How did they get that alien snake;

Cher invaded a kingdom under siege and stole their 'power stone'. Cher nearly was killed but escaped with her life and the power stone. The stone was comfortably hidden in her fur when she heard the stone... cracking?
Cher took out the stone it almost immediately broke with a large beam of light. Once the blinding light cleared a small alien snake lied in its place.
Her heart melted and took them wherever she went, the snake would always be comfortably nestled in Cher's neck.
"I think I'll call them Quin"
and that day she didn't only find a new companion.. she had learned the meaning of love and trust <3
