Personality
[300 Words Max]
She's thought to be evil, one with a shadowed soul and a black heart. In reality, she's sweet. People think she's evil, so she plays along with it. Her shadows can clean off the flesh and blood off a person, leaving them as just bones. She only does it because people gave her a bad reputation. She has no friends, and in her past life, her family left her. They thought she was evil, someone that would hurt others for fun. She does want friends, though. And people who look to her as friends, she usually passes by them as they are nothing. So she lives up to her bad reputation, her evilness, and her 'shadowed soul'.

Vent Hunter
Story 1

[500 Words Max]
"It's there, sir! We have to find out what that is before we continue this mission! This creature lurks in the shadows. It'll hunt us down. It will catch us off guard." The soldier looking guy said to his boss, the other, more strict looking soldier guy. I smirked, eyes glowing brightly off the vent walls. I shifted into my shadow form, slipping into the room undetected, practically invisible to the human eye, to get a better listen.
"Calm down, Kero. We can finish this mission, but we have to ignore the problem as of right now. This creature will be too hard to find, anyway. Just finish the job I assigned you to." The boss said, turning and leaving the room, leaving the first soldier alone with his mates.
"Aye, that's quite unfortunate." I whispered, showing myself to them. The gasped, jumping backwards. One of them tripped on the other, knocking them both over. I just laughed more.
"W-What are you?" The first soldier asked. I teleported in front of the human, my nose almost touching his as he backed into the wall.
"Your worst nightmare." I laughed, the shadows off the walls grabbing and consuming him. All that was left was his skeleton, and the clothes that were still on him. I turned and raised my hand paw toward the door, where the other humans were running to. The shadows blocked the door so it wouldn't open. They turned back to me, hugging each other out of fear. Some were screaming, as well.
"P-please! Spare us! W-we didn't do a-anything..." One whined, as I neared them.
"You're right... oh well." I said, grinning evilly as the shadows consumed them as they did with the first human.

Later on in the day, I disappeared back into the vents. The same boss man entered the room once more, almost falling backwards from the scene in front of him. I giggled lightly, teleporting into the shadows beside him, still invisible to his, and his mate's, human eyes.
"What happened..." The boss guy asked, whipping around to face one of his mates, "What happened?! You were supposed to keep an eye on them! Not let them die!" He snapped. I tilted my head, listening in.
"I was, s-sir... I got video proof-" The one who was being yelled at said, pointing to the security camera in the same room, "we can look from there." My eyes widened as I stared at the camera.
'I can't be figured out...' I thought, then the shadows consumed the room, shocking the boss and the others. The cameras exploded before the shadows disappeared, and I looked back at them. They all stepped back, eyes filled with fear.
"This thing... is stronger than I thought... Start up the trucks, we have to get information on this thing." The boss said, stomping off.
"But boss-"
"Now." The boss snapped, continuing off to the trucks.

"Let the games begin." I snickered, then vanished.

Story Teller
Story 2

[500 Words Max]
"Stories?" A little girl asked her mother, while I sat in the tree above them.
"Do you want to read out some stories to her?" The father asked, sitting next to the campfire with them with a little boy who was sitting next to him.
'Do you two want to hear the story I have to tell?" The mother asked, while the two children nodded quickly. There was a teenager, though, who scoffed and crossed their arms, looking away. I huffed lightly because of their attitude, but listened in anyway.

"Once upon a time, there was a creature. The creature had black fur, and ran through the city, stealing food scraps and little children. This creature loved to hunt unsuspecting victims, and ones that were near death. The creature fed off of fear, and was said to strike fear into their victims, feed off of it, and tear off their flesh." The mother told, while the children hugged their father. The teenager looked over a bit, seemingly interested. I smiled and slithered down in the shadows, sitting behind everyone. I made myself invisible, so I wouldn't be spotted, knowing she was telling a story about me.

"Later on, this creature was caught by scientists. It was locked in a cage, and they said it looked somewhat like a raptor. The scientists did experiments, before putting it back in its cage. They did this everyday, until on day, the creature vanished. The scientists worried, as the cage was still locked, and there were no holes in the cage. 'You fools,' said a voice behind them, as they turned around to see the creature, 'Locking a shadow in a cage.' The scientists knew it didn't look the same, as their eyes were glowing, and there were markings on it that seemed to be a transparent type of white. It controlled the shadows, and it swallowed up the scientists, which made them fall, and it tore their flesh clean off. It laughed, before running out of the facility. It is said today to roam the shadows, to take people from under their beds, and to watch campers. They would wait until they fell asleep before taking them, too." The mother finished. I scanned over everyone, noticing their terrified faces. Even the teenager and the father were scared.
"Don't worry, kids, the story is just a story." The mother said. I laughed, appearing behind her.
"It'd be better for you if it was," I snickered, my snout basically resting on her shoulder, "Because all that you said was true."
"W-what the-!" The father yelled, standing in front of the two children, as the mother went over to protect the teenager who was paralyzed with fear. I eyed all of them, my grin widened as my eyes glowed.
"Now run." I hissed, watching the family of campers scream and run off. I just watched, grabbing and eating the bag of marshmallows, the fire outlining me as I did, sensing the great fear out of them.

Shadow Stalker
Story 3

[500 Words Max]
I sat on the desk of a room. It was black, and I was staring at the figure in the bed, analyzing them. The blue nightlight near them lightened the room a bit, outlining me, making me visible to them. Though no one entered, and they didn't wake up, so I was good. All I was doing, anyway, was seeing how the humans were even able to sleep with the loud traffic, or the noises in the apartments next door, or the party going on up on top of the roof. The figure moved, and started making loud, annoying noises. I jumped off the desk and inched closer.

'Where even is this noise coming from?' I thought to myself, sitting on the bed, 'their nose, their mouth, their stomach?' I huffed, whipping around to face the door as the knob started moving. I went invisible, getting off the bed to watch the other human come in. Then that human shook the other until they were awake. I tilted my head as the one that was sleeping groaned and rolled over to face them.
"What gives you the right to wake me up? Couldn't you tell I was perfectly asleep." The man snorted. The other man frowned, and crossed his arms.
"Yes, but you were snoring. Who gives you the right to snore?" The other barked, head tilted.
"I did!" The first man snorted back, rolling back over and pulling the blanket back over his head. "Now go away and let me sleep." He grumbled from under the covers, while the other man sighed and walked out of the room, shutting the door. I appeared again, looking at the man in bed.
"For a grown man, I didn't think you'd be sleeping with a nightlight. I thought you were a child when I first came in here." I said, jumping on the bed and looking down at the man. He pulled the covers down and stared up at me. It took him a little bit before he noticed what I was and fear struck him.
"Relax," I said, sitting down as he sat up, almost falling out of bed, "I'm not hear to steal you from your bed like the stories say."
"Your.. not?" He asked, and I nodded.
"Nope. If I was I wouldn't have said anything. I'm not the boogieman." I replied, shrugging. "People won't believe you if you said that you saw me and you weren't attacked, though." I added, as he calmed down.
"So... your not evil?"
"Nope. Just a science experiment gone wrong, I guess." I said, looking down.
"Oh. Also, I'm afraid of the dark, that's why I have the light."
"Why are you afraid?"
"Because of your, and other, stories." He replied. I nodded slowly, getting off the bed.
"Every once and a while, though," I said, "face your fears." I clapped my paws, the nightlight turning off, leaving the man who was still in bed, hugging the covers with fear running through him.

Name: Arius [uh-rye-us]
Gender: Male
Gender for breeding purposes: Male
Personality:

Arius would tell you he was born to a family of slaves. Slaves to humanity, he would say. His parents were performers, and through the first stages of his life so was he. His family wanted for nothing, and they lived for fame and glory. Like his parents, Arius was obsessed with pleasing the crowd above all else.

He was as vain then as he is now.
He was reckless, skilled, and hard-headed.
    Bold, brash, and showy.

Arius wanted nothing more than to follow in his parents' footsteps.
Until his life was turned upside down.
Until he woke up dead. You heard me correctly, he woke up dead.

Arius's garish nature got the best of him on a night with the nervous energy of the crowd permeating the air.
    He fell from a tightrope.

His parents mourned him, and never returned to the stage again.

But, as I said, Arius awoke.
    He was not the same.
He had seen things, he knew things. He wasn't the same being he was before.

He had been a soul floating aimlessly in darkness in the wake of despair and tragedy, suddenly dragged back to the light.

He was cold, unrepentant. Still as vain as he had ever been.

He only spoke when he had something important to say, standing above and on the edge of humanity just as he had once stood on the edge of a tightrope.
He never searched for his parents, valuing his strength and the purpose he has been given over his forgotten familial ties.

His purpose was both necessary and sinister all in one.
He embraced it with the open arms of a child.
He was free from who he had been before-- the weak boy that needed attention.
He was strong now. He was free.

    --------------------------------[298/300]
    -----------------------------Written by me.
Story:

The eyes will tell you a tale, a curious story, a horrible story
Before I begin, take heed I implore.
Do not let yourself rest, by listening you have joined yourself to the lore.
Now, are you still here? I warned you, you had a chance to disappear.
That was it, it will be too late to turn away, just as it was before.
That was it now, no more warning, nothing more.

You could feel your heart beating, couldn't you? Comfort fleeting.
You stood ramrod straight, hiding, what else were you to do?
There was darkness, of course, and pain you never before knew.
Still, you couldn't get a thought out, could you?
Silence. A silence noise could not tear.
Silence as if the world were on cue.
Could it have been harder to bear?

You turned, feeling hot breath on a neck covered in gooseflesh.
You nearly screamed-- but no one was there.
    The world, it was quiet.
Were you frightened? Absolutely. Never before as terrified as you were then.
Not a light in sight-- black as coal and dark as a starless night.
Was it even night? Could it be so?
Was it not just a matter of minutes ago
That you had seen your love, your darling love, before your fright?

Can you feel it? The sheer terror. The horrible pit
That has grown in your stomach? Are you able to swallow your fear?
I can answer that, no, you could never be free and clear.

It's him. It. Is it-- he-- the only light?
The deep red eyes that pierce the night?
Do you fear him? Do you welcome him?
Is he death, life, or something other?
    Mother? Father? Sister? Brother?
    Ally, or foe?
    Hope or woe?
Is it something you'll ever know?

Trust him, or fear him, it's all the same.
    Either way, who could blame?
He'll take you in his embrace-- who's to say it's a bad thing?
Perhaps he awaits you, his tail coiling.
You feel him, trying to find you, your blood running cold or boiling
You could embrace him easily enough... right?
You're lulled into trusting him, true?
Will you run away? As so few are able to do?

    Do you fight?
    Do you flee?
Do you stand your ground and plea?
Do you welcome him with open arms? With an open heart?
Do you think back to the start?
Does a ghost of a smile pass o'er your lips?
Do you think you have come to grips?

Don't turn, or scream, or say a word.
You feel him now, him having been spurred
By my simple tale. Don't move. Don't breathe. Perhaps he'll pass by.
Be nothing more than a frightening memory in your mind's eye.
Remember, you are never safe. My tale could-- and one day will--
Be about you. You'll have the same story, feel the same thrill.
After all, no one, not the rich, the poor, the large, or the small
    Can escape death's call.

    --------------------------------[499/500]
    -----------------------------Written by me.

Story 2:

    Where am I?
    Why can't I see?
Why is it so dark here?

Arius tries to suck in a breath-- panicking when he doesn't feel air pass through his teeth and into his lungs.

    Am I dead?
God, why did I do something so stupid?

He thinks he remembers falling, and pain, and nothingness.

If he was dead, how could he feel the flesh and fur rise along his spine?
If he was dead-- how could he be so afraid?

I'm nothing but a scared child.

Perhaps that's all he is. A useless, scared child. Perhaps that's what he had always been.
Doubt and fear plague him-- the distasteful scent of it clings to him like dew to a lonely blade of grass.
He opens his eyes again and hears a gasp escape his throat at the sight before him-- even if he can't feel the intake of breath.

    Everything is red.
Everything had been black just moments before-- but everywhere his eyes could see, everything the light touches, is a deep crimson. Even his own paws, as he looks to them, are as red as blood.

    He doesn't understand.

    I don't understand?

How could he? One moment he was falling through the air, then there was nothing, and then...
And then there was everything, covered in a ghastly color.
That wasn't the worst of it. He was surrounded by horrors soon after.
    Ones he would always remember.
    Ones he wants to forget.
Ones that, eventually, he will no longer care that he cannot forget.

    Is this a nightmare?
    Is this hell?
    It's certainly not heaven.

Arius can no longer feel the gooseflesh crawling up his limbs. He can no longer feel the terror creeping up his spine.

Why couldn't I die in peace?

He feels as if he has never known anything else, after a while. With all the terrors before him, he starts to grow numb.

    There's nothing left for me.

    "But there is, my child."

Arius doesn't know if the voice is in his head, or if he's hearing it over the yowls and screams in the currently dark void he's experiencing.

What could be left for me? I am nothing!

"You are everything!" the voice somehow hisses and booms at the same time.

    I was never anything.

"Where is that fire, pup?" the voice comes out in a growl "Your spirit!?"

    I have no spirit left!

His own voice echoes, even though he never uttered a word. It booms back into his ears. The noise level rises higher and higher until his mind is abuzz with pain. Pain, and a warmth that runs from his ears down past his neck and disappears. He cannot scream-- he still cannot even breathe. He's floating listlessly.

This is a nightmare. Will I ever awaken?

It goes like this. Hours, or months, of the same. Time seems to stand still for the poor tortured soul.
Eventually, he accepts a deal with the voice, and he returns from the terrors.
