Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Loyalty is following the North Star, even when your compass points in the opposite direction.

There's no set definition to loyalty; it is a concept that lives independently and wholly uniquely in our hearts. To me, loyalty is undying trust until the end. We must believe in the people who believe in us. It is a spinning wheel of loving dependence that runs forever. Loyalty is a two-way street, and only those who choose to walk on it can pour themselves to others. I've always thought loyalty was some sort of special trust granted to those who we've deemed worthy. We give this trust to others to hold on to and keep near to their hearts, so in the event of misfortune, they may pull lightly to cash in.

So, in my opinion, loyalty is a trust fall of sorts - if you're loyal to someone, you must both depend that you'll be caught if trouble comes your way.

Defining loyalty is like defining love — it's better seen through actions than words.

Loyalty is when you're watching a show together, and you don't get ahead on episodes without her; waiting to eat until she's on her break, so you can sit and have lunch with each other; and not immediately leaving after class is dismissed, so you can walk together.

A friend doesn't always have good loyalty, but loyalty will always make a good friend. 76/250

"Loyalty is death honey."
That's what Meghan told me.
"It is the shifting desert sands beneath your feet. A mirage. It isn't real."
I took her word for it too, for Meghan had seen many things in her years traveling the countryside. She called herself a peddler of wares, I called her a con-artist.
"In the end what really is the difference?"
I suppose it contributed to her worldview.
I knew she had grown up in the desert, it was one of the few things she told me. It was where she learned her trade.
"It was where I learned how to survive."
Meghan did not tell me much, saving the long stories for tourists. I was little better than a tourist myself, but she let me talk about myself.
One day I brought her a sugar-donut that my mamma had made, thinking she would like it. She would not take it.
"To take from a friend would be to pledge myself to them. I cannot do that."
I did not bring her anything more.
One day I was chattering excitedly, as little girls do, about the dress my mamma had made for me. How she had told me how pretty I looked that morning, kissed my head before I left.
Meghan's eyes darkened. I did not bring up my mamma again.
I wondered who had hurt her like this.
The next day she had left. I remember feeling so betrayed and wondering, how could Meghan live feeling this always?

"Loyalty... Loyalty is something that can come in many forms,
but has two results no matter what. It'll either be beneficial to
you or will damage you completely. You give your all for this
one person, you're kind to them, you keep their secrets, you
defend them no matter what. Sometimes, that person gives their
all right back and everything works out smoothly. But most of the
time, that's not how it works. They know that you would do
anything for you, and they take advantage of that. They start acting
weird and being distant, and they know it's hurting you since they're
all you know, but they keep doing it. They tell your secrets, they
talk behind your back, and then are so sweet to your face. They're
tired of you, they're changing. But they still want to play with your
heart like it's nothing and like you're no one. You've become so loyal
to them and dependent on their friendship, or relationship, that you
don't break it off until they do. You feel your chest start to tighten
as they destroy your whole world, their once sweet voice now sour
towards you. The world crumbles around you as the only person you
trusted and would've gave the whole world to doesn't need you anymore.
Used. You learn to stop being loyal. Because in the end, everyone is the
same. They're only here for their benefit. They only want to hurt you.
