Milla lives near the water, and every day rises early in order to see the sun rise. It is such a magnificent thing, really. Watching the light blue sky just above the horizon on the seemingly endless water, suddenly lit up with fire as the sun comes back to make it's daily rounds. It was by far the favorite part of Milla's day. In the summer, she would sit there resting on the sand with a glass a pink lemonade and enjoying the beauty of nature. That time, when the sun's first rays reach the sandy beach, is truly peace for Milla. And she never has to be sad about it being over, for she knows the sun will be back to make its stunning entrance the next day.

4:30 AM — another morning; dawn still hasn't split the horizon yet. the air is quiet and the world has barely come to life. the dull, sleepy heartbeat of a city thumps steadily toward the new day. lai rises at 3 AM, and by 4:30 everything is soft yet brimming with anticipation. their lungs fill with the soft hum in the air.
the barista is still groggy, and so wonderfully, nakedly human.. more than she will be in just an hour or two. cars trickle through the streetlights, on journeys untold. this is the time of adventures, a time of beginning. lai has to close their eyes in an attempt to relish their racing heart, the excitement stemming from anticipation for the day still untold. they walk through the airport terminal, another day on the job, another journey to be had.

June's favorite hour is the often forgotten hour of 2 a.m. - that is, exactly 2 a.m. Although she loves nothing more than the sun and the soft white clouds of the day, there is a sort of magic that goes along with the softer, reflective light of the moon and stars. Even the breeze is different - gentler, as if it was sneaking past her on it's way to create the chill that would bless the earth with morning dew. June loves the gentle silence, and the way life itself seems to pause itself at the exact hour. An hour between morning light and evening dark - an odd hour, a magical hour, and lastly, June's favorite hour. (118/200)

7:00 A.M., she wakes up, eyes half-closed and brain hazy, the sun pours in through the window, tingeing her already vibrant roseate-colored fur with a gentle yellow tint. She gets out of bed, stretching and smiling as she sees it's yet another light, clear day, the sunrise is beautiful as per usual. She follows it, the sunrise, she's follows it every morning she can behold it. Being led down a path she has cleared for herself she says "hello" to her neighbors as well as the surrounding wildlife. It's the type of thing you'd see in a Disney movie really, if you don't count the trips, falls, and "gosh darnnit!"s that follow. She finally arrives at her destination, a botanical garden developed by her mother in her earlier years. It was, always, her mother's dream to brighten up this dreary woodland town. She arrives at her destination, a large, beautiful patch of flowers, the color of her, the flowers of which she was named, Magnolias. She just loves to chase the sunrise, at 7 A.M..
