The cold began to nip at the climbers' skins through their thick, downy clothes. They drove on, their destination so very close at hand. Winds whispered into their ears, either their fears terrorizing them, or their passions urging them on. One hesitates- a companion tugs at them to come along. It is almost a matter of life or death, and none of them wanted even a peek at the latter.

It was perhaps minutes before one of them gave a throaty cough, clearing his deep voice, and in a tired but clearly excitable manner announced, "Welcome, kids, to the top of Mount Everest."

As Bob pulled up his friends, his light delirium made the blood in his veins feel as if they were hotter than ever before. This was it- the top of Mount Everest. He'd told everybody he was going, and he even told everybody that he'll also become the first to do what he does best on that mountain. By the last of his companions, he looked around for a suitable spot.

"You'll have to do it quickly, Bobby. We can't stay up here all day."

"I know, I know, just give me some time..."

The guide stood as he watched them come together in some sort of strange ritual. They opened their backpacks, handing one another tools, pieces, junk. In a surprisingly small amount of time they completed their project, and stood away as they watched Bob set the bicycle upright.

"Got your camera ready, pops?"

He nodded. A girl took out her own phone, but the guide shook his head. "It won't work- I'll send ya a pic when we go back, kid."

Revving it up so it didn't freeze in that instant, Bob hopped on before doing what he'd always aspired to do on his meager time on Earth.

He did a sick wheelie on Mount Everest.

cool story:: (425/500) There was no concern on Modus’ face as he stood under the stage lights. He was well collected, at ease, certainly quite cool. It had been a once in a life time offer to walk this runway, to wear clothing made by such a famous fashion designer. Pity. Modus hardly remembered his name. His only concern was that others would remember him.
He walked with purpose, makeup upon his face and hair styled just so, he looked beautiful. He was certain of it. The eyes that watched him, watched him not for the clothing he was wearing, but him. He was sure of it. Modus had always been hard to miss in a crowd, he stood out, a perfect picture of beauty, the very definition of “cool.” It was all going so well, everything was right, yet that was the way it worked before something went terribly, horribly, wrong.
Modus slipped.
As he hit the ground he knew that the eyes that admired him seconds before now looked at him with their own pity, their mockery, and their hushed voices would surely carry foul words about him. He pushed himself up from the ground, acted as if that was merely part of his performance, it appeared to work. Despite Modus thinking moments before that he was certainly uncool, the falsehood of his performance somehow convinced the crowd to believe that his fall was all part of it. What was he displaying again? The lineup for autumn wear, wasn’t it? How delightful then that he could pretend his fall was simply symbolic for autumn! He faked a grin that was certainly true, but appeared staged and false, while natural upon his face. The audience would believe it was not a grin of triumph but one of performance. Modus shifted his weight, to appear sitting, almost dazed, as if he had been a leaf flicked from the tree, carried off by the wind, in turn he flicked his wrist, untangled his legs from beneath him, and returned to standing in such a smooth and flawless motion that he believed there was a small hint of awe arising from the crowd. He faked a smirk as he faked his grin, he gave a little bow - however could he refuse to? -before he strutted down the runway and left the crowd now without him. Pity. They would not get to see him again for a short while, but what a delight it was! To have turned something as uncool as a fall into something quite cool after all!

cool story:: a cold chill shivered through kitty's spine. it was time.
her eyes scanned the horizon, looking at all her peers cheering her on and making snide bets, paws gripping gold coins and notes, eyes alight with anticipation. of course the lake would freeze right when she said she'd jump into it. of course, everyone else thought it was pure entertainment, completely disregarding the fact that she could get hypothermia or pneumonia. but hey, she did it to herself.
kitty was known as the daredevil of the class; that one kal that would do anything as long as it involved risks. but man, this was too much.
it was too late to back out, anyway. kitty knew doing so would risk her popularity and status, no matter how stupid that may be. she was sixteen for god's sake; she should be studying, not jumping into an ice cold lake of death. she sighed, realising her fate. she had to do this. her money counted on it. kitty took a few steps back, readying herself for a run-up. another big breath in, and she ran. it wasn't exactly usain bolt-like running, but it was good enough for her. the cheers of the small crowd around her spurred kitty on, and before she knew it, she was flying through the air, landing into an ice bucket, effectively taking away her breath. fighting her way to the surface, kitty ignored the burning pins that covered her skin, and paddled away, trying not to swallow the water. her head broke through the surface, and she shook her majestic blue hair, ignoring the cheers from around her. (kitty was pretty good at ignoring)
she quickly paddled her way to the edge, where her friend awaited her with a towel and a large grin.
"duuuuuuuuuuuude, that was epic!!" they exclaimed, as kitty shook herself off violently and sniffled, unhappy with the fact that she was already nearly an icicle. "yeah, yeah." she mumbled, grabbing the handfull of coins and counting them eagerly. what a way to make five dollars.

Cool huh? You wanna hear cool? Well let's tell you about the time I... Hmm... How about... Oooh, how about the time I almost died! Okay, so it was dark outside, rain was falling like there was no tomorrow, and two of my friends were over. Bubbles, who had just gotten home from work, was spread across the couch, typical Bubbles style. Carson was sitting at the table and reading a book. We were waiting for Kato and Jaden to get there. After about twenty minutes of pacing, there was a soft knock at the door. I'd dashed to the door and pulled it open, just as a clap of thunder made the house shake. Jaden was standing there, dripping wet, his face a look of pure misery, while Kato was a ball of excitement. "Who's ready for the best night ever?!" He'd exclaimed, letting himself in. "You're a half hour late." I had pointed out as Jaden shook off, covering us all in water. Kato shrugged and ran to the table. "I brought snacks!" He'd cried, pulling out three bags of Doritos and 5 cans of pop. I didn't even bother to ask how he'd managed to fit all that in his bag. So we'd all gathered around the table as Kato got all his stuff together. He began to read and the scene around us transformed to a dark, damp dungeon. We were surrounded by goblins and there was nowhere to go. Bubbles was first. She and her sword tore through two of the goblins and then it turned to me. Getting my staff out, I threw my all at the goblin closest to me, but it didn't go as planned. The goblin dodged and turned to me, swiping its massive arm at me and pinning me against the wall. If it weren't for Carson, I'd have been toast. He'd taken that goblin out and saved my sorry butt.

Vex loves the water. The rougher, the better. They lived for that sharp thrill, the adrenaline rush that came with diving into a fast current. Of course they didn't do canoes. psh, what sissy would do that? Vex much preferred to simply jump straight into the water and paddle, not really caring much for water in their ears.

But this swim was bound to be the best! Celestial Falls, which had an almost 50-foot drop, was on the menu. It was definitely going to be fun, and also dangerous. Fifty feet, without training, would kill someone. The water would feel like slamming into concrete! That is, if you didn't know how to land! And Vex knew. All they'd need to do was land with their paws first, and at worse, a few of their paw-bones might break, but still! Flying off a waterfall? Best idea!

With the swim only minutes away, Vex was all too happy to jump into the fast-moving stream, years of swimming in rough currents letting them easily stay up top, only having to dive when a current passed by a large boulder or two. Other than that, the water was fast, but not that bad. The falls, though... the roar started dull, almost faint, and quickly ramped up in volume. Vex was getting too excited, the cool water making them shiver in excitement.

The first few seconds of freefall was exhilarating. Water roared in their ears, they felt the wind go through their paws... And the rough water below was getting slowly closer and closer... Vex hit the water with the front of their paws, the impact stinging a bit, but the rest of them was safe and unharmed! The tune of the water changed underwater, the waterfall again a dull, throbbing roar, and Vex took a few powerful strokes, not wanted to be caught by the fall's currents and dragged deeper into the waves for far longer than they wished.

It took a few more seconds than Vex wanted, but they finally surfaced, able to take a breath as they paddled slowly downstream. Now, to find a good landing spot to shake themself off before they climbed up to go home...

In hindsight, it probably wasn't the best idea for Ethan to tell the entire school that he'd jump a row of cars on his bike in the parking lot. Did Ethan think of how everyone would assume he was being serious and would gather to wait for him outside? He sure didn't. That's where Ethan found himself at the moment, on his bike a few feet from a crudely built ramp that someone from wood shop had apparently made. "Do a flip!" someone from the crowd shouted, earning an echo of agreement. As if there wasn't already a ton of pressure on him.

Ethan took a deep breath, and went to begin pedaling. As the wheels from his bike lifted off the edge of the ramp it seemed as if time slowed down. He could feel his heart nearly stop as he realized he may hit the final car in his landing, but before he could blink he made it to the other ramp. Congratulatory shouts erupted from the mass of Kalons. Some even rushed up to give him high-fives.

"Are you okay?" "Were you scared?" "Did it feel awesome up there?" Ethan was bombarded with questions. He would have answered them, but the adrenaline was still pumping through his veins. He felt as if he were still floating through the air, and all the words being said to him seemed to go in one ear and out the other. That is until a very unsettling voice rose through the shouts.

"Stop it right there, mister!" None other than the principal was marching their way toward the scene, and just like that the huge crowd dispersed like a group of startled deer. That left only Ethan there, sitting frozen on his bike like a deer in headlights. "You're going to come explain yourself in my office."

As Ethan begrudgedly walked back toward the school with a sinking feeling in his chest, a shout from a passing car could be heard. "All hail the king of cool! Lemme hear three shouts for him!" A chorus of 'whoops' could be heard from other cars and other passing Kalons. This brought a smile to Ethan's face, but his principal didn't find this as amusing.

"The King of cool, ay? Well you know where cool people go?" His principle asked.

"No, where do cool people go?" Ethan asked, even though he already knew where this conversation was most likely going.

"They go to cool detention. And do you know what else cool people get?"

"Nope."

"A cool phone call to their cool parents telling them all about the cool things they did after school. Does that sound good to you? Or should I say, does that sound cool to you?"

"Yeah, that sounds super cool to me."

"Great, because you don't have a choice in the matter, Mr. King of Cool."

Ethan let out a sigh, it's not always easy being cool. What's he supposed to do if he's just too cool for school? [500/500]
