medicine cat den.

"You see, Poppyflame is awesome. She always brings me back moss balls when she goes out for herbs, and she's even helped me by teaching me a few fighting moves while Sundrop is asleep. We get along really, REALLY well, and sometimes she even says she's grateful to have an apprentice like me to occupy her time. She even calls me her son sometimes! It makes me all happy, because I don't know my family." He froze, shaking his head. "I take that back, Poppyflame IS my family, and the orange on her is gorgeous." [200 words].

. He's always had an appreciation for the nighttime sky, ever since his friend Firstlight dragged him outside to point up at the stars. It's a color that enthralls him, even though it's so far away. Because of this, North prefers to sleep outside whenever possible, staring up into the abyss and letting the beauty lull him into sleep.

For the first few months of his life, all he saw was grey: grey walls, grey bars. Even the view out the window was dull. He was adopted at three months old and promptly escaped, making his way out of the city to the countryside. He had never seen a color so rich and vibrant, and vowed never to return to a twolegplace again. Even as he made his way deeper into the wild, he never stopped loving the color green, and every spring brings him great joy when the new shoots pop up out of the ground, bringing color to the forest again. The small blue tom snapped out of his daze at the familiar voice that entered his ears, and his green gaze turned to land on the pale yellow ones of Frogfall.
The two weren't really brothers, but it was close enough.
"I was hoping you could help sort these herbs out, Wrenpounce won't mind." The medicine cat gestured to the bundle he had placed down.
Flowerpaw only agreed.

"What does this plant do?"
Flowerpaw had pointed out a plant with small yellow flowers, a rich but somewhat sour smell to them.
"Ah! That's Hawkweed, we don't use it too much." Frogfall smiled, closing his eyes. "It's like catmint but weaker."
"...the flowers. They're the same as your eyes, big brother."
That caught the tabby off guard as he went to watch the blue pelted apprentice. He was usually careful with his emotions, but the young tom let a smile slip.
"Your eyes...they're a pretty colour, brother. Like these flowers." the blue tom could only purr in content. "Like a rising sun, signalling the start to a new day."

Frogfall only shook his head, a snort in his throat.
Flowerpaw...you sure are strange.

Totterkit hadn’t really paid attention to color for most of his life- he was too busy paying attention to the butterflies wafting around his mother’s silky tail. However, there was one time when Mother got all her kits up early to show them the beauty of the sunrise! They all awoke, took a brisk walk up the hill- and stopped when they saw a grey fox cresting the rise. Mother commanded the kits to hide and after moments of long suspense and strange noises Totterkit had never heard before, Totterkit and his siblings ventured out to find his mother growing cold in the morning grass.

The sun broke free of the horizon that very hour, and Totterkit saw, for the first time in his life, how beautiful his mother was awash in the morning rays. How her fur glistened with the mornings dew and the strange colored patterns in her deep blue pelt. His favorite color, now? The radiant brown-grey-blue of her fur as the morning light washed over her stiffening features is something Totterkit will never forget...

Pebblekit and Orange

If one were to ask Pebblekit what her favorite color is, her answer would undoubtedly be "orange". Ever since she was a tiny kit who had just barely opened her eyes, Pebblekit has been fascinated by the color. The reason for this fascination lies within the face of a fellow Fractureclan cat. This particular individual made a point to visit Pebblekit in the nursery regularly, and while this cat's visits were appreciated, it was the visitor's bright orange eyes that Pebblekit was more interested in. The clanmember Pebblekit took a liking to possessed the unique ability of winking, which the newborn Pebblekit found to be hilarious. It was with this cat's help that she laughed for the first time, and she has enjoyed the trick ever since. While Pebblekit is older now, she will never forget those fond first memories of those silly orange eyes. Thus, orange is her favorite color.
