--> Coppershine has an uncanny ability to always seem to end up by someone's side when they're sad. She simply went to visit her sister, when she found her curled up; clearly despondent.
--> Coppershine likes to think of herself as a good judge of other's emotions - and she's not wrong. She could evidently see her sister was greatly upset about something
--> Obviously, Coppershine did not like to see her sister being so upset. However, there is a firmness to her words - she will not take "I'm alright" for an answer. She will persistently press others to give the real reason for their sorrow.
--> Again, the firmness to her words. She does not want to be lied to about such matters. "What's wrong?" "I'm fine." "Tell me the truth"
--> At first, this simply seems like a very innocent line. However, what is Interesting here is the use of "must". Coppershine holds a lot of inner securities herself, and is terrified of being replaced. So the usage of the word "must" could be interpreted as Coppershine stating that if you tell anyone, it must be her. She needs to know.
--> Coppershine has discovered the reason for her sadness is the fact that her kits have travelled away from her; missing them and fearing for their safety. Coppershine assures her that she will find Swift and Laurel.
--> This could be interpreted as the heartaches leaving scars or, more likely for Coppershine's optimism, the scars themselves leaving - the belief that all scars can be healed.
--> Coppershine has the optimistic belief that one day, everyone will be free from any grief or pain. A very unrealistic belief, yes, but an optimistic one.
--> Coppershine will always point out how there is always good in your life - whether you look at the plants, loved ones, the sky, or anything else - you just need to look out for it. By saying "shining above you", she is stating that good things never actually leave you - they are always there, like the sun, whether you notice them or not.
--> Coppershine believes that if one has a more positive attitude towards life, then they will interpret things in a more positive way - creating a cycle of positivity rather than negativity.
--> Coppershine is not oblivious to the fact that, yes, cheering up can be difficult [even if she doesn't understand why] and only wants her sister and others to at least try.
--> Upon finding her sister's child - Swiftpaw - she found them currently dealing with the stress of being a medicine cat, and being away from their sister. All of these little things have built up to make them unable to deal with anything more - and this is clear to Coppershine.
--> Coppershine can clearly see that Swiftpaw is dealing with so many issues - which greatly contrasts to the happy-go-lucky kit she once knew. Coppershine is comparing the Swiftpaw she sees before her, and the one she once knew, and believes that they are exceedingly weighed down by their problems. But she is exaggerating Swiftpaw's woes - simply put, the small kit she once knew had matured to some degree, and was generally a lot more calm and a lot more snarky than they once were.
--> Coppershine can recognise Swiftpaw's intelligence, and so tries to appeal to their logic about things will get better - for life is always up and down.
--> Surprisingly, this shows Coppershine's ignorance of, well, how sadness works. Having not experienced any particular grief in her own life, she is ignorant of how one can be frequently upset. Though she often comforts others, she cannot truly understand how they feel.
--> Swiftpaw is obviously upset, and Coppershine is likely beginning to miss her sister - but tries to cheer both of them up by reminding Swiftpaw of all the good things in the world.
--> The repetition of these lines symbolises how Coppershine is persistent in trying to cheer others up - she will not give up.
Chipmunknose is a daydreamer. Her thoughts are a bit farfetched and she dreams far bigger than her actual abilities allow, often overestimating herself in her own esteem. This leads to her jumping into action without clearly thinking it over, and so landing her in various accidents that could of otherwise been easily avoided. It brings down her usual- almost false and forced- self esteem and she 'lands to soon' while reaching for her expectations.
Despite her shortcomings she at least acts optimistic. She will go as far as to outright deny things, even if they're true. Sadly, this makes it hard for her to actually improve- she's so fixed on her idea of herself as near perfection she won't take the next step to go farther. She's rather stagnant.
She lies constantly, but mostly to herself. This isn't that she's in full denial- she's very sad inside by whatever mistakes she makes, but bottles them up inside and puts on a smile.
Always the optimist she will work hard to not only keep herself positive, but her clan. This is her best trait but often she can go too far, and cats get annoyed as she pushes aside troubles and worry and tries to make light of everything. That said though, she does feel things deeply even if she tries to not get emotional.
