As she struggled through the mud, the lace of her dress caught on a stick. A stick in the mud. Perfect. This was where they said he would be. Where the butler had claimed the man lived. She yanked on the once-white lace until it tore, causing her to fall back into the puddle. Goodness, what a terrible place to live. Her beautiful silver gown was ruined. Not that she cared so much about the outfit itself, but the one who had made it. Her mother had so carefully hand-stiched the soft, velvety fabric together. Chris gazed wistfully down at the dirty clothing. The sweet blue floral patterns were faded and the dress was worn. The corset underneath was nearly squeezing the life out of her. Why hadn't she taken that off before she'd set out?
Tears threatened to spill over into her cheeks. This guy better be worth killing the gown for. Pushing herself up, she continued to trudge through the mud and towards the little cabin in the middle of the lagoon. The snow white heels on her paws were caked and mud and tight on her feet. At last, she clambered onto land and stumbled towards the porch. Fluttering her eyelids towards the door, she gentley raised a paw and knocked. As she waited, she carefully raised her paws to her head and removed the shimmering silver crown. Glittering blue stone dotted the piece, and she gazed down at it fondly before catching herself. No. They had lied to her. Her entire life was one big, fat lie. With an angry yelp, she threw the crest to the ground and kicked it off the porch and into the mud. It sank slowly before, with a bubble, it was sucked into the world beneath.
The door opened and a young woman poked her head out. "Hello. May I help you?"
Chris returned her attention to the woman. A woman? What was she doing at his house? Embarrassed, she smoothed out her beloved dress. "I'm...I'm looking for Solomon Rosaline Dalton." She paused. "My brother."

(Solomon is a kalon of mine! Just thought they would
connect well ^^ You are by no means
obligated to do so, but if you would like
to know more about him and the world
he lives in, you are welcome to click
here. Chris will be a very relevant piece to the story!)
