what's their favourite thing about living on earth?: Nova's favorite thing about living on earth is that there are so many beautiful places to explore, such as the Waitomo Glowworm caverns, Niagara falls, and many other places. She loves nature, so these places are perfect for her. Nova also loves seeing the different animals that live near these wonderful places. However, she hates seeing places in nature get destroyed, or buildings being built in place of the land before it. She loves to recycle, too. It helps the environment she lives in.

what's their favourite thing about living on earth?: Nyota is a curious Kalon. They adore the stars, and the galaxy. The thought of it all being so unexplored is amazing to them. However, their favourite thing about Earth is how, in a crisis, everyone bands together. Nyota has witnessed first-hand this, and it just fills them with a joy they can't comprehend. It's almost as good as the stars! Even such a simple gesture as someone handing some food or a blanket to a homeless person, or buying the person behind them's coffee makes Nyota so happy, and they feel invigorated to do the same!

Alioth grew up on a planet that practically discovered everything, her home was surrounded by looming dark blue stones and little plant and animal life, so she practically leaped at the chance to visit earth in order to learn more about it and its inhabitants just to see how much they differed from her own home planet. In the end, the kalon decided to stay here for the rest of her life, instantly taken by her surroundings the minute she stepped foot on the ground and grinned in excitement over seeing the world in such vivid color. Alioth enjoys the diversity and discovery the most though, she is amazed about the constant discovery of new things in the world, as well as knowing how life will continue to grow and evolve for the rest of life's days.

dear journal,
today i landed on earth. all those years of traveling and i'm finally here...
i've already discovered my favorite part about earth, rain! at first, i wasn't sure how to feel about rain because it was so different from anything i had experienced on my home planet. eventually, i realized i loved how it felt. it was so refreshing-- almost satisfying to feel water run through my fur again. on my home planet, we had almost no water so we didn't get to feel water in our fur often. the smell was also wonderful. the damp, earthy smell was so refreshing and new.
after a while, i ended up deciding that if it was just water, and it doesn't seem to be poisoning me, i should try to drink it. i then stuck my tongue out eagerly. i was greeted with the refreshing, satisfying taste of water. i sat there, looking up with my mouth wide open, savoring the water. while i sat there, i realized how pretty the rain looked. each drop glinted like a diamond. then there was the way it caught light- each drop seemed to have a mini rainbow in it.

what's their favourite thing about living on earth?: of all the beautiful and glorious things on earth, nothing can beat street lamps at night. the dim light shining it's faded glow on the sidewalk is more soothing than you would think. as you walk through the darkness, the patches of faint light illuminate your pathway in glowing spheres, barely touching one another's borders. echo loves to roam down the streets of the city just as the sun dips behind the distant slopes, when all of the street lamps begin a slow fade into their gentle light. the moon's brilliance is softly cut away by the dim light of those street lamps. the light coming from them always feels so warm and tender, making her feel drowsy with contentment. a long walk through the circlets of light is the perfect cure for any sleepless night.

What's their favorite thing about living on earth?:
They find it so peculiar the way that humans find fire to be such a dangerous element yet use it in most forms of celebrations. From candles on birthday cakes, fireworks on certain days, and lanterns in festivals, such a harmful thing amuses them in such different ways, despite them knowing the possible effects of using it. And all the creative ways they seem to use it in fascinates Theta, hence why they tend to linger in festivals and overall cheerful events, as the beauty of flames and the unique oxymoron of their significance takes their breath away. Yet, maybe it has to do with it's correlation with the stars, those fiery orbs in the sky that guided them for centuries.

what's their favourite thing about living on earth?:
Gin was born on a silent planet. Like all of his people Gin does not and cannot speak; but he never realized the strangeness of this until he crashed on Earth. He was immediately overwhelmed by this planet's loudness, by their languages and words and slang. His people had communicated in gestures and expression; they had never spoken aloud but never needed to. In his home there had been no arguments, no differences of opinions.

Initially he found it crude and outdated and so painfully slow. He took to observing the locals, to see them interact; and he learned that they had to be careful when they spoke, that they had to choose their words like one might choose blades, to wound or help or heal. As time went on and Gin developed an ear for it, an ability to understand (mostly) what the humans said, he found himself belatedly entertained. There was nothing quicker to make him laugh than watching a human putting their foot in their mouth. Though he is incapable of speaking he has learned the intricacies of sign language, and introduces himself as "Gin" to his human neighbours. It is the closest approximation he can find.
