I crept through the shadows of the city, my paws aching from my long journey. I had been traveling all night long, unnoticed by humans and viscets alike.

"My journey began in a federal prison, known to many as The Rock. It was cold, filled with demented humans who had lost their minds, and viscets who were mentally insane. Me, I kept my sanity. I would sit in silence, planning an elaborate escape in which no viscet or human could understand. It was a perfect idea.

"On October 2nd, I began to proceed with my plan. I signaled a nearby guard, and asked for some water, as I was "restless". I thanked him briefly, before pouring the glass on my paws and over my head. Step one, done.

"I started to howl and screech to my limits. I heard some nearby shouts, then my cell door opened with three guards in front of me. Go, my mind said. I dodged all three, diving under legs and dodging the flailing guards. I sprinted for the door, which I had memorized its location since the day I came in. The door was sliding closed, which I barely slipped under. Guess that water worked, I thought with a smirk on my face. Alarms and red lights were going off, hurting my ears. I heard guards not far from me, and began to run.

" I sprinted for the surrounding waters, knowing where I should be. A fierce rain pelted me in the face, and slowed me down slightly. With the crack of thunder and a flash of lightning, I reached the edge of the island. It's now or never.

"I flung myself into the water, waves crashing and all. I dove underwater, preparing for the long swim. I had made it. I was free."
