The brain is a sensitive place. It's a place of thought, of reason, of conscience. By definition, it's an organ of
soft nervous tissue contained in the skull of vertebrates, functioning as the coordinating centre of sensation a
nd intellectual and nervous activity. We reply on our brain for survival- because without it, who would we be?
No one? The brain and its intellectual capacity is what makes us... us. We are trapped in our own head, being
able to actively tap into that true voice, that true self. Our thoughts shape our spaces, while our spaces
shape our thoughts. In order to develop our brains, we must develop the spaces in which they dwell. By harne
ssing the power of our environment, we're able to create spaces which benefit our mind, body and soul. This
is Kielders speciality.
Allowing time to spend considerable periods of time tucked away in remote areas, he has the ability to medi
ate the contents of his conscience. He interacts, he studies, and he connects with his environment. Doing this
gives him purpose; how does the natural world work? Are we less complex than the trees and the flowers? Are
they the true sculptors of our technologies? What if plants had feelings? Were insects really created to take o
ver our minds and rule the world? Hold on a moment, that doesn't sound right... Yes, you may think that we h
ave less things to worry about than a fly or a spider, but Kielder believes that we should be paying more attent
ion to these small "monsters."
Entomophobia: the excessive or unrealistic fear of one or more class of insect. He may not believe it and hate
to admit it, but this is exactly what Kielder suffers from. The forests and jungles in which he has taken residen
ce to have really impacted on his train of thought. Thus, evident that our spaces shape our thoughts. As a resul
t, his left ear flickers uncontrollably whenever it is touched. Whether it be from a paw, tree branch or even the
wind, there's no doubt that all of these trigger the irresistible urge to flick. It all comes down to the thought of
tiny bugs are constantly digging their way through his ear canal, drilling into his skull and aiming to abduct his
entire being.
