Who's The Rose For?:
Alejandro is a soft spoken stallion who rarely fits in with others because of his timid nature. He prefers his time by the sea where he can reflect on his thoughts without fear of judgement in peace and quiet. Except, his peace and quiet wouldn't last forever. The rose he carries is for the love of his life. A creature rarely seen but near always heard whenever he walks the beaches outside the alcove where they first met.
One bright, glorious day Alejandro was walking the shallows off the coast of his home when he hears it, a voice so tender and melodious that he couldn't resists the temptation to follow its sweet tune. He hurried along the edge of the waters until he came upon an empty alcove where a lone pool of water sat still and clear. He approached the edge cautiously, desperately searching for the source of the sound when he looked down into the waters and found not his own reflection, but another horse staring right back at him. He jumped in surprise, losing his footing on the shale stone, and fell into the abyss to come face to face with an ominous looking figure. Their meeting didn't last long. Alejandro was not the strongest horse on land, and although he loved the water, he would never swim for he did not know how. He watched the stranger until his vision began to blur, the last whisps of air escaping his lungs, and a cold darkness took hold of him as the world around him vanished....
He woke with a start, lifting his head only to be thrown back to the ground by a splitting headache and dizzy spells. "Wh-What happened"? He managed to ask himself before a strange, deep voice answered his question. "You don't remember falling in"? The black stallion asked with an aire of irritation as he bobbed on the surface of the water, "You landed on my head"! He snorted and splashed the water-logged male, "Get up and get out. I don't like visitors for this exact reason. You're all so annoying". Alejandro managed a groan as he was hit with the spray of cold liquid, but surprised the both of them by flashing a knowing smile and chuckling softly, "Oh please, I know a lonely horse when I see one...".
That one small exchange of words set the pair on the path to their destiny. Alejandro had indeed left that day, but he couldn't get the thought of the mysterious stranger and his melodious song out of his head no matter how hard he tried. He devised a plan which would eventually win over the hippocampus he came to know as
Leviathan. Bring a red rose, a flower the same color as his stunning fins and intimidating eyes, to his alcove every day as a peace offering and to his amazement it worked. The more the two met, the more they realized how alike they truly were and the fated day finally came when the shy stallion of the land and the fiery stallion of the sea fell in love.
