First Meeting (Complete)

Postby Yodel » Thu Jul 28, 2016 3:57 pm

I sat in the livingroom, typing away at unanswered emails. The distant neighing of my horses, being heard from the livingroom.
Suddenly my cellphone beside me began buzzing and playing the familiar ringtone.

"Hello?"
"Hello, this is the official Hyrulian Gypsy Barn. We are calling to tell you that we have found you a yearling based on the form you filled out"
"Oh, ok, thanks, when should I come pick them up?"
"You are able to come pick up at anytime"
"Awesome, thank you very much"
"You're welcome"
*boop*

"Oh, that's awesome! I can't wait to meet my new yearling" I said to myself, as I got up from the couch and went to fix myself up before leaving. I was going to go see my new beauty as soon as I could. Once my hair was fixed up and I was looking presentable, I left and got into my truck, with the trailer attached to the back.

I pulled up to the barn, looking around.
I parked and got out of the truck walking around to hopefully find some one to show me to the yearlings.
I walked around for a bit before meeting an employee who guided me to the pasture with the yearlings. As we approached the pasture, my eyes scanned the lot, each and every yearling was so pretty, I would be lucky to get any of them.

"Yours is that one over there" said the employee, as she pointed to a young colt grazing along the fence.
"Thanks" I said briefly, as she walked off.
I was awe struck, this colt was simply gorgeous, he had a beautiful Dunalino coat with Frame Overo, and the soften lavender eyes I have ever seen.
Though it did take me a second to realize that he was grazing away from the others and in a patch of flowers.

My first impression was big sweet heart, and almost seemed easily distracted, as he kept sniffing at the flowers and eating the soft, lush grass instead of going back to the other horses.
I slowly made my way over, and made sure that I came toward him from the front, not the back, as not to spook the young colt. As I approached he lifted his head and nickered at me, before bending back down and sniffing the flowers.

Once I was close enough, and he didn't seem bothered by my presence, I climbed over the paddock fence and sat in the grass in front of him and waited. It didn't take long until he wandered over to me, lied down, and rested his head on my lap. I patted his neck and scratched behind his ears gently. We seemed to already have a great bond. After a little bit, I started picking the flowers he kept sniffing at, and began entwining them in his mane.

The yearling seemed to enjoy this, sitting in the paddock, playing with the flowers, and just being lazy in the sun. I realized he didn't have a name yet, so I began thinking of some. Several occurred to me, but none seemed to fit him. Until I thought of Chrysanthos. Meaning "golden flower" I thought this name was lovely, because of his coat and his love for flowers.

I checked my watch, it was already close to dinner time, it must've been somewhere around and hour that we spent in the paddock. I gave Chrysanthos a gentle pat on the neck before standing up and going to find the employee.
Once I had found her, she began helping get Chrissie into the trailer. I had backed up the trailer right to the gates to we wouldn't have to worry about using a halter. The next task; loading him into the trailer.

Loading Chrysanthos into the trailer was pretty easy, I simply led Chrysanthos to the gates and into the trailer. It was relatively easy, but I didn't really expect anything different after discovering his gentle nature.

Once he was all loaded into the trailer the employee gave me a form to sign, and once it was signed we were ready to go. I walked around the vehicle, hopped into the driver's seat, turned the key, and began driving away.

Unfortunately the road was quite bumpy, we were currently driving on a gravel road, and I was worried about Chrysanthos. The next few minutes were when I realized my worries came true, we were about half way through the drive home. I pulled over next to what looked like a forest and went to see my new boy.

When I got out and went to open the trailer my heart dropped when I saw my precious flower breathing heavily, ears flat against his head and staring at me in fear. I cautiously walked towards him, fully aware that Chrysanthos was watching my every move. I gently placed my hand on his muzzle and watched hopefully as his ears slowly flickered towards me.

After a few minutes when he was calm, I still wasn't sure if we should get back on the road so soon, so I decided to take him out into the forest we had pulled over beside. As long as I held Chrysanthos' muzzle gently he would follow me without question. We went into the forest, and were thrilled to come across a clearing dotted with tiny pink and purple flowers.

I sat on the edge of the clearing and watched Chrysanthos carefully as to ensure he wouldn't wander off. But he simply went to lie down under a tree and sniff flowers.

I looked at my watch and according to it, we had been in the clearing for close to an hour. I decided he must be fine now, so I went to grab him. It was as simple as bringing him out here, I simple rested my hand around his muzzle and he followed me.

I was surprised to find that he went into the trailer quite easily after what happened not that long ago. So I proceeded to load him up again and continue driving.

Fortunately Chrysanthos wasn't making any fuss throughout the whole ride back.

I pulled up the drive way as was greeted by the nickers and whinnies of my other gypsies. I parked lazely, unable to focus through my excitement to see my Chrysanthos again.
I hopped out of the truck and practically ran to the trailer. I opened the door only to be greeted by a happy looking Dunalino in my face, eager to get out of the trailer. "Easy boy" I said soothingly, resting my hand once more around his muzzle, leading him out towards one of the pastures.

Many gypsies ran up to the fence to greet us, like Phantom, Spirit and Soul. I patted them on the necks and then led Chrysanthos who didn't seem to take any notice of the departing gypsies, into the pasture.

I turned him loose and went to properly park the truck.

Brainstorm;;
-loading
-calming him down halfway
-continuing (smooth)
