Viscet #1987 - Eclipse (judged)

Postby Unleashed Squiid » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:30 am

As of Feb 9, 2018 I'm almost finished with your RU, ves. It's coming along wonderfully. ^^

Image

Light is often seen as safe and warm, but is that really all it can be? What if darkness is the real safe-dwelling and light lures unexpecting victims into a false paradise? For this viscet, tell me about their relationship with light. What is the light emitting from their paws, and does it serve a purpose?

You tell me.

serious ress;; ;o;

    Username; Mint Chip
    Viscet Name; Thelemite
    Viscet Gender; male
    Relationship with Light;
A long time ago when titans and other monstrous creatures ruled the earth there was chaos. Nothing but chaos. The world was wrought with danger, peril, and despair, which brought great suffering upon the poor pure creatures of the world. There was little hope and even less reason for it in such a hellish existence. Creatures small and large that still had a glimmer of faith left cried out, wishing and pleading for something, some light in the darkness that would reshape the world and make it beautiful once more, the way it was before the reign of evil. The universe, or the great celestial beings said to have existed, heard the cries of those suffering under the tyranny and from their cries created two things. Two gods were born as a response to those pleads and wishing, one that would answer their prayers and one that would keep the balance of darkness. A bright white light shone through the night, followed a magnificent explosion as raw power gave way to bone, flesh, and fur. The two deities were born in that moment, shaking the earth and its surface to its core and drawing all out in awe of the spectacle.

The first deity opened his eyes; he was the symbol of the hope of the people. His paws itched to feel the earth below, to free it from the pain and chains that had been placed on it from the destruction it had suffered from for so long. He moved quickly, paws glowing brightly as they were enveloped by an almost blinding light that pulsated from them. As soon as his paws graced the surface of the earth, lush foliage and prosperity spread from them, healing the land, the wild creatures and the ill of the earth. Solely his touch brought the healing and his compassion for the suffering had secured it. He was dubbed the light and the god of creation for his ability to create anew what was once dead and gone. He was given the name Thelemite, a strong name for a strong and gracious being. But just as Thelemite was born from the wishes and pleas so was the other deity.

The second deity opened her eyes, lashing a tail as a crooked grin graced her features. She was the vile pleas, the hatred, the envy and the impure of the world's desires manifest into a deity. She was created for balance, to keep the world's balance in check to ensure evil nor good reigned solely. Her paws glowed dark, her heart merciless and cold as she looked upon the world her brother had born anew with disgust. The vile creatures of this world deserved what had come to them the first time and she would ensure the vile still got their just rewards as she plagued the wicked with night terrors, ensnared the liars in their own webs, robbed the thieves blind, and watched murderers receive their punishment in full as she took their very lives. She was just in all her mannerisms, even if they were harsh. She was dubbed the darkness and the goddess of destruction for her ability to destroy what was once living. She was given the name Andromeda, a befitting name for a merciless warrior of justice.

For all that made the two different, it was those that made them fit together. Thelemite rose the world up higher than it had ever been in history, while Andromeda secured the reign of the good and righteous by ridding the world of the wicked of heart. And for a while, that was enough. The two worked side by side for centuries, both distinctively different but needing one another to thrive. Still, eventually, all good things come to an end, as was the case with the two deity siblings. One's heart can only take so much wickedness before corruption begins. The darkness and the people of the world were changing Andromeda's heart and forcing it colder than it was before. She suffered for centuries, trying to see the light and hope that one day this would end but for every beautiful thing in the world lay two cursed and wicked things. While her brother's heart was full of life, happiness, and joy; Andromeda's heart was lifeless, dead to all hope and exhausted from trying to see any. It was then that a wicked thought crept in, a voice spoke to her. It wasn't her own but she didn't know from whence the voice came but when it spoke, it gave her chills.

"Why don't you recreate the world?"

The sheer idea of recreating the world seemed impossible. With a shake of her head, she confirmed in her mind it was and tried to dismiss the voice but it spoke again, stronger this time than last.

      "What's stopping you?"

Andromeda almost scoffed aloud at that as she replied to the voice.

"Simple, I cannot. It is not within my power to, that is my brother's blessed gift."

Before the sinister voice had even spoken, she knew what it would say.

"Then take it. Destroy and recreate this world."

Andromeda was taken aback, uncertain how to respond to that but her dark heart was yearning for the chance to start anew, to for once feel the joy and see a perfect world that her brother had failed to create. She snorted as she stood; she had much to think on now. That one corrupted thought from wherever it had come brought forth the fall of the age of peace. With each passing day, Andromeda felt her sympathy for these pitiful, greedy and selfish creatures fading further. She could no longer care enough to discern who deserved the punishment as she simply wanted to punish them all for the wretched state of the world she and her brother had tried to create anew all those centuries ago.

In the meanwhile, Thelemite had yet to take notice of the change in his sister deity. He was blissfully unaware that the world was changing, that peace was dying just as many innocent were by the hand of his sister. His heart was still in the world, giving his compassion and mercy so freely that many took it for granted over the years. Still, he never took notice of such things, he simply loved the people and the world far too great to see any of the selfishness or greed in their hearts. The change in his sister, the distance and darkness was in part his fault as well. He neglected to see the bad in the good and in doing so dismissed any bad he saw in anyone including his suffering sister.

While his sister slipped further from his grasp and deeper into her corruption, Thelemite found himself in a new predicament. He found himself in love with a mortal. He had always watched the mortals, had compassion and a different type of love for them, but this was new, even for the centuries-old deity. He had met this mortal as he had been healing a large river whose water had become polluted, causing the nature surrounding to suffer greatly. It was then that he saw this beautiful woman making her way to the river to collect water for the nearby town. His eyes widened in surprise as his cheeks flushed for reasons he couldn't explain. The light filtering through the trees around them lit up the mortal's face, giving her an almost heavenly glow. It was at that moment that Thelemite lost his heart fully to a woman he had just met. He spoke to the woman, making his presence known as he asked to see her again. They met every day in those days at that riverside. They'd stay for hours, talking and enjoying the company of one another. Thelemite's heart was full, there was nothing that could make him happier than this mortal's love.

Little did he know that Andromeda had sent messengers to keep an eye on her starry-eyed brother. She learned his secrets and the secrets of the woman he loved in that time as she continued to plot how she would steal her brother's power. There was still some semblance of her heart that was intact as she didn't want him to die, she would spare him and his mortal love even if she could merely get his powers. Her brother; the only hope and light left in her heart. She had spoken with another darkness, with another more wicked than her own corruption and was told it would be possible to take his godhood if only he would give it up freely then she wouldn't have to resort to fighting him or harming him. She plotted, letting life take its course and open up an opportunity that she couldn't have planned better herself. She merely took advantage of the situation as she set everything into motion.

It was an unusual evening to Thelemite, something in the air was different and he hadn't seen his darling love once that day. He had hoped to meet her by the river as they always did on nice days and evenings but he hadn't seen any sign of her yet. That somewhat worried him, the god stood to his feet and just as he was about to leave for the town he saw his love in the distance. He excitedly ran to her, expressing his worry for her as he embraced her. It was a few minutes before he noted something was the matter with her as she was very quiet. He took a step back, looking at her with a worried expression once more. The mortal woman smiled slowly, taking his hand as she told him she was expecting their child. Thelemite's eyes lit up with excitement at the idea of that, he could hardly contain it but before he could react aloud the mortal spoke again. She said she had to ask him something of importance. He smiled brightly and replied simply, anything for you, my love. But when his mortal love spoke again his smile began to fade. She asked him to give up his immortality and godhood to be mortal with her, to raise their child and grow old together. The request was clear enough but Thelemite couldn't respond. He had never been asked such a thing and while he thought he would be willing to do anything for the love of his life, this was proving to be something he just couldn't. He hesitated, circling the subject and nearly agreeing numerous times before he put his foot down and said he couldn't.

Those words angered Andromeda beyond a reasonable measure. It's not that he can't--he won't! Not even for that mortal he claimed to love, and for his unborn child! She growled lowly as her heart darkened further, consuming the final light remaining there. He's just like the rest of them, he's selfish. Selfish! Selfish! Selfish! How foolish of me not to have seen it before! She screamed internally as she lost control of herself. The corruption setting in full now as she made her presence known. She bolted forward, her actions outside of her control now as she aimed to take everything from him now and watch him burn with the rest of the wicked world. In one swift movement, she destroyed the life of that mortal, taking it from her body, killing both her and the child within. She watched Thelemite's face as it twisted in pain as he caught his lifeless love in his arms, suddenly aware of what his sister had done.

"What have you done?!" Thelemite cried out, hands glowing brightly as he tried to bring her back but he could do nothing, the soul and light from within her had been stolen and consumed by the darkness. That moment was Thelemite's breaking point and the moment that his eyes were opened to the truth of the darkness that had been surrounding him.

Word Extra 1: Story Part II
It took a while for Thelemite to recover from such a devastating blow: his love was gone and with her their future. His eyes opened for the first time to the darkness around him, and the betrayal of his sister. He was in shock still as he cradled the lifeless body of his frail love. His happiness and joy shattered at the loss and for the first time, the deity broke down into true sadness. Tears flowed like the river from him as he mourned the loss and the hole it left behind. He mourned the loss of his naivety on top of the loss his dearly departed. He even mourned the loss of the closeness of his sister for a time. It was that thought — that sorrow he felt towards her — that finally woke him from his sadness.

Thelemite's once somber expression twisted into something darker as he gently laid his love on the ground. He traced his paws through her mane one last time before standing to his feet. He flicked an ear in silence as he still sensed Andromeda's presence lingering near. He knew she had left him to mourn and had promised to be back once he was done. His paws glowed as he sensed out for Andromeda, attention snapping in her direction as he launched himself quickly towards the treeline. His pace was swift as he sensed his sister deity begin to waver as if she were about to run. He would have found that amusing had he been himself, under their normal meeting circumstances. Just as he appeared within yards of her, he saw her beginning to retreat. His nostrils flared in anger and he flung himself forward with more force than he ever had, taking to the sky as he grabbed Andromeda on the way up. He had a firm hold on her as he kept going until they broke the atmosphere.

"Why would you do this to me?" Thelemite spat furiously.

She turned away from him in silence, no remorse present on her form but there was something else. He grabbed her jaw and turned her to look him in the eyes. His eyes were intense and filled with every emotion he was withholding.

"Don't you dare look away," Thelemite hissed deeply, "You have betrayed me; your own brother. I demand to know why."

Andromeda's eyes were nervous for a flicker of a moment before they hardened, she jerked her face out of his grasp and pulled away from him. "Why?" She growled, a small chuckle slipping its way in as she continued, "You've abused your power. You've turned into them." She pointed to the world below, her corruption beginning to shine through now that Thelemite wasn't blind to it. “You have become as vile as the creatures who you've spent centuries trying to help."

"Oh Andromeda, what has become of you?" Thelemite questioned, his pity for her state showing through his anger.

"Don't you dare pity me!" Andromeda screamed, her voice echoing through the earth and all that was above and below. Her paws began to glow with their dark aura as she looked at her brother. "This ends today. Forfeit your power to me and I will reform this wretched world into the perfect place you failed to create."

Thelemite was taken aback by her — those words. He looked at her, realizing even further what she had done. "You-" He had to struggle to keep from exploding, "You made her request that of me?!" His voice booming like that of a thunderclap that shook the very core of the earth and the heavens. "You-" He growled deeply, "You didn't take her life because of her request of me, you took it because she couldn't do your bidding for you." He knew that to be the truth now. This truth was worse than his last presumed truth. He had thought a semblance of her had remained and that she had done it to protect him but knowing the whole truth, what she had done was unforgivable entirely. "You selfish, wicked creature. You're as twisted and vile as those you sought to rid the world of."

Andromeda's eyes widened at the accusation, "How dare you say that to me!" She lunged at him this time. Thelemite's paws glowed brightly as the two fought. Each matching the other blow for blow, for every blow Andromeda landed, Thelemite landed a stronger one. The ferocity of battle between the two lit up the sky, a grand spectacle to behold if not for the casualties it cost. Andromeda's powers radiated out, she formed them into weapons that she would try to strike her brother with. Thelemite would break them or form his own to fight in return. The shards and broken pieces of energy that remained shot down to the earth in a phenomenon as amazing as it was terrifying. The raw energy killed on contact and radiated out in large radius' causing an increasing casualty toll as the battle raged on.

The sky was alit with the light of their abilities as they clashed. Each battle cry shook the universe to its very core. There appeared to be no end in sight as the two continued to fight, neither willing to concede to the other. Time seemed to stand still for them as they waged war on each other, but for the earth, it was a ticking time bomb. Each blow wiped out entire towns; the world would crumble at this rate before either would come out the victor. Thelemite's attention was pulled away from the fight for only a moment as the screams of the creatures below reached his heart. He was suddenly acutely aware of the growing casualties that their fight was causing. He couldn't let this fight wipe out the world. Thelemite summoned all the power in his being and banished Andromeda from his sight. He didn't know where he had sent her but he knew she'd be back.

Word Extra 2: Story Part III
There was much in need of repair, the land had suffered greatly at the hands of the twin deities. Without his sister to lend him power and aid him in weeding out the bad from the good, Thelemite had to resort to pushing himself beyond limits to try and fix what he had helped to break. For a time, the lands suffered greatly and were plagued with death and disease.

Andromeda continued to haunt him. Every step he took was weighted with the anger and hurt of betrayal left behind. Time passed slowly, painfully for him as he struggled to try and revive the world a second time but it wasn't the same as it had been. There was a bitterness in him that was killing the joy he had once felt in healing the land and helping the mortals. He was becoming hollow and he knew something had to give.

If it weren't for Andromeda, for her deceit and lust for power, then this never would have happened, Thelemite thought to himself. He twitched an ear as he heard something, the sound ruffling his fur and making it stand on end.

      "You seem troubled."

The voice was calm, almost velvet-sounding. Everything about the way the voice spoke crawled beneath his skin but there was something intriguing all the same about it.

      "Am I mistaken?"

The voice questioned the god as a dark cloaked figure stepped into view. Thelemite stood up, stiffening as preparing for a fight. The figure removed their hood, revealing a beautiful viscet.

"Who are you?" Thelemite asked, keeping his eyes on the woman who had presented herself before him.

"My apologies." The woman said as she gave a bow, "I am Lucrecia. I am a sorceress." She smiled warmly though something about it wasn't right. "I sensed someone who was troubled here, I thought perhaps I could lend my aid. I didn't realize it was the great god, Thelemite. What sort of help could a lowly mortal like myself offer to a powerful god such as yourself?" She bowed to dismiss herself, "I must have been mistaken."

Thelemite watched Lucrecia as she began to walk back from whence she'd come. He felt an urge, perhaps she can help me. He swiftly reached out for the sorceress, grasping her arm gently but firmly. "You said you sensed someone in need of help here?"

Lucrecia looked back at him, her eyes meeting his. "Yes, I did."

Thelemite was hesitant but he knew something had to be done about his vile sister. He wasn't comfortable with confiding all this in a stranger nor requesting the aid of a sorceress to do such a task but something had to be done. He made up his mind, "You know my sister?" He watched the sorceress nodded. "I need a way to be rid of her forever."

The sorceress looked a little stunned, "Forever? Well, that is quite a spell."

"But it is possible?" Thelemite urged.

"Well yes, but that price isn't cheap even for a god," Lucrecia replied. She hesitated, "it is possible but it'll take an immense amount of power to perform on a goddess."

"Any price, I'll pay it. I just need rid of her, the world needs rid of her." Thelemite replied firmly, still grasping her arm. "Can you do it?"

There was a long pause of silence before Lucrecia nodded, "Yes, I can. But we need to gather some items first. Once we have those we must travel long ways to perform this. The tallest peak, Mount Cinder Curse would do, it's just north of here." She looked back to Thelemite who was nodding, taking it all in. "Shall we then?"

"Lead on," Thelemite replied as he released her arm and began following after the sorceress. They traveled a long way to gather strange ingredients they would need for the spell they intended to cast. It took weeks to gather all they needed and scale the mountain ridge to the peak. The mountain had a volcano within it from the age of the titans that laid dormant since the age of peace began. He didn't question their need to be atop such a high mountain nor the need for so many ingredients, this was beyond his knowledge and he felt he had no choice but to trust this mortal if he wanted to put an end to Andromeda's wicked ways.

After a long period of silences, Lucrecia finally had everything in order. She motioned Thelemite over to stand across from her around the mouth of the volcano. Her paws glowed as she worked her magic, locating Andromeda who was wandering amongst the mortals still. Thelemite put his paws forth as they glowed and he did as he had been told, combining his power with the sorceress'. Lucrecia began chanting loudly, calling forth some sort of storm that surrounded the two atop the mountain. Thelemite could feel the power draining from his body as Lucrecia worked her magic, he could see through her eyes as Andromeda's body was swallowed up by the darkness. He watched her struggle as she was wrapped in binds and then vanished as if she had never existed. As soon as the spell had done as it had intended, Thelemite fell to his knees. He was weak from loss of power but it had been worth it.

Lucrecia looked at him, "It's time to pay up." She watched him look up at her, nodding. She grinned slowly as the conjured storm began to drain the remaining power Thelemite had. Stealing all his powers and godhood from him, transferring all of the power into her body, transforming it from a mortal to an immortal one. She wasn't a goddess but she had robbed Thelemite of his power. In that moment, Thelemite the god died and his body shone in a bright light as he was reborn anew as a demi-god with only the ability to heal and create live on a small scale.
