prompt: 3
Chanel

"Eek!" Chanel screamed in horror as she dashed out of the way of another jump scare through the haunted house. Or... maybe it wasn't a jump scare, but the noise did frighten the young kit more than she would have loved to admit to anyone, the crowd around her long gone and lost somewhere in the labyrinth of the run down- old, decrepit building. Despite her scream at the noise, it would be by far, the most non-scary thing Chanel had seen that night, compared to the dozens of spiders, webs, and weird noises emitted from the house.

Suddenly, a man with a mask popped out of the very last corner of the house with a ferocious roar that sent Chanel tumbling back the way she came, and then quickly scrambling away, heart pounding, breath heaving and hair disheveled in fright. By far, that was the scariest thing she had seen tonight. The man looked cranky, beyond cranky, with a mask of skeletons and blood over his face to keep everything but his menacing eyes hidden. His clothes were torn, all black, except for the small patches that showed skin through the fabric, but regardless, Chanel didn't stay to check and see exactly who it was underneath the mask. Instead, she dashed away, farther than she could have the motivation to have run before in her life. Definitely the scariest thing she saw that night was the man with the mask.

Prompt 3 - Still Allena and Yaris

The room was dark as Allena moved into the children ward. It was creepy quiet and certainly had her on edge, I guess being Halloween and all, it was hard for her to get her focus away from the fact that is never this quiet in this hospital. Yaris looked a little on the nervous side but he didn't know her kids like she did.

Allena began to rush through the darkness, Nothing was beeping, nothing was lit up, everything was deathly quiet and Allena's breath was all that cut through it. She moved, pushing open a door and all of a sudden the lights flicked on and the kids jumped up, yelling Boo. Poor Allena jumped so high she probably left a dint in the roof as she looked at the kids she laughed a little.

Yaris laughed and hugged her from behind and smiled, "Happy Halloween." He knew this was being planned and had held her back until the children and staff were able to finish it. he kissed his mate and moved away and let the kids begin to harass her with candy and jokes and saying how amazing their costumes where.

"You got me good kids. I thought something happened. My hearts still racing," She laughed a little more and smiled brightly at the children, "Trying to kill your fairy."

    Prompt #3
Draw or write about a Kalon having the biggest fright of their October! What scared them?

    {Using my Calista}

"You're sure everything is ready?" Calista looked to a nearby co-worker, asking about the decorations that were important to her own Halloween spirit. The other nodded, confirming that the decorations were completed at the library they both worked at. Calista, on a ladder setting up cobwebs at the corner of the room, was happy with the way things were looking. There was a 'Happy Halloween!' banner in the front of the library, plastic spiders on each desk, and of course, cobwebs in the top corners of the rooms along with lining some of the bookshelves. Calista was of decent hight, and didn't normally have to use a ladder for things. But this was the library ceiling after all, and no one else was tall enough on their own to get the cobwebs in the corners. Lost in thought, someone had come back to ask her something. It was the same co-worker before, dressed in a zombie costume with bloodied clothes. They tapped on her, with one word coming out of their mouth: "Calista?" Upon turning around, Calista looked on in surprise and horror, letting out a small scream. She decided it would be a good idea to run, but initially forgot she was on a ladder, unable to escape without climbing down. And, well, she forgot to climb. Calista had stepped backward and fallen off the ladder, much to said co-workers surprise and concern. With some panic, they ran over to the fallen Kalon, exclaiming, "Are you alright?" Calista looked up, not pleased, but not very harmed either. Three words tumbled out of her mouth before she stood.
    "I hate zombies."

    Prompt #3
    Sceptic

He should've known this party would be a horrible idea. Really, there was no excuse for lacking foresight. Sceptic had known the party host for years-- but that's not what should've done him in. Sceptic should've felt chills the first moment his friend had suggested the party be at /his/ house, to get him some more friends and acquaintances, considering Sceptic's lonely habits. Scep was hesitant, but agreed, calmly leaving out his hatred for crowds and distate for messes. Now, staring at the wreckage of the raging party, Sceptic felt his skin crawl. This was the most sincere torment for him. Where was one to begin with cleaning such a complete and absolute sty? What's worse-- this was spotless only one day ago. Sceptic shook his head softly at his own behavior as he went to ready literally every cleaning supply in his arsenal. Whatever it took, he assured himself, regardless of tonight being Halloween night, he would fix this mess. After all, he hadn't really had anywhere better to be-- and to some degree this cleaning spree might ease his mind, or so he thought. It never seemed to end though, the junk all-encompassing. When Sceptic finally got to the bottom of it the time had flown right by leaving him at 2 AM. He scrambled into bed only to have a highly detailed nightmare about littering and general clutter. How terrifying.

    prompt #2: here
prompt #3: Draw or write about a Kalon having the biggest fright of their October! What scared them?

    --

Suddenly having second thoughts, Aisake bit his lip in consternation. "What are you waiting for?" Kotone hissed from behind him. "Get going!"

"Shut up and let him take his time," Wolf retorted quietly. "He'll get there when he gets there, and if he suddenly wakes up and realizes what an abysmally stupid idea this is, then all the better."

Aisake ignored the squabbling siblings, set his shoulders, and began walking slowly up to the house. On the outside, it looked like any normal house on the block. However, it was rumored among the neighborhood kids that the owner was an asylum escapee who'd murdered her husband and two children. Aisake knew how utterly unlikely this was to be true, but tonight was Halloween- anything could be real.

"This was a bad idea," Aisake whispered, mostly to comfort himself with the sound of his own voice rather than any admission of defeat. Swallowing nervously, he steeled his will and walked up to the house, taking short, quick steps before he could lose his nerve.

A few moments later- though it seemed like an eternity to the kalon, nervous energy fueled by the not insignificant amount of sugar he'd consumed that night- Aisake was at the top of the porch, right in front of the door. He stared at the doorbell for a few seconds, trying to corral his panicking brain into remembering how it worked, before reaching out with one shaking paw and pressing the button.

Nothing happened. Aisake exhaled a shuddering breath, shoulders sagging in relief. He swiveled around to face his friends, cheesy grin spreading across his face, and said, "Well guys, looks like no one's home, guess we'll-" A loud creak interrupted him. Aisake's smile froze on his face as the door slowly opened behind him. He whipped around, treat bucket clutched close to his chest, to see-

An elderly old kalon, who smiled benevolently and raised a bowl of candy in offering. "Would you like a treat?"

Aisake blinked, mind stuttering to a halt, as his eyes flicked back and forth between the kalon and the candy bowl. "O-oh, um, sure," he stammered, body on autopilot as he reached out, picked up two pieces of candy (he didn't even know which) and, shaking, dropped it into his bucket.

The kalon smiled, eyes twinkling knowingly. "You look like a good boy. Just like my son, you know. Have fun trick-or-treating, and watch out for the spiders!" With these cryptic words, she winked and withdrew into her house before Aisake could react.

Aisake, white as a sheet, continued to stare at the door for a good thirty seconds after she closed it.

Back on the sidewalk, Wolf frowned. "Dang, is he broken already? His mom's gonna have a fit."

Kotone rolled her eyes. "He'll be fine. Probably. Hey, 'Sake!"

The hated nickname seemed to snap Aisake out of his petrified daze. "Don't call me that!" he snarled, whipping around to glare at her, before realizing what just happened. "Oh. Okay. Well, that went better than expected," he muttered thoughtfully, walking slowly down the steps now that the threat had passed. "...but it was still really weird. Wonder what she meant.. about... spiders..."

Aisake trailed off as his eyes fixed on a giant, furry leg planted firmly in the ground. His entire body tensed as his eyes traveled slowly up the leg until he came face-to-face with a gigantic, hairy spider, looming three feet above his head.

Now, a rational person might have remembered that this was Halloween, and that on Halloween many people put decorations in their yard. They might have made the connection that this giant spider- which, by the way, do not exist outside of the imagination- was simply a decoration, and left it at that. Aisake, however, was not, in any definition of the phrase, a rational person.

For the space of about ten seconds, Aisake was totally petrified, unable to do anything but quiver as his breath collected in a foggy cloud between himself and the monster. Then, the spell snapped, and he screamed with every shred of power in his lungs. With the sugar in his veins ever fueling his nervous energy, he flung his treat bucket at the spider, regardless of how little it would have done to hinder the creature, and fled, still screaming, back to the sidewalk where his friends stood.

Kotone and Wolf watched, amazed, as Aisake tore down the street, running at a speed they'd never known was possible from him and screaming all the way. As the terrified sounds began to fade, Kotone slowly turned to face Wolf, eyes wide in disbelief. "Should.. we go pick up his candy?"

Slowly and with great deliberation, Wolf set down his bag and jabbed at one ear, then the other, doing absolutely nothing to clear the ringing from his ears. Finally, he sighed, realizing the futility of his errand. "Probably."

Prompt #3
"Draw or write about a Kalon having the biggest fright of their October! What scared them?"

Natalia came home from egging Renaldi's house to quite a fright via her recently acquired roommate...she's still getting used to him.
In Sahn's defense, he turned off the lights only because he ran out of candy to give to the trick-or-treaters.

      - prompt 3
      - rudy (owned by me)

rudy turned the corner, dripping in sweat. it was october, but it was still so freakin' hot out. couldn't a man just be able to drink pumpkin spice lattes and wear sweaters in peace?
rudy absolutely loved the month of october. the whole aesthetic was his life. but god, it was so warm. it really killed the tiny kalon's mood, and as he sat on the porch waiting for his roommate to come home, he sweated. it was just nasty out. ladybugs littered around the front door, and spiders spun their webs for as long as they could until the bitter cold overcame them. rudy hated them.
but what was the worst of all, was the bees. rudy couldn't stand bees. the buzzing, the bright yellow and black, and god, the stinging. it made him so nervous and paranoid, especially because bees loved to build their hives right outside his house. whenever he'd see more than a few in the same place together, he'd freak. usually he'd hire someone to peacefully remove them from the area, but his usual guy was on vacation for the next few months.
and in that very hot october, rudy wasn't prepared for the bees.
he stepped onto the lawn to stretch his legs, not wearing any shoes due to the sweltering heat. and then, he stepped on a bee. all of the color drained from his face as he let out a shriek.
the experience traumatized him, and he cried for a few hours. as he waded in his pool of self pity, he realized that there may be nothing more frightening to look forward to this month. although he loved the halloween aesthetic, he didn't need any more spookiness this time of year- he already had the life scared out of him by a bee sting.

Prompt #3
Kalons used: Zeno, Kai, Dew and Hydra
All owned by me
"I thought you said this was the best place to scare kids, nobody is here Dew" Zeno said while turning and looking at Dew with a confused face. "Last year this place was filled with kids, I am not sure what happened" Dew said with an equally confused face. "Can we go home now" Kai whined. " We might as well its getting a bit too dark" Zeno said while turning and walking down the path that they came from.

"Wow its gotten so dark, I can barley see the ground" Dew said while staring at the ground. "Oh I just remembered that their was a spooky legend about this small forested area in the neighborhood" Dew said with a devilish grin. "Really I've never heard anything about that before. Tell us the legend!" Zeno said excitedly. "I would prefer if we left the forest first before telling the legend" Kai said while speeding up a bit. "Are you scared Kai dont worry daddy will protect you" Zeno said with a confident voice.

"The legend says that this forested area used to belong to a vampire, and that every 100 years on Kaloween he wakes up from his coffin and drains the blood from his victims" Dew said with a serious voice. "Is that why nobody stays out late in this forest?" Zeno asked. "Yup everyone is a bit wary of this area." Dew said while continuing to walk. "If you knew all this then why are we out here!" Kai said worriedly. "Well do you honestly believe that Kai, vampires dont exist." Dew said while smiling at him. "Its not just about vampires, its dangerous to be out here at night." Kai said with a serious voice. "Come on Kai lighten up. why are you so scared, you have both me and Dew with you so you dont have to worry" Zeno said with a smile. "I am worried because I am with you two" Kai said with a sigh.

"Did you hear something just now" Dew said while glancing around. "Dew don't joke around your making me nervous" Kai said with a serious voice. "I am not joking I just heard some noise in the bushes" Dew said worriedly. "Dew you shouldn't worry we're two adults I highly doubt something bad will happen to us" Zeno said. "Thats what your saying but why are you trembling so much" Dew retorted.
"Umm guys I think we should run." as Kai said this a silhouette appeared from the bushes. The silhouette got clearer as they got closer, they had long fangs that glinted in the moonlight. "I am outta here!" yelled Dew as he ran and was followed by Zeno and Kai.
"Whoa I wonder whats wrong with those guys they looked like they saw a ghost" Hydra said while looking in the direction that the three had ran in. "I can finally go home after work and take this dumb costume off" Hydra said letting out a sigh and continued walking down the path.
