How do the relax?: (fixing up and continuing an older form)
Everyone has demons. They haunt you and beckon you to come to the edge so they can just pull you in. Caravan can cope, however it may not be the most effective form of methods.
xxxxEver since he was a young boy, there always have been events that caused him great sadness. His go-to method was to just talk about it. Spilling out all his evils and fears kept himself from tipping over. Then, he started to write. Loose papers started to pile up. He bought a filing cabinet just to order them. To the public eye, he was just happy. He kept it that way, just pouring his heart out to remove the demons he couldn't tame.
xxxxIf there are no books or paper around, he struggles to stay happy. In a pinch, breathing deeply and controlling his air flow helps him calm down when he's worked up. He might go and buy himself something, like a new hat, or a couple of new books.
xxxxCaravan thinks about every action he is going to commit to, and acts accordingly if he thinks it will break his heart. This tends to lead him away from romantic relationships or cutting them off early. It's almost a coping method, because if you separate yourself from any possibility sadness, it can't get back to you, especially if it was never there to begin with

celery likes going on hikes, heading out to meadows, or enjoying the beach when she gets stressed out. basically, her get away is to get outside and soak up some sunshine and fresh air. she finds it easiest to clear her head outdoors and to think rationally when the pressure is on. it helps her reevaluate all of the "to-do's" in her life and organize them based on priority and importance. she takes a small journal with her, sometimes it's a sketchbook, sometimes its sticky notes, and she writes down all the things she has to get done. putting things into lists helps her feel more on top of things, and when her load gets overwhelming, it usually helps to visualize it on paper and suddenly her mountain of tasks seems much more manageable.

what helps them to relax?;; (844/Unlimited Words)

To say that there is but one way to relax is somewhat of a lie. For Harlow, at least, there is about three or four different ways to rest after a stressful day at work. She believes one of the ways she relaxes to be a bit silly as it is hardly different than her day job. Yet, somehow the monotonous job of taking pictures of disgruntled families and screaming children is easily beaten by taking pictures of the world around her. Plus, as she likes to tell herself, there is a key difference in working with a digital camera and uploading the pictures to a computer, to working with an old, outdated camera and developing the film herself.
It is during certain days where there hasn't been much work, that she finds enough time to wander the streets with her favorite older camera in hand, supported only by the slightly torn fabric cloth that wrapped around her neck as if she was wearing a strange necklace. She would then wander through the seaside city, taking pictures of this and that, and perhaps stop at the beach if she truly felt up to listening to more children scream, to take pictures of the seagulls as they tried to steal a meal from an oblivious tourist. She would continue in this manner until the film ran out, then return home to her makeshift dark room to develop the film herself. Adding the newly made pictures to her collections of others that were pinned upon her walls.

This form of relaxing could, at times, be stressful too. So, during the days when Harlow hardly felt up to walking for hours. She would instead take to crafting whatever it may be that caught her eye on the internet, the various posts on "how to do it yourself!"s and "step-by-step instruction videos!" Always caused her eyes to linger and her mind to work together how fun it would be to create the random bowl made of strings or that pelican made of paper (which sadly didn't turn out as planned). These crafts on their own were sometimes boring, if not for the background sounds of an old detective film playing in black and white upon an old TV. She knew the film's script by heart and would sometimes mime the scenes as she cut away at fabric cloths and wondered if she would ever get the glitter out of the couch.

Likewise, another form of relaxing came in the act of creating something new. Various websites declared that they could make you a 5-star chief in no time. Harlow hardly believed such claims, but, the more she cooked the better she became at it and soon she found another form of relaxing. While the old films played in the background, now paired with the sizzling pan or the bubbling pot, instead of the snipping of scissors and the spilling of glitter.

Yet, as always, the idea of doing something was tiresome indeed. It was on these dreary days where everything was too much and all was too loud, that Harlow would not turn on the TV, she would not cook and only eat the leftovers she made the day before or perhaps order some pizza, she would ignore her half-finished crafts and instead sit upon her bed or near her windows and listen to the world outside. Wondering if there was a volume button for it. It was then that she would pluck from her shelves one of the many books she had read before, leafing through the worn-out pages, and begin idly reading through them again. The books themselves were of various genre, from old mysteries and horror to silly childhood tells of young girls wanting to save the ranch or farm by some use of a farm animal they had befriended. It was in these moments that Harlow could relax without thinking, reading the books were like putting on a pair of well-fitting gloves or a warm sweater. Harlow believed that it was perhaps this form of relaxing that was truly relaxing, though after the moment of stress and panic did pass, she would turn to the window and wonder what sort of things she could take a picture of today, or maybe wonder about a meal she had read in a magazine, or wonder about the half-finished craft that looked as if it could be in a horror story or a mystery novel itself...

It was then that momentary escape from the world was finished and she found herself wondering and wandering about again. Doing the other things that she took joy in and feeling ready to face another day of disgruntled families with their screaming children who wanted to capture a "happy moment" of them all together. When in reality, Harlow knew, that these happy moments could not be forced and could easily be found in a good book, in a silly craft, or some delicious food, or even in the faded film of cameras from an era past.

what helps them to relax?; Inky gardens! She has a proper green thumb, and she absolutely loves flowering plants, fruits, veggies, and herbs. She has a ton of cute, trendy little pots and planters all around her dwelling. When she gets stressed out or just a little tightly-wound, Inky tends to her plant children. She waters, prunes, harvests, and talks to them until each one looks perfect. Usually, by the time her garden is looking spiffy, Ink's feeling much better herself.

what helps them to relax?; Henry goes through quite a process when she gets stressed. First off, she doesn't really even know she's stressing about something until it's really bad; and we're talking legs feel numb, stomach is in knots, and she almost has a headache sort of anxiety that tells her she is, in fact, stressed.

So, how does she handle it? She's obviously bad at catching it early on, so Henry simply..breathes. To start, anyway, she reminds herself to take some calm breaths to (hopefully) relax herself enough to think clearly. After that, she tries to locate the problem(s) exactly that are causing her stress.

Once she's calm enough to think, and identify, depending on the problem she will A. Talk to someone, ask their advice, and resolve the issue. If it's a bit more complicated than that, such as Henry being overwhelmed with upcoming events or not knowing how to handle a personal situation, she may try to arrange plans with friends as a healthy distraction. Along with this, she will keep reminding herself that it'll be okay, she'll get through it, etc, until she believes herself. It may take a while, but she always comes out feeling more confident and better prepared for future anxieties!
