it's Groundhog Day! and Wiarton Willie up here in Canada-land didn't see his shadow! woohoo! an early spring!

for this competition, i'd like to know whether or not they like an early spring, or prefer 6 more weeks of winter!
and just for fun, i'd like to see a groundhog gif as well!

Explain: Toby prefers early spring over a longer winter because he always gets sick during the winter. He'll get over one sickness then two days later he'll get another and he absolutely hates it, so if it's between having more winter or more spring. Toby is always going to pick more spring.

Hanzel far prefers the nice crisp warmness of an early spring over the damp biting cold that six more weeks of winter would bring. One of the few viscets hatched late in the summer, the sun's heat runs through his veins. He thrives during the long warm summer months. Even on the hottest days, when the sun shines down relentlessly on his desert home and bakes even the toughest of reptiles alive, he couldn't be more happy. He thrives in the heat. As soon as the days start to grow shorter, and winter creeps into the air though, he is miserable. Even the slightest bit of chill in the air seeps through his coat and into his bones, turning him into a shivering mess. For him, it's the winter months that are unbearable. He's forced to spend them locked inside his den, bundled up in blankets and laying in front of the roaring fire. It's for this reason that he vastly prefers it when the groundhogs predict an early spring. Because spring means warmth. It means light. It means just a few more weeks until summer - his favorite time of year.

Frankly, I do not know why anyone would ever want a long winger! It is so bitter and cold, and that stupid snow always finds itself in my burrow only to melt and get my treasures all wet, not to mention my paws!! Wet paws are the worst! At least with rain I can simply set up a well placed leaf, but with snow it brings ice which spreads and is freezing! I always try to hibernate when that wretched season comes around, because who would ever want to deal with that disgusting white powder! Apparently, however, viscets cannot hibernate, which is the dumbest thing ever but whatever I guess, just leaves me wishing I was a ground hog or bear. Rather than hibernate, I just work all summer and fall to gather food to carry me through winter, then when that dumb powder begins to fall I hole myself up in my burrow with my food to sleep and eat the days away until winter comes around. The only thing I hate more than winter is others who dare to try and touch or take my things, and even then the two are practically neck and neck.

Spring is nice, but I prefer winter for so many different reasons. To begin, the snow is just beautiful. The way it shimmers like glitter on the earth when the sunlight reflects off of it, and the way that it highlights the beauty of the moon is simply mystifying to me, and I love to watch it as the phases of the sky change.
Another reason is the way it feels. It is so soft and fluffy, like the down of an owl or the cotton within a teddy bear. I love to fling it up into the sky and watch it drift down slowly, as if it were snowing once more.
Finally, when I see the glistening of snow I know that countless games are to be played! I could sled, make snow angels, create a snow-cet and wage a war with it, hide in tree tops and drop snow on unsuspecting deer, the possibilities are endless! When I see snow I do not think of dread or cold, but joy and happy memories to be made.

Scooter loves the spring, there's so much more to do in spring, the birds chirping and the grass growing, and no more cold cold nights and days! Scooter isn't a big fan of the snow or ice, and always preferred indoor to outdoor games in the cold, probably because of his small size and grumpy nature when he was stuck inside for days at a time, and the prospect of spring was so far away.

For that reason alone Scooter loves the spring, and the earlier the better! Spring meant having adventures outside without worry that he might get too cold or lost in the snow. It meant picnics and friends and walks int he park. And the ever so important friend nights, where he would get to spend nights in the woods with friends, on little camping trips away from home.

Oh how he wished for a beautiful warm spring to hurry up and be there already.
