"Oh come on Helios, please?"
Ida gave her nephew a pleading gaze, as if this really, really mattered to her, and the male stared at her before sighing, and shaking his head - he was defeated, he couldn't keep saying no to her.
She was rather persuasive.
"Alright aunt Ida, but not right now...mum will kill me if she knows that I let you do this." he murmured, sorting his weapons into their right places. "After I'm done here, which will be a few hours."
Ida was almost tempted to plea for more time to get his costume ready, but decided that the little time she would have would be enough, and she just grinned, patting his head before making her way off.
Helios could only stare helplessly at the blade he held...why had he agreed in the first place?

Upon finishing with his work, Helios left, only to be seemingly attacked by a white sheet on his first step out, causing him to jump and yell...what was this?
"Calm down Helios, its your costume!"
He fell calmer at that, allowing his aunt to straighten the costume until he was peering out of two cut-out holes. It took him a few moments to notice, but then he scowled.
"A bed sheet for a ghost costume? Really? Is this the best you can do."
"Well not really, but you left me no time so this will have to do." Ida pointed out, patting his head. "I think you make a very charming ghost, I don't think you could scare anyone away with that attitude."
Helios felt a little cross at the remark, but simply shook his head before smiling. "I can scare twice as many kids as you have in your lifetime, old lady."
"H-hey!" Ida stomped her foot on the ground as he slyly ran off, her ears flat. But seeing the bed sheet disappear into the darkness, she only shook her head. Then again, she wasn't the one who was currently a ghost.
She also wasn't that old...was she?

"One of these days, you know your whole family is going to get you back, right?"
Ida stared at the...well, the not-so-impressed face of her cousin  Kankurō, and she gave an amused sneer. "Oh dear cousin, they can try...but I doubt they know anything that can get to me."
Kan had to sit still as Ida continued to paint...well, something on his fur. It felt weird, and he tried to look. "What are you doing-"
"Don't look! Bad." Ida gave the younger wolf a tap on the nose and his ears flicked back before he whined.
"Oh come on its just some stupid costume, I have work and a family to get back to-"
"Shhhhh! I'm concentrating. This is truely going to be a piece of art...although you can't really tell yet, it will."
Kan was forced to sit in complete silence - even when his legs started to hurt from not moving around.

But finally, after a few hours, it was all complete.
Ida got him to stand up and look in the mirror, where it looked as if Ida has made all his fur turn black, or at least darker, much to his horror. There were bones painted on his arms, and a skull on his face. In white.
"You're a skeleton! This has to be the one that took me the most- hey where are you going?!"
Ida called after him as he stormed off. "I can't go out in public like this, dress up yourself for once!"
He seemed to be pretty angry at her...nonetheless, she followed and tried to convince him it was a good costume...that may or may not take a few weeks to completely wash out.

"And what are you suppose to be?"
Draco narrowed his eyes at the questioning Maui, before he gave a huff, crossing his arms.
"A big bat. Can't you see the wings?"
The smaller wolf simply tilted his head, but shrugged. "Minimal work, but it'll have to do...are you ready to head off?"
Draco had no clue why he had agreed to go trick-or-treating with this kid...who was not so much a kid, just stunted in growth. For tonight, he was dressed as some sort of creature - while he knew the name of the cat and reptile-type creature, he couldn't get the name on the tip of his tongue.
"Ready as I'll ever be. Let's go."
And the two headed outside the house, closing the door behind them as they were to begin their...fun experience.

-

"Maybe we should prank them? Come on sis, it'll be fun!"
Alexandra cast a concerned look towards her brother, who was grinning. "But we'd have to put something on your nose so they don't see it glowing."
"Are you sure this will be ok, Joseph? What if they don't like tricks..."
"Well too bad, they're getting one anyway. Why did I have to come with you instead of Vlad."
The pup crossed her arms as Joseph got everything prepared, eyes bright as he have made the mixture...caramel and a bunch of other sticky liquids, and she was given the feathers to throw on them afterwards. She didn't want to do this.
"Oh brighten up Alex, it'll be fun!" her brother insisted, and as their targets came closer, she only shook her head.
"Well, when it comes to you I don't have a choice. But I'll be telling our mums and dad...are you ready to do it, then?"

-

"This night is as peaceful as ever."
Draco only rolled his eyes as Maui attempted to make conversation...sure, the smaller wolf was his...well, 'friend', if you could even call it that...but sometimes he really wished he had never met him. So much for wanting silence.
"I guess." Draco muttered gruffly...but as the male heard running footsteps, his bat ears swiveled up...what was that?
It was too late to tell before some sort of liquid was thrown on them, Maui yelping in surprise.
"Throw the feathers on them!"
Their sight was blinded as feathers were thrown at them, sticking to their now sticky coats, and the culprits ran off, one giggling while the other cast an apologetic look in the direction of the two struggling.

"...it wasn't that fun, idiot."

"This is going to be the best costume...the best I've done yet, I bet."
Ida was talking to herself as she stuck something bright to the felt beneath her paws. "The others will see this is a great idea...I'm not crazy for dressing everyone up."
She only scoffed at her own words, holding the costume up and smiling slightly. "The big, bad dragon...heh, wonder if I can get this thing to breath actual fire? I could try to scare Min with it."
She decided to try it on. A perfect fit, and her eyes lit up. "Now to make the mask...best costume ever."

By the time she was finished, it was completely dark outside, only the moonlight providing any light to see. Ida was still inside, adding on the finishing touches when there was a knock at the front door. From here, she could hear the squeaky voices of pups, and she gave a sly grin.
This probably wasn't a good idea, to scare children...but she had to have some fun with this, she couldn't let all her hard work go to waste.
Making sure everything worked, she headed to the door, waiting a moment before swinging it open. A device that had been put into it let out a roar of a dragon - downloaded from online, and the three little pups at the door screamed, turning and bolting...their parent didn't look all too happy.
Whoops.

Weekly Task
sorry this is going to be so many stories
you're probably sick of them all already rip

Code: Select all
"Janus come on, we don't even have to dress up! We're already all...halloween like."
The one-eyed wolf stared at his mate as he spoke, causing the taller wolf to sigh and shake his head. "All I'm saying is that you seriously could scare some people pretty well the way you are - ow!"
Janus had hit his hand lightly, before going to tug gently on one of Kyle's protruding fangs. "I know...but dressing up is fun, isn't it?"
"...maybe, but we're grown men with grown children - what else do we have to do, why do we have to dress up? For the halloween spirit?"
Janus just nodded and went back to his work, and Kyle sighed, giving up. "Fine, whatever...just call me when you're done. What are we going as, anyway?" he stared at the well-built wolf who didn't turn his head to look at him. "And you better tell me...you know I don't like surprises, Janus."
Janus just chuckled and shook his head, tail swishing behind him. "You're in for disappointment, I can't tell you until its done. I promise its worth the wait - and don't pout, I may only have one eye but I know you're about to."
Kyle let out a frustrated growl, shaking his head before leaving Janus to what he was doing...curse him.

"Ok Kyle, all done! Come take a look!"
Kyle sighed, it had been hours and now he was done? This better be worth how long it took and the effort...but did he even want to get up and look just yet? His favourite show was on...he didn't want to miss any of it, it was so exciting, too...
"Come on, or I'll come in there and pack the TV up - we both know you have no clue how to set it up."
Kyle just scoffed and got to his feet...ok, that got him up, and he weaved through the hallway to their bedroom at the end, where Janus was holding up two hand-made suits, a pair of stilts leaning against the bed.
"It's us! Well, kinda...I couldn't find some of the right colours, so its a bit off...but you're going as me, since I'm like a cyclops and all and I'm going as you since...well, your certainly some sort of mythological creature."
"And what are the stilts for?"
"Well I can't be you if I'm not the taller one-"
"You're an idiot, it takes ages to get used to those." Kyle cut him off, taking his suit, but then patted Janus' head. "The effort was nice, though. I'll give you that much."

Code: Select all
"And what exactly are we doing here?"
"Buying a costume...or two. Come on, all for fun."
Nikolai snorted at that, ears flicking as she watched her brother go to pick out a few things in his line of sight, and that would fit...whatever he was thinking. "This is what you call fun? Oh its just as fun as being stuck with you is...which in my mind, isn't very fun at all."
Vladimir stuck his tongue out at his sister. "Joseph and Alexandra got to pull a prank...we have to beat them and have the best costume...although they weren't exactly wearing costumes or anything."
He gave his sister a sheepish grin, who did not look impressed, not one bit.
"Well, seeing as we're buying costumes, perhaps you better look at the childrens section? Maybe your brain is a bit too small to process this all."
Nikolai sneered at her own joke as her brother looked very offended, and grabbing him by the wrist, before dragging him along the isle. If they were going to wear costumes, she was going to choose it, not him with his bad taste of...well, everything, for both their safety.

"Really, sis?"
They had stopped at a costume that seemed to be part human, part horse, and Nikolai nodded. "Centaurs, they're mythical enough for you, aren't they?"
"But it needs to be cool...this is so...lame."
That earned him a soft hit on the head and he whined, going to rub where she had hit him, before plucking the costume off the hook. "For your information, this is cool. Centaurs are known by lots of people...why shouldn't we wear it? What's so bad? They can wield spears and shields, and still run like the wind! They're able to hold their own ground, and for their species - although not real - are very advanced. How is that not cool?!"
Here she goes again, and Vladimir had to speak before she continued. "But you're not expecting both of us to wear this, are you?"
"Of course! It's a two person costume...we both have to wear it, I'm the human part and you can be the horse part who does most of the running."
Vladimir flattened his ears at that. "Why me?"
"Because I'm not having you lead the way, you'll run us into a wall." Nikolai retorted, and before her brother could protest, the costume was already paid for...he didn't really have a say now, it seemed.

"What can I go as..."
Cereza was currently...well, in a tight spot. She had promised a friend that they would go trick-or-treating and dress up...but the wolf have no clue what to wear, no clue who to be...she had so many choices that she could make, yet she didn't think that any would really suit her, this was already proving to be a difficult holiday.
"Cat...no...a dog maybe? Nah, probably wont fit me..."
She searched and searched, yet couldn't find anything that could be considered unique to her. So she sat on the bed, defeated with her ears flicked back...perhaps Irene might know?
But once she did call her mother up, she found out she was having a rather...off day, one of the days where her mind processed who she was or whatever. Irene was just confused on who this 'stranger' was, despite being her daughter, and Cereza had to apologise before hanging up.
Great, she wouldn't be of any help, and she knew it would be a lost cause if she were to contact any of her siblings, they wouldn't help...and she couldn't ask her friend, she'd be mad if she found out Cereza didn't have a thought out costume yet, and she had to meet her in a few hours!
"Maybe I shouldn't go..." but how would that work? She would have to call up her friend and tell her that she had failed to find a costume or whatever, and she knew it would leave the other wolf disappointed...especially since she had been looking forward to it so much, she didn't want to be the one responsible for making her feel upset or down.
Maybe she could try just...grabbing all these costumes and making something out of them? Something completely new?
That sparked an idea.
Cereza quickly picked up a few of the costumes, setting them on the bed and going to get the scissors...she would have to try and make something out of this...

A few hours later, Cereza did meet up with her friend, Damien, who stared at the costume she wore, which trailed behind her. A grin was on his face, and his ferret, Star, quickly climbed onto her costume, pretty happy she had arrived.
"What did you happen to make this time, Cer?"
"Oh, this? Just a little bit of a basilisk costume...I got some scale details in, and I think it looks decent."
He grinned and nodded, saying it was good for being handmade, before taking his ferret.
"Well, lets get going then, oh mighty reptile."

"Caw, caw..."
Eilis sat on her bed, not looking all too happy with what she had been forced to wear, with Weaver, her friend - probably her only friend - standing in front of her with a small smile.
"Come on El, you need to be more...compassionate about it. I don't think a phoenix sounds like that."
"And I doubt they look like this, either...where is my costume, anyway? We have to go in ten or we'll miss the train, and we wont be able to go to the show...I've been looking forward to it for so long, too!"
Weaver sat besides her friend and grinned. "Don't worry." and she placed a hand on her friends shoulder, a kind look on her face as she gazed at her friend. "Don't look down, it'll be here in time."
"But the stupid thing will take ages to get on! At this rate we wont even make it out of the house, I can sense we'll miss the train. Oh Weaver, I just had to let you talk me into buying the damn thing."
Weaver tried to look offended, and fiddled with her scarf slightly. "Hey, it was cheap - and you said it yourself, you likes the vibrant colours, complementing your own...well, rather dull ones."
That earned a slight glare, and Weaver gave a nervous chuckle, looking away before she apologized quietly. "Sorry...its just, we could go as phoenix twins, almost...although the legend does say that only one lives at a time, we're both suited to the looks of them, if I say so myself...and besides, I couldn't think of much else to wear...perhaps I could give you my costume, and I just go as something really simple? That could make up for this mess, after all..."

At that moment, it seemed, someone knocked on the door, and Eilis got up, making a running leap - only to slam into the wall because she misjudged it so much, so Weaver first got up to check on her friend, before answering the door, leaving her friend to grumble and get to her feet.
"One phoenix costume has arrived, I believe this is the right address?"
Weaver nodded and sighed the paper before quickly taking it, turning to Eilis and smiling widely. "See, told you that it would get here on time! Why did you ever doubt me?"
"You just got lucky." Eilis murmured, taking the bright orange, feather costume, before she turned and left to her bedroom, going to get changed so they could go.

"Mother, mother have a look at this!"
Samantha was forced to look as one of her pups ran other, eyes lighting up as she showed her what she had picked up - a princess costume, and Sam couldn't help but feel confused. "What's this for?"
"Halloween, I wanna go as a princess, oh can I please?"
"I dunno...do you really want to? Your brothers were all going to go as animals..."
"But I wanna be a princess! Who cares what those stinky boys think."
Samantha smiled in amusement and went to gently pat her daughter on the head, nodding in agreement. "You're right. Girls always have to be better, don't they?" And when her daughter nodded, she went to take the dress. "Let's go, how about I...convince your brothers and father to dress up and match your costume, hmm?"
Her daughter couldn't help but squealing and giving a nod, so she took the hand of her daughter, paid for the dress and then the two of them were on their way home...Sam had a feeling she could perhaps call up someone who could make the costumes of all the children match both the themes of creatures and royalty.

"Can't believe you asked me of all people to help - what do you need."
"Don't mention it, I mean it. I need you to make this into something...animal-like. The boys want to go as monsters like griffons and centaurs, but she wants to go as a princess. I was hoping that maybe you could alter her costume to suit both...as well as with the costumes for the boys, I think that they'll all like it, but it is a bit short notice...it needs to be done by tonight, do you think that you can do it?"
Idabelle scoffed at her sisters words and nodded, taking the dress of her. "Of course I can. I'll be super fast, you'll see. And I'll make sure that it still looks like something your daughter wants to wear - does it matter what creature?"
Sam shook her head, and Ida went off to work a bit of her costume magic to make this into one.
She was done by when she had said, and had arrived at the house a few hours later, costumes in tow.
When the daughter got it, she squealed in delight. "A werewolf princess! And monster knights!"
While it was a bit confusing, as long as the kids were having fun, Sam was happy.

The night was heavenly and quiet, a wolf making her way quietly through the city, a sneer on her hidden face as she looked for the next person to trick.
"H-hello?"
She paused as the scared voice reached her ears, and she couldn't help but scowl a little...someone must be out to ruin her plans...at least, thats what she was guessing at this point.
She had to lay low as she heard footsteps, a long reptile-like tail coming into view, and she froze, especially as soon, another set of footsteps were heard...there was more than one person around.
Great, what was she to do at this point?
"We know you're out there, c-chimera..."
Hmm, they must have somehow seen her. Thats what she was dressed up as, but she simply remained quiet, tail flicking as she attempted to sneak out of there...perhaps they wouldn't hear her. But she had been terribly wrong.
She was soon tackled to the ground, and a large wolf grinned down at her. "Haha, found you, Chibiterasu. Couldn't sneak away from us, could you?"
Chibi stared up at the wolves and growled, before going to shove off the one who had pinned her. "Haha, very funny Chiffon. I suppose you and Sandy had a fun time trying to find me?"
"Yeah, Sandy's scared voice improved enough to trick you and get you moving, at least." Chiffon murmured, ears twitching.
"Guess it did, what are you two suppose to be, anyway."
"Well, Sandy ditched the costume her mum gave her-"
"She's gonna kill me for it."
"-and she's know a dragon. I'm a hippogriff. Pretty spooky, huh?" Chiffon boasted.
Chibiterasu couldn't help but roll her eyes at those words, and upon being asked why her costume looked so lopsided, she smacked Chiffon upside the face, earning a yelp. "Hey, I didn't do anything to you!"
"You're in my personal space." Chibiterasu scoffed, and she got to her feet, brushing dirt off her costume which now was a little ripped. "So much for the mythical chimera eh?" Chibi shook her head.
"Aww its not that badly broken, dont worry about it. Not the end of the world. We can always fix it." Chiffon offered.
"Yeah, I could get mum to do it, we should be pretty close to her house now." Sandy added, her tail wagging.
Chibi glared at the two, trying to be angry, but then she smirked and gave up at that. "I suppose, if you two carry me there." she teased, and the other two groaned at that.
"Do we have to?"
"If you want me to budge, then yes. Now move it."
Both Chiffon and Sandy huffed, but neither complained as they did just that, carrying the self proclaimed chimera goddess to her next destination.

Things were...well, rather bleak tonight, to say the least.
"Hey Chance, you done in there yet? We need to get going if we're going to make the show this year...you know the others won't like it if we miss it. After all, they do say that its a 'royal' show."
"I'll be done in just a moment, Dustin. Just try to make sure that they don't end up leaving without us...they always seem to do that."
They grey pelted munchkin fixed up his costume before heading out, grinning to Dustin and getting a playful glint in his eyes, which were usually very dull, mostly due to the monochromatic colour of them.
"Why, you look very beautiful today, goddess."
Dustin grew flustered at thw compliment, but managed to give a weak scowl in response. "S-shut up, idiot. Not my fault that I was the one being stuck with a girl."
"Snd a pretty one at that, if I do say so myself."
Chance obviously meant it as a joke, but he still got an almost-painful punch to the shoulder, and feigned his pain.
"Oh, the agony! She's killed me..."
"As if Zeus could even be killed...then again, I don't think the god of thunder suits you. Should've gone as a child, if you ask me."
"Hey, but I didn't." Chance poked his chest at that with a grin. "Remwmber, we're all going as Greek gods and goddesses, if I weren't becoming Zeus then I don't thing anyone would be at all too pleased with me."
"Maybe they should serve it up as a form on entertainment, ha!" Dustin was laughing, and Chance rolled his eyes playfully before grabbing his friend by the arm, and dragging him outside, to where a seven seater car was waiting for the two of them, the wolves inside looking as if they had already been thinking of driving off without the two of them.
"Hey guys, wait up! Mr. 'I'm going to take so long for no apparent reason' is, well, finally ready." Dustin called, stalling their friends as the two ran over to the car, racing to get the best seat. And of course, it was Chance who had won, being the faster of the two. And the winner grinned as both of them got into their seats.
"No one can beat Zeus, he's not the god of lightning for nothing." Chance grinned, and as the two of them buckled up into their seats, the car took off, heading to their awaiting destination.
"Wow, you even designed the car to look like a chariot! Good job, guys...could use more lightning bolts, however. Zeus still approves."

Re: RPW Costume Challenges // Closing tomorrow

Postby booklover789 » Thu Nov 03, 2016 10:31 pm

Sorry I dropped off the face of the planet - been dealing with a hectic schedule these past few weeks! I now have time to sit and write for a bit, so here are all the prompts I've missed (plus the weekly one for this week)!

NOTE: I'm dog-tired right now; apologies for anything not perfectly clear and typos.

Jelly
What, you jelly? #sorry #I'mnotfunny #I'llstopnow
Lamar stared at the ocean as it rose and fell, waves breaking the surface, crashing to the shore and then being pulled back to sea. He sighed happily, his tail twitching just slightly before he turned to go back into his home on the beach. He trotted back, sand catching in his paws. He shook each one before wiping them on the doormat, and then entered his home. He pulled out an old childhood favorite of his: Jello. The jelly-like substance hadn't been eaten ever since he was a child, and on a whim, he'd decided to ask his friend Thalassa to pick some up for him. His buddy had dropped it off and allowed Lamar to eat it in peace. Lamar took a large bite of it, and his eyes lit up. "I know what I'm dressing up for for Halloween!"

Vampire
Gerard snuck a piece of candy into his mouth. He gulped it down as quickly as he could, determined to eat as much as he could before his son, Avarice, could catch him. Certainly, it was Avarice's candy - but surely he wouldn't miss a few pieces, right? Gerard only ate a few pieces before turning to the newspaper. The front headline read, "Vampires in Venice - Truth or Fiction?"
Gerard smiled. "Looks like I know what I'll be next year."
For a year, Gerard worked on the perfect costume. He bought a tacky wig online, and then painted white streaks in the black material. Then he shopped at several thrift stores, never quite finding the right top to his outfit - he'd had the previous black jacket for a black-tie event at his son's school. He had the pants from that same event...but that top was just ever so elusive. Less than two weeks before the next Halloween, he stumbled upon it - the frilly white material and fluffy choker were perfect. He bought it on the spot.
Grinning from ear to ear as he trotted home, bag in-paw, he murmured, "Avarice won't know what hit him."

Werewolf
Oakley smiled, sliding off his tutu. "Can't wait to do more dance lessons next year! They've just stopped for the holiday season - what with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up, we have three months of bliss!" He smiled, placing the tutu in the chest that kept it in pristine condition, gently putting his worn ballet slippers next to it. He closed the lid, turning to his closet. "Looks like I need to plan my Halloween costume!" He frowned, digging through his closet with no luck. "Nothing in here looks scary! What am I gonna do?"
He trotted out of his room, nearly running into his mother. "Sorry, Mom!"
"That's okay, dear," she said, smiling. "Oh, why the long face, darling?"
"I don't have a good Halloween costume. Do you have anything I could possibly use?"
"Well, I am getting rid of this old fuzzy thing," she said, lifting up the brown garment in her hand. It was ridiculously fluffy - probably a blend of cotton and suede, by the look of it. "I was just going to toss it - it's rather hot. Would you like it?"
"Sure!" Oakley said with a smile. He took it in his paws, and immediately had an idea. "Does this happen to have a hat?"
"Maybe. I'll go and look."
Three weeks later, Oakley's costume was complete. With his mother's old outfit - hat, sweater, shirt, and pants - and his own homemade boots with fur and fringe attached, he was the best werewolf around. He growled menacingly before trotting out the door, the bucket in his paws. "Time to scare some kids!"

Witch/Wizard
#HarryPotter #CharlieWeasley #Ron #YesThisIsAReference #Potterhead
Charlie sighed. Murtaza was flitting about his room, leaping from bookcase to curtains to bed in rapid succession. Charlie held out his arm. "C'mon, Murtaza."
The dragon alighted on his outstretched arm.
"Now, what are we going to be for Halloween, buddy?"
Murtaza chuffed his disappointment, a small fireball flying from his cracked jaws. It fizzled out before landing on the mirror to his closet.
Charlie patted him on the head, and then reached forward, yanking the door to his closet open. He looked inside, and found one of his old cosplay outfits. "Hm. I went as Ron one year," he murmured, remembering happily the time he'd been gifted tickets to that convention center. He was in bliss the entire day. Digging around in his closet further, he found the wand and hat along with the robe, pins, and red wig. He smiled, plopping everything on the bed. "Perfect! Would you like to come along, Murtaza? You'd be the perfect accent for my costume!"
Murtaza nuzzled his head onto Charlie's, small squeaks coming from his voice box.
Charlie smiled, patted him gently, and murmured, "I suppose that's a 'yes.'"

Grim Reaper
You have no idea how badly I wanted to use Sebastian for this prompt - seeing as he's a demon, he would've stuck out like a sore thumb trying to be like Grell, erm, I mean, a Grim Reaper. Goodness, that would've been so ironic. No, I instead chose an RPW whom I haven't written about extensively, so I'm happy with my choice. However, had I used Sebastian... #BlackButlerReference #noshame
As it is now...
#military #brattykids #struggles #thestruggleisreal

Fiado huffed. She stared at her wardrobe, nearly every article of clothing within it a paltry mix of military garb and sailor gear. "Ugh," she said out loud, "I'd rather wear a burlap sack than anything in here! I can't wear any of this for Halloween!" She rolled her eyes, locking the doors of the wardrobe before she trotted to the store. She sifted through the packs of premade Halloween costumes, feeling worse with every stupid selection she held. "Oh, look - a bunny costume. Pshaw. Pathetic What about this one...? No. Vampire. Too cliche." Finally, she grasped onto a newer costume. "Grim Reaper?" she asked, looking at it. The costume was simple, but new to the store - there were several still on the shelf, so it wasn't as popular as the other costumes, like Frog and Fairy Princess. The set came with a black cloak, black mask to hide the face, glowing red eye contacts, and a realistic-looking scythe. "Perfect," she murmured, trotting to the front of the store to make her purchase. "I'll be able to scare the wits outta those kiddos with this!"

Spider
Acromantula put his pet tarantula into its glass container. He smiled, patted the holder gently, and then turned to his costume, still unfinished and lying on the sewing table. Acro wasn't the best seamstress around, but he did his darndest to get everything done in a fashionable and timely manner. At that moment, he was working on his costume: a spider. he'd already bought a brown skin-tight body-sock, but he still needed to sew on the legs and make the mask. He was nearly done with the eight legs, six of them already attached - he'd had to sew each one and stuff it individually, then tying each to the body-sock. He planned on doing the mask next, and he knew with enough hard work he could get it all done by Halloween! With a final glance at Steve, his pet, he smiled once again. "Wish me luck," he murmured, sitting down and flipping the switch. As light flooded his work-space, he felt at ease, pushing the pedal to the sewing machine, the whir quiet in his ears.

Ghost
Lola was over trick-or-treating. Being a PPS, she was the perfect candidate for getting free candy each year, no matter how old she was. She'd always look like a teen after all - RPWs would think twice of a teen showing up at their door every year, milking them out of more candy...right? Lola wasn't so sure. After chatting with her friend Azlyn, who was happily serving aboard Caspian's ship, Lola had decided she wouldn't even go out.
Suddenly, there was a knock at her door.
Frowning, she trotted out and opened it. "Gabe Groy?! What're you doing here?"
"Could you go out trick-or-treating with me? Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaase?"
Lola let him in. "What are you talking about? You've got two parents to take you out!"
"No," he said, a slight whimper in his voice. "They both have to work this year. The musical is nearly finished, so they have to put their all into it."
"What about Olys and Grabeel?"
"My siblings? They don't wanna get candy."
Lola sighed, weighing her options. Coming to a resolution, she nodded unhappily. "Fine. I'll go with you."
"Yay! I'll be a werewolf! What'll you be?"
"Oh, I dunno...how about a ghost?"
"Perfect!"
Well, that's decided, she thought, a slight smirk on her face. At least I'll have some fun with the neighbor's kid. He's a sweetheart.

Skeleton
Seren stared at Echo. "What do you mean, you don't want to go trick-or-treating?"
WANT GO - CAN'T. CIRCUITS TIRED. NEED BREAK.
"You never need a break! You're part robot, right?"
DON'T MEAN I NOT NEED SLEEP.
He sighed. "No, you're right, of course. Sorry - I was just really hoping we could go out together on Halloween, darling."
SORRY. BODY NEEDS REST.
He nodded. "I didn't meant to be insensitive - sorry, Echo."
IT'S FINE, SEREN. COSTUME WHAT?
He smiled. "You wanna see it?"
She nodded.
He lead her to the stairs and up them until they reached the crafting room. He showed her to the closet. "I finished it yesterday!" Hanging there was a black costume with white bones drawn over it. The bones were positioned properly, and were completed to the finest detailing. The white pieces had been painted on by-paw, and clearly were done in waterproof paint. Seren had accounted for everything
Echo smiled. LOOKS GREAT.
"Thanks. I worked really hard on it. If you're feeling up to it, you know, should your circuits not actually end up needing a break as you're thinking they will, would you like to come with me on Halloween?"
IF BODY NO NEED SLEEP, YES.
"Great! Thank you," he said, throwing his arms around her neck. "I'm so happy we're together now. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, Echo."
I LOVE YOU TOO.

Weekly Prompt: Mythology
Avarice and Vera trotted forward. Vera had a look of determination in her eyes. She wouldn't back down against whatever they came across. Avarice was concerned, but still trotted beside her - not as adventurous as his companion, while he did like to get out of the house and away from his adoptive father Gerard every once in awhile, he wasn't exactly looking forward to this trip. He looked over at Vera, who'd hit her growth spurt recently, and was now about his height. "So, why are we doing this, again?"
Vera smiled, shoving him over playfully. "To catch the dragon."
"Yeah, but which kind? There are Chinese Dragons, and Furry Dragons, and - "
"We're looking for a cockatrice, Avarice."
"Remind me again what that looks like?"
"Sure," Vera said, a smirk on her face. "You'll know you're near one when you turn into stone."
He frowned, slowing his pace. "Then why are we going out to find one of these beasts? I'm all for exploring things and finding out new scientific discoveries, but being reckless isn't good, Vera."
"Oh puh-leez!" she said, darting ahead. "You have no stamina, Avarice!"
He sighed, mumbling to himself. "I was the one who saved you last time, Vera."
"What?"
"I said...I said that I saved you last time."
She paused. Her voice was barely above a whisper. "We don't talk about that."
"You could've died," Avarice said, trotting over to where she was. He placed a paw on her shoulder. "Your parents and I were able to save you. Why are you so determined to throw what gift we've given you away?"
"If I don't do something with my life, I waste what you gave me!" she snapped. "You gave me a gift I can never give back: you gave me a new chance at life, Avarice!"
"Then use it wisely," he said calmly, putting a paw on her shoulder. "No one expects you to be great, Vera - all that we expect is that you live. Doing stupid things like finding silly creatures isn't intelligent - that's not living life to its fullest."
Tears tinged her eyes. "You're right. You're right. C'mon - let's go home."

When Halloween rolled around, Vera trotted out, seeing Avarice by the door. His costume was a bumblebee. Vera's was...well, Avarice couldn't truly tell. He looked at the scales, the green tube-tail with spikes, the bat-like wings, and the chicken-head. "What are you?"
"A cockatrice, silly! What're you, some tube of toothpaste?"
He laughed. "Nope - bumblebee."
"You both ready?" Nuria asked, trotting out with a camera. "I just want to get a picture of you and my daughter, Avarice. It's for the scrapbook."
Vera rolled her eyes playfully, standing beside Avarice.
"Say cheese!"
They both smiled.
Avarice's paw didn't leave Vera's for the rest of the night. They walked in-sync, pleased smiles plastered to their faces. They wouldn't stop smiling until they got back home.

" Not at all, the more costumes the merrier!
40 for the first, which I honestly find adorable that you two dressed up as each other. :"D I've taken my notes and am hoping to do it with a certain someone next year hmm
And with 15 for the other 6, that comes to a grand total of 130 tokens! At this rate my bowl will be empty before I close up. cx
Slightly surprised to see Sam actually go to Ida for help with costumes, though it's great to see the kids happy. ^w^ And it's great to see that the seven of you were so coordinated as Greek gods and goddesses, hope you all hadn't fun!
"

" Glad to see you're a little less busy now! ^v^
So there's 40 tokens for all the previous daily prompts, and such a cool wizard/witch one! The references too |"D I also hope you got your costume ready and fit to wear Acromantula! Apologises for the giant delay, and if this post doesn't makes sense as I'm rather tired at the moment. |"D Though I can't thank you all enough for participating! This event was super fun for me to host and a good learning experience. Also a small shoutout to dave. for the initial inspiration for this because of their art and writing challenges from the Summer Event~

" Ah, it seems as if I have to go to; got to get home and stock up on my depleted sweet supply now. :"D Thank you once again and see you all later! nvn/) "
Then with a wave, Madeline swung her bag over her shoulder and happily skipped off. Now, what to do with all the candy you now have...?
