As a child you would wait

As a kit Lost always wanted to become a leader or medicine cat since he always thought that those were the only ranks that really mattered, that kept the clan strong and healthy. He didn't care much for warriors. To him, those were the cats who couldn't be medicine cats or leaders, the weak ones. He still always expected that he was gonna be a warrior though since the high ranks were already taken in his current clan.

But it was just a dream!

Lost would often daydream about having his own clan, how amazing it would be and how everyone would adore him. So, when he became a warrior in his clan, as he suspected, he ran away to make his own clan. Turnd out nobody really wanted to join him because of his view on warriors. He went on to search for another clan then. Surely he could just sneak into the high ranks, right? It turned out that was harder then he thought. No clan would let him in and immediately move into a high rank. When Lost found Brokenclan he, once again, asked for a high rank. ShadowStar was taken aback by his request but still politely declined it. Shadow then explained to him that the leaders were maybe the least important part of a clan and that while leaders merely directed the clan the warriors kept the clan alive. Lost considered her words. He, although not happily, accepted the place in the clan as a warrior.

Gradually he began to appreciate the fact that he was a warrior more and more. Eventually, he couldn't see how he once thought that warriors were worthless. He grew more and more loyal to his clan, always prepared to fight for it when needed. This is also why Shadow gave him the -Heart suffix as his new warrior name.

Originally, she had given him the choice between LostFlame, for his determination and courage, and LostHeart, for his overall kindness and loyalty, but Lost himself chose LostHeart because like he told Shadow LostFlame would sound like he had lost that determination and courage while LostHeart made it sound like he would not have his mind be clouded by feeling and that only his clan would know the true meaning of the name while it would still hopefully scare his enemies.

Lost knows that one day he won't be able to fight anymore. He does, however, hope to die in battle since like that he will still die protecting his clan rather than spending his last moons as a burden. When he dies he doesn't want any cat to be sad over his death because he will forever be the first warrior of the clan and will always be in starclan as long as they keep remembering him. He always jokes that there is a throne waiting for him in StarClan. He has always repeated over and over again that he will always protect the clan, even after his death.
