For brindle, use a brush size around 3, with scatter between 180-225 with opacity on or around 10, color over the entire horse in one layer then go back and add a second layer or color in patches to the hips, neck, shoulders and other spots, continue the pattern until you have a range of white or dark brown/black shades. You can add a second color, (ie. Cream for white brindle/medium brown for brown brindle, dark brown or dark grey for black brindle.) For a second color, alternate color layers (white, then cream, then white).

Make sire you follow the body lines, as in, curve where the body curves instead of straight up and down lines, it makes the horse look fake.
