They have this one item from their birthday, its a teddy bear with a sparkly bow tie, it has a heart patterned scarf and Nina is in love with it, sometimes if it has a rip she sows it back, she had got it from her grandma, a couple days later she died of a terrible illness. So the teddy bear is very, very loved and close in her view, like its her grandma reborn.

A Small Metal Key
Nivea is an orphan. She was the only member of her family to escape from a forest fire when she was 6. It was her birthday, and she had just gotten her first present, which was a small wooden box and key. When the fire sprang up, she ran with her family. As the smallest, she was also the fastest, and she outran her parents in a heartbeat. not noticing that they weren't behind her, she made it to a cave, and by the point she turned around to show her parents, they were gone. She hid in the cave until the fire burned out, emerging into the desolate wasteland that was once her home. Nivea made her way back to her family's meadow, only to find that everything was burnt. Everything except one small metal key, upon which a quote was engraved.
"Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it."
Nivea allowed herself one small, sad smile and one small, sad tear before picking up the metal key and staring at the stars. From that moment forward, she was going to change her outlook on life. She just didn't know it yet.

Most cherished item? Why?; Sterling's most cherished item is a patched quilt that his mother began making when he was young. Unbeknownst to him she saved every significant piece of clothing he outgrew and every favored toy he threw out. From them she would cut out squares of material and sewed them together into a blanket. There's his first outfit when he was first born, various outfits he wore to family weddings or graduations, a few scraps from a stuffed bunny he used to sleep with, and endless other fabrics that only she would be able to recall and list by name. This quilt was kept a secret to him until adulthood where it was gifted to him from his dear mama. Upon pulling out the blanket and holding it over himself, eyes running over the multi-colored squares, he began to recognize a few of the materials with a quivering lip. He has a knack for being sentimental; he keeps ticket stubs from movies and has photographs with friends lining the walls of his bedroom. To be able to have such a gift-- one that marks his transitions from childhood to adulthood-- means the world to him. He thanked her endlessly for the gift and to this day can be found curled up with it over him as he sleeps.

Lucy can't go anywhere without the small blue blanket with ducks on it from when she was a child. Lucy grew up in a small town where they had very little and could afford very little. She knew from the moment she was able to understand words that her life wouldn't be grand. At the age of five, she lost her mother, and at the age of six, her father followed closely behind. She was taken in by the owner of a small business in her hometown, and her life turned upside down. Now she had too many things and couldn't keep track of herself. Amidst all the chaos of adjusting to her new life, Lucy found a small, torn up blanket that she recognized quickly. Her mother had given it to her days before she died. Now that Lucy is an adult with a job as a news reporter, she carries he small blanket around with her everywhere on her job, vowing to show her mother the world that they never could see when Lucy was younger.
