Hayley Rose danced down the street, excited. Her first day of school was approaching fast! Her excitement mounted the closer she got to the school.

She'd had her bag packed for weeks, set on the thrill of adventure of getting to go to school. She'd had her mum teach her the basics, so she'd be able to learn faster, her excitement almost palpable. She'd learned her ABC's and her 123's with rapt interest. She'd helped prepare snacks to eat, had packed her own lunch. She was ready!

Adoni is fearful of the shadows that lurk in the night. He has an overactive imagination and sees things that aren't actually there, so those shadows are in turn monsters and ghouls slowly creeping towards him waiting to pounce and drag him into their world of neverending darkness.
He has to sleep with a nightlight on, no exceptions in his mind. He would sleep on the sun if he could to avoid the shadows of the night.
