Extending this to 17th as I've had several people ask for extensions. This will be the ONLY extension.

    Username: true knight
    Name: Qarina
    Gender: Female
    Gender for Breeding purposes: Female
    Personality:
355 words wrote:Qarina, first and foremost, lacks the basic function of an autonomous mind. Most of her actions revolve around her instincts, and as such, she isn’t very smart.
She does have enough of a mind to process who is friend or foe, and what benefits or works against her. Though most of her mind is blocked off by Uriel, she is still able to see him as someone she would love to attack -- but can’t because of his control over her.

Qarina has a mostly insatiable need to destroy because of her almost permanent trapped-animal state of mind. Being locked in the Underworld for most of her life has seriously deteriorated her ability to act on her own independent thoughts and all but canceled any speech growth, so she is much like a helpless child in the sense of understanding the mortal world as a functioning plane and not just a playground.

She lacks mercy and sympathy due to her ignorance, although her curiosity is something that could likely fuel her to grow and understand should the proper time and effort be given to her. Unless an outside force pushes to help her, she is stuck in her mostly bestial state, although she of all viscets can’t seem to understand that at all. She also doesn’t appear to understand that her actions have consequences, so she has little to no common sense and purely acts on impulse with no understanding of punishment unless it had been something to anger Uriel. Fear is very real to her, however, and most of that resides in death and in Uriel. She is a defiant but unwilling soul, seemingly bound by both metaphorical and physical chains even when she roams the earth. The only other things in existence she seems to be interested in interacting with are other animals, although surprisingly her response to other viscets is quite violent and angered -- possibly linking back to Uriel, whose form remains the same as that of earth-dwelling viscets. Cats, dogs, and other species, however, earn her curiosity and surprisingly gentle interactions. Either that, or she just lacks a taste for those types.

    Story about Halloween:
[1000/1000] wrote:The surface world was especially noisy this time of year, she found.
The beast pinned her ears against her head as the joyful shrieks and cries of children pounded into her skull, breeding a furious rage like no other as she snarled low in her throat, hunger swarming beneath each pluck of fur lining her pelt. She was getting antsy now.

“Now, now, darling. Easy. Wouldn’t want to spoil all that energy down here, would we?” The familiar voice of her -- of Uriel, rather, startled her and she lifted her head, staring at him intently. Impatiently. Would he release her yet?
“Don’t look at me like that, Pup. You’ll have your fun soon enough.”

She nearly twitched with agitation at the prolonged wait, staring at the portal that tantalized her while her chains held tight to her hind paws and neck, restraining her from simply bursting through.

Meanwhile, Uriel grinned, watching his pet all but froth at the maw with excitement. He supposed if he were to be pinned up for six moons out of the year, he would be chomping at the bit to be free, too. However, control was everything with this beast of a girl. If he let her go now, when she was demanding it...there would be no established authority. She needed to understand where the line between request and demand was met. His ear twitched, unsympathetically gazing through the portal.

It was always a different part of the land each time Qarina was released from her binds. Surprises were something Uriel had always loved -- well, that, and he did want his special guard dog to return in one piece again. Unleashing her in the same place would eventually breed resistance, and, well...that was better left an impossibility.

A snarl built in Qarina’s throat as she glared up at him, cocking her head in apparent challenge. She wanted out now, not when he felt like it. She crept forward on all fours, lip curled back as her muscles bunched -- but when she sprang, her chains tightened and she collapsed, jerked backward uselessly while Uriel leered down at her.

“That’s no way to ask for permission, Pet.” His voice was crisp, ominous -- but she was too anxious, too starved to be fearful of the unnatural tone. She wanted out. Would he let her out if she pleaded? Her several eyes zoned in on him as her pelt prickled, chest heaving with rough, anxious breaths.
Finally, Uriel threw his head back in a vicious hackle, harsh on Qarina’s ears -- but she didn’t flinch, instead staring intently. Waiting. Hoping.

“Oh, you’re such a good girl. Alright, Darling. Give them hell. A taste of it, rather.” Uriel smirked cruelly, making her wait a good moment longer before his ear twitched and her chains vanished, releasing her as the portal widened invitingly.

Qarina’s eyes glittered. She stared at Uriel for a split second before she shot through it, barreling into the mortal realm and feeling a cold breeze sweep through her fur instead of the unbearable windless realm of the Underworld.

A weak cry caught her attention and she looked around before her eyes found the sight of her paws squishing a viscling, pinning it to the ground while it yelped and wailed in pain. Her head cocked and her maw watered, slobber dripping onto its face -- before the rest of the visclings in the group that had been harmlessly trick or treating shrieked with terror and startled her, making her topple backwards and let the first child go.
She snarled angrily as it scrambled to its paws and ran away with the rest of the oddly dressed pieces of prey, clambering to her paws again to give chase -- before a larger, grown viscet stood in her way and stopped her.

“What’s wrong with you!?” he snarled. “What are you?” The disgust in his eyes hardly made her flinch; her mind simply read feast and she shot forward, tackling the black-furred male to the ground and tussling with him in a rolling mess of snapping teeth and razor-sharp claws. The adults were always the hardest to battle, but the most satisfying to drag back home with her. This one would make a nice enough souvenir for this land.

Pain. She yelped as jaws snapped shut around her shoulder, digging in deep and drawing blood as she writhed and kicked. Fury blazed through her and blurred her vision as she roared and tore herself free carelessly, letting fresh pain sear through her shoulder as she rolled over and sank her jaws into his chest, teeth digging in, in, in.

She panted through her teeth as her eyes bore through a lingering viscling, mercilessly snapping her jaws together harder until her victim stilled and she finally let go, lifting her head and taking a single pawstep toward the terrified viscling. It vanished into the night before she could dart after it, though, and she cringed as her shoulder screamed with protest. Ugh…

“Woah!! What a cool costume!” The laugh of another adult filled her ears as she jerked and whipped around, staring at him without blinking. Hungry. She was so hungry.
“How did you do it? You had to have had some help there. I’d never be able to stick weird horns like that on my back! And, man...what a cool prop! Do you carry that around with you?”

His words flew right over her head as she swiped her tongue over her jaws, taking slow step by step toward him. Perhaps this would be an easy, free night for her to play. She had six moons worth of energy piled beneath her fur, begging to be let out of its prison -- and she had all night to let it out. Each little mortal life was like a candy of her own, ripped from the world by her greedy, clutching jaws -- and there would be no one to stop her.

Tonight, she would collect as many treats as she liked.

    Extra:
677 words wrote:Qarina awoke with a sudden jerk as an ominous sensation washed over her, her ears pinning flat against her skull with alarm. Pulse spiking, she picked her head up, snarling and clumsily springing to her paws to face whoever or whatever was in her midst.

Chains clinking, the beast stared at the mysterious form before her, seeing nothing but bright white hair and piercing red eyes, the apparition so bright it nearly blinded her. Her eyes narrowed to block out the light and almost immediately she felt fierce fear wash over her, reduced to cowering pathetically. Not even Uriel could terrify her this much, and yet...what was this...thing?

“Calm yourself, child,” the creature murmured, padding around her patiently as she swallowed hard and looked up once more. The brightness was fading, but the crippling flow of energy still held tight to the stranger, keeping her rooted in place. Her jaw snapped shut with a low growl in her throat as she recognized him as a viscet -- but she didn’t move. Could she? Her paws refused to give way.

“I have only come to observe your state. I mean you no harm.” His nose touched her ear in a gesture that apparently conveyed itself as friendly, but she still shrank away. Her instincts shrieked that he was dangerous, and she had never distrusted them before. “What a pity it is to see you like this. I doubt I can even ask your name.” His voice was deep, almost monotone, and yet as smooth as the slope beneath their paws, so harmonious that it seemed to ring in her mind.

“...” Of course, she did not speak. She couldn’t; to her, that was not a possibility. Instead, she glared at him, compelled to call for Uriel -- but again, she seemed unable to move at all.
“I cannot allow you to do that,” he remarked calmly, finally halting in front of her. “Surely you wish to be freed.”

Freed? But she could never leave. Not unless Uriel granted her that, anyway...
“You have never known independence. I wish to grant you that..” He trailed off, and she looked up at him again. Her stare was akin to a stunned animal, and that disheartened the newcomer. Perhaps it would be unwise to unleash such a merciless, stupid beast. Perhaps.

“...however, I will not uncage a bird that does not realize its predicament.” Her head cocked in confusion. His words were odd, but she felt less fear as he spoke. He was intimidating, but apparently, no threat to her. Still, one word rang in her mind.

Freedom. Was it like the nights she was granted, freely roaming the land with no chains to bind her down? Was it being able to devour whatever she pleased? She stared up at him, eyes narrowed. However...her rage was quashed as his eyes shifted from red to glimmering violet, instead staring back at him in wonder. Freedom…

“I must bid you farewell now, beast. You have much to understand before I take such a risk,” he murmured, touching his nose to her spiked forehead before he vanished, and the crushing wave of power swept itself away along with him.

Qarina lay where she was left in a stunned state, staring blankly where the mysterious viscet had once stood. With slowed breathing, she glanced around, the shroud of mindless rage constantly fueling her mind seeming to have been briefly...dulled.

    Freedom.

Feeling the wind through her fur, breathing cold, sweet air from the night sky. Seeing sunrise for the first time in her life. Discovering…

What was there to explore? To see? Her mind raced as her paws shuffled, yanking at her chain softly.

The moment ended in a rush.
    Her outrage flooded back.
    It was useless.
She was nothing meant to be left unleashed and unchecked. Why waste time wishing for a pointless word?

By the time her next exit came around, the thought would be purged from her mind once more.

No hallucination would fool her into thinking she would ever be free.
