As much as I wanted this beeb, I was going to let it go but... there doesn't seem to be as much interest as I thought so I'm going for it anyway P: Username: Strudel
Name: Basilisk "Basil"
Gender: Male
Personality:
Basil is a very quiet and intelligent soul, often seen in peaceful contemplation. He is a curious fellow, and when he does speak it is usually only to ask/answer a question or say something rather profound. He can be a bit calculating, so he tends to watch his surroundings before making a move. On the other side of the coin, however, when he is fixated on something he can also be rather impulsive. It's as if he has two sides to his personality sometimes, when he is more himself and when he is rash and acts out. Usually the latter ends up one of two ways; he gets what he wants or he gets in heaps of trouble. He almost always regrets his split-second choice either way. He's been known to occasionally offend someone with blunt, thoughtless words and he has been known to take a thing or two that wasn't his. Again, he tends to regret these actions even when they yield positive results. He doesn't make friends easily, and he attributes this to him tending to be quiet most of the time, and blunt when he isn't. Not having friends used to upset him quiet a lot, but now that he has Boris (his stuffed bear) by his side it doesn't hurt him nearly as much or as often. "Obtaining" Boris is one of the few things he doesn't regret doing when being rash.

Story:
Basil loves lights and sounds. It gives him something to focus on while he's making decisions or thinking on something. So, of course when he could hear people screaming in delight and see flashing lights in the distance he had to check it out. The first thing he saw, was a large moving ring with lights across it, dancing as the machinery moved. He didn't know what it was, but he sat mesmerized for quite some time before moving closer.
He could smell food, and people. Lots of people
'But what could it hurt?' he thought
'Humans aren't really that dangerous.'He had dealt with humans before, a time or two, one had cared for him for a while when he was really small, before they had released him once more. That human had been a good man, and was trying to release him so that he could fend for himself. The man hadn't known that he would never grow any bigger, that he was too small to be on his own really in this unforgiving world. Thankfully, he was smart enough, even if he wasn't big enough. He didn't remember his parents, not that he cared to, obviously they had never done anything for him anyhow. They either abandoned him or they were dead, he chose not to dwell on it. Except... it was a little hard as he watched the families mill past, or wait in line for... something in front of those machine.
No one seemed to notice him.
He slipped through the crowd, most of the humans were too preoccupied to even see him. A few felt him as he brushed by, but they didn't really look at him. They must have thought his was a cat. Once child noticed him, and threw a bit of food to him, but he ignored it and continued on, knowing human children were the hardest to get away from. He didn't stop for very long in once place until he saw a most-intriguing thing. There were humans, two of them, younger ones. They were in front of a wooden bar, and the male was throwing green balls at bottles. Basil tilted his head, confused, as he watched them. He heard the male complain about something, and then hand over some paper to the man behind the bar. The man handed the young male more of the green balls as the female clung to this young male's arm. Honestly Basil wasn't concerned about the humans as much as the green balls. He wanted to catch one, but he didn't dare chase one into there and catch that much attention.
The male and the female both seemed to celebrate after a moment, and the man behind the counted picked up a large creature from behind the bottles.
A bear. A large, pink bear.
Basil's eyes lit up as he watched the young woman cling to the giant teddy. Something about the teddy called to him, and he followed them for the next hour. Neither seemed to notice.
It wasn't until they were outside of the large crowds that the female dropped the bear onto the grass just outside of the fair. In that split second, Basil made a decision. He mad-dashed toward the bear, grabbing it's enormous foot with his teeth and dragging it backward. As large as it was, it wasn't heavy thankfully. Still, it was an awkward kind of weight, so before he even had it ten feet back his impulsiveness was fading and the fear kicked in. It was too late now though, he continued to drag the bear as the two teens watched in shock. Neither of them made a move to take the bear from him, they just simply watched the small viscet drag off the giant teddy bear by the foot, their eyes wide in astonishment.
It wasn't until Basil was out of sight that either of them said anything "What in the... heck just happened?" the male looked to the girl clinging beside him.
"Was that a viscet? Like a baby one?" the male asked, and the female nodded for a moment before busting out laughing.
"I think it can keep it! It was too cute. I wish I had gotten a picture!"
While the humans went home and shared this story with others, Basil brought the bear back to his den, cleaning it the best he could before setting it down on his bed of leaves.
"I think I'll name you Boris." he said after a few quiet moments "You look like a Boris."
Basil frowned after a moment "But where will I sleep?" he questioned before growing quiet again. He tapped the ground with his paw before a look crossed his face. He had an idea. He gently pushed the bear's large paw off of it's belly before settling in to sleep on it's legs. It was comfortable. He smiled 'Yes, I think this will work just fine.' he thought before looking up at the bear's smiling face.
"Goodnight, Boris."

About Basil's real name;
When Basil was first found by Seth, the human that took him in for the time, he was frozen in place. Just standing by the street. He was just a little pup, couldn't have been more than a couple of months old. However, when Seth approached him, the young viscling glared to him with an icy stare. Seth had chuckled at the young viscling, saying "Your gaze is about as inviting as a basilisk's." before approaching him cautiously and picking it up. After that, he took to calling the viscling Basilisk, he had no other name for his young charge. It wasn't until Seth released him into the wild that Basilisk decided to start going by Basil.
