Her best friend, is Frostsight. When she first became a part of the clan, she was a very shy and nervous she-cat. Mostly keeping to herself, and avoiding all contact with her clanmates. Because of this, many thought she was born a mute. Thus, when she finally became an apprentice, other cats around her age began to pick on her. Due to the fact that she was too scared to say anything about it. However, there was one cat in particular, who surprised both her and her tormenters. That one cat was Frostpaw. Despite being one moon older than her, and slightly shorter in height compared to the others. He still managed to defend her. Calling them out for their disrespectful attitude, and gaining both Leopardclaw and Dawnstar's attention on the matter. Who quickly took care of the situation.

Sagepaw was both shocked and grateful, of the young toms brave act. Not quite believing that someone would stand up for her like that. What surprised her even more, was that he then turned to her and smiled, before asking on what her name was and if she was alright. To which she nervously replied with 'Sagepaw', and gave a shaky nod in response. This was the first time she ever truly interacted with another cat, and it was only the beginning of it. Several weeks after the incident, Sagepaw had slowly began to adapt to her new life among the clan. Taking one step at a time, as she allowed herself to open up to her clanmates. Gaining more and more confidence with each passing day.

It was all thanks to Frostpaw, and his friendly nature. That allowed her to gain her confidence, and to be more talkative around her clanmates. The mostly white tom offering assistance whenever he could, as he helped the shy she-cat break free of her shell. Even managing to get her to laugh. Because of these interactions, it had allowed them to form a strong bond. One that eventually bloomed into a close friendship. Where if one was distraught about something, the other would come running to their side. Which may or may not end up with them cuddling in the apprentice's den, in an attempt to comfort each other during the harder times. Especially when their insecurities and fears began to take hold.

When Sagefeather finally became a warrior, she was no longer the shy she-cat she once was. Instead she was a brave warrior, who would proudly fight for her clan. Thus, when she saw Frostsight being picked on for his caring attitude, by some senior warriors. It was her turn to step up for him. Repaying him for all the times he protected and defended her. Now, the two are inseparable, one not being seen without the other. Filling in each others flaws. Even proving to be quite a formidable team, when it came to fighting. Yet, despite being older, they would still occasionally cuddle. Especially if one has had a nightmare.

There was a time when she hated him.
. Duskdreamer - or Quentin as he was back then -was always the scared one of the circus cats, the one who would jump at every little thing, even his shadow. It was infuriating. In contrast, look at herself. The brave, fearless fighter who would gladly fight anything just for the fun of it.
. But then the tiny coward came up to her one day, with a gift. A flower crown. "I made it for you," he said, and at first Beaver was disgusted, but when she looked it over later, she realized how nicely made it was. How much time it must have taken.
. So she tried to be nice to him, and slowly she found herself falling for the guy's adorable mannerisms. He was really trying, despite all the fear... maybe he just needed someone to look out for him? Yes, that had to be it.
. Before she knew it, she and him were like two peas in a pod, if that was the right human phrase. They never left each other's sides.

when darkstar first invited sunsong to join the clan, she was apprehensive; after all, she would have to abandon her old way of life in lieu of living a much stricter life. however, sunsong had no one; she was a loner, known merely as 'leaf' by those who knew her. the dark leader was kind, and patient, however, and sunsong eventually came around to the idea of joining his clan.

she considers all of darkclan to be her best friend; she hasn't felt such unconditional love from anyone else before. with the clan supporting her, a once shy, timid she-cat has turned into a confident, lively cat willing to do her best to see the ones she love smile.

Lilacwhisker has never been one to easily make friends, or to really pay much attention to the other cats in her clan. And because of this, the one she would consider her best friend is not a cat at all, but rather a tiny snail that lives in a small stone home that Lilacwhisker built for him in a corner of camp. She lovingly named him Shel, and she has kept an eye on him ever since she was a kit. While the other apprentices played battles and learned to hunt, Lilacwhisker would sit and tell Shel all about how she wanted to grow up to be a mighty warrior, but wasn't quite sure how to do that if she didn't like playing with the others. Of course, Shel couldn't answer her, but she always felt much better after talking to him.

Now that she is an adult, Lilacwhisker tries to conceal her attachment to Shel, for fear of the other warriors doing something tragic to him. But none the less she considers this snail her best friend, and will continue to whisper to him at night, and watch him in the morning as he scoots slowly along across the fresh leaf she brings him every day.

prompt: They weren't close at first. In fact Dapplewing was sure at one point they hated each other. Webfire had been her rival right from the start. And the two were always trying to one up each other as kits. When they became apprentices it was as if a fire had been lit and now could never go out. They always were trying to show up the other, show that they were the best.

When they became warriors that flame grew gentle and soft, no longer burning. Just warm. Dapplewing had been her name and more than anything she wanted to tell Webfire how proud she was in those short moments of glory. How happy she was that they both made it. They became warriors together and something about that kindled a spark. But then Webfire left. Their warrior's ceremony, only a few nights before when the clan learned about Webfire's secret felt like betrayal. Before she knew about it and when she found out she can honestly say she's ashamed of her past self now. The things she said, the way she felt...they were pathetic and what was worse was the broken look in the she-cat's eyes as her best friend turned her back on her.

Those nights after were long and colder as the spark that warmed her fur being together with Webfire, dulled to an ash. Regret made her paws heavy and her fur dull as she replayed the moments in her mind, always wishing she could have changed. But when they found her again, Dapplewing had dropped everything to see her and there she had been, the tortie with eyes colder than frost and covered in scars. She had snarled the most at Dapplewing eyes ablaze with a fire that melted the cold that had settled into her fur all those moons ago. And Webfire hadn't changed, not really. She was just far more hostile than anyone remembered. But Dapplewing wanted to prove herself, prove that she wasn't the same she-cat she used to be while Webfire fought with her the entire time.

But seasons change and so do cats.

Webfire growled at her as she laid down as close as she dared beside her one night and Dapplewing looked up at the stars. She could feel Webfire's gaze on her, no doubt calculating and cold before the tortie sighed.

"We're not friends." The simple statement that was more neutral than anything hurt. Hurt more than claws ever could. But still she understood.

"I know," she mewed not needing to look to know that umber eyes were staring straight at her.

"Then why this? Why are you here?" The words were soft and lonely. Dapplewing looked down at her paws, shameful. She had planned how to talk to Webfire if she ever met her again, recited words in her head. But those words left with their tails between their legs now.

"I....I was wrong....for what I did. What I said...I always regretted what we did to you...what I did to you." She glanced at Webfire. "Clan just wasn't the same without you..." For her part, Webfire said nothing else on the matter and the two sat in silence.

"I don't forgive you. But I understand...I always wanted to tell you first but... "

She trailed off and the silence prevailed once more. The slight breeze ruffled their fur.

"I understand."

windsong's best friend just happens to be eaglestar. this molly has quite the history with this tom. she was around by the time the tom was exiled. the story began first with her sister.

the two mollies were trespassing on eaglestar's birthclan territory in search of food. the tom ended up catching them and helping them out to his best ability without getting himself or them caught. windsong enjoyed having another cat around other than her sister and they didn't seem to be struggling as much once eaglestar taught them better techniques on hunting and foraging. had been going quite well for over a moon before her sister ended up making a horrible mistake. thinking that all the clan cats were like eaglestar, she greeted one in hopes of making another good friend. instead the molly was taken down in a fight and dragged back to camp. windsong could do nothing as she watched the clan cats drag her sister away. the only thing she could do was hide and hope. meanwhile eaglestar was put on the spot. to stay within his clan, it was demanded that he kill windsong's sister. the tom had refused and the other molly was killed right in front of him.

eaglestar ran away in his exile and found windsong. he managed to break the news to the molly before comforting her after the fact. when they finished grieving, windsong decided to leave but eaglestar would not allow her to in that state. they traveled together, learning more and more about one another. their likes and dislikes and strengths and faults. they taught one another and relied on each other. the tom was happy to have her around and she was glad to have a companion to help her learn a easier way of living.

through her sister's death she had become close to the tom that irritated her by being better than her at just about everything. windsong refused to be second best at everything so the two tended to butt heads a lot and she would always be one to tell eaglestar when he was in over his head or needed a reality check. the two are like ying and yang in personality but when put together they are a strong team.

alll friends tend to not get along at times but this molly loves to tease and make fun of eagelstar despite his rank. while he tolerates it, she tends to push his limits to the max at times. while eaglestar finds this annoying at times, he deals with it. the molly is the closest thing he has ever had to family before. the two helped one another in their time of need and that created one of the strongest bonds he has had with another cat.
