Although mercury, Venus, mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were named during ancient times, because they were visible to the naked eye , the Roman method of naming planets was reintroduced after the discovery of Uranus and Neptune.

have you ever felt like you were standing still, and just knew that you were as solid and non-moving as a rock? well, you are actually moving all the time- fast. depending on where you are in the world, you could be spinning in space at barely over 1,000 mph. people who live on the equator move quicker than anyone else, but anyone standing perfectly on the north or south pole would be moving the least. it's like a basketball spinning on your finger.
oh, yeah, and the earth isn't just spinning; it's moving around the sun at 67,000 mph [or 107,826 km].
