Barn Name: Mirage
Story:
The pounding footsteps echoed around her as the tribe rushed in to attack. The archer on her back was poised and ready, the bow string taunt. Mirage ran with the rest, steady in her movements and careful of her footing so as to give him a clear shot.
Just as the two were closing in on a clearing with a line of sight of the opposing tribe, a cry rang out behind the pair. She lurched to the side, evading what could have been a fatal blow. Instead, the sword glanced off her shoulder. She stumbled to the side, surveying the situation quickly.
More men were coming through the woods, and her archer also appeared to be wounded. He was gasping and swearing the way men do, and he was struggling to draw a weapon. Mirage made a sudden decision to flee, and she dashed to the side, barely escaping the sword again, and fled into the woods. This battle was lost, but her rider was thankful for the life she had saved.

Show Name: Fleur D'or (Flower of Gold)
Barn Name: Fleur
Story:
Fleur looked at the valley below her, two of her friends by her side. The three horses surveyed the carnage and violence below them, and the golden mare gave a small, sad whinny, letting out a sigh. "This has to end."
Taking the lead, her mane and tail flowing in her resolute step, she made her way down the grassy slope ahead of them, the two others behind her and to each side, beacons of peace themselves. The Neutral did what they could to stop the fighting of The Noble and The Nomad, but often, it was for nought. Either way, Fleur gave it her best shot, and sometimes- just sometimes, there was a horse or two who decided to listen to her words- quick and confident, but gentle and understanding.
They were a species bred for war, but Fleur believed, like the rest of the Neutral, that there could be more to life, and hopefully today, they would be lucky. As she approached a wounded horse on the outside of the battlefield, the healer she had brought with her rushing forward to help, Fleur let out a quiet greeting and started talking, sharing that hope she feels every day.

Show Name: Golden Hearted Maiden
Barn Name: Maya
Story:
Maya twitched her ears, hearing the loud tossing and snorting of another horse. She raised her head, got to her feet and poked her head out through the opened upper stall door. She glanced worriedly at her neighbour. Jinora was a small filly barely weaned. She was brought to the stables just a few days back, and was giving everyone lots of trouble. In the day, she stubbornly refused to talk to anyone and was sometimes seen weeping in the corner of her stall. At night, she cried out for her mother. Maya knew the truth, that Jinora's dam was killed in a wolf fight and Jinora had barely escaped, her mother sacrificing her life for Jinora.
Maya unlatched her own stall door with her teeth, a technique she learned over the years. She stepped into Jinora's stall, and the filly wailed louder. Snorts and scraping sounds were heard as other horses began to wake up.
"Shh. Dearest, the wolves will not come for you. I'm here." Maya spoke reassuringly, picking some grass from the net and pushing them to the filly. "Here, Jinora. You should eat. The wolves will not come if I go up to them one day and tell them what a great horse you have become." Jinora stopped her wailing, tilting her head. She accepted the grass and chewed slowly. "Now, Jinora," Maya began, her eyes twinkling. "Did I tell you about the time I met wolves? No? So here goes..." The night became silent once more, with the quiet mumbling of Maya, who watched Jinora through the night until the filly fell asleep.
