You just can't seem to resist an unexplored mystery. You turn on your heel and make your way down the overgrown path, glancing around as you go, wondering where this neglected branch of the maze could lead you.

It's a quiet walk, save for the rustling of the corn stalks in the wind and the brushes of grasses against your feet as you pick your way between the tussocks and peer into the darkness to make sure you aren't losing the path. Mercifully, after some time the maze around you grows lighter again, and your vision isn't quite as clouded. But then you have to pause. The lights you're seeing... they're not from the farm. They bob in the breeze, and flicker softly. There's more of them, the farther you go. You remember that the thing that drew you to the corn maze in the first place was the glow of flickering lights...

The mushrooms are getting so numerous along the path that you have to be more careful to avoid stepping on them. Then you round a corner, find a dead end, and stop. Laid out at the end of the pathway is a magnificent fairy circle, possibly the biggest one you've ever seen. The lights are dancing around it. The whole clearing glistens with what you're certain is magic.

You can't bring yourself to turn and leave without investigating further. It's beautiful, and you try to remember what one is meant to do when coming across a fairy circle. Are you meant to leave an offering amongst the mushrooms? Or perhaps you're brave enough to step inside yourself?

i think i wanna step inside it and see what magic it holds! perhaps itd turn me into a fairy itself.... then i could simply fly away from here, fly away to a safer place, fly away to a home that loves me... if only... then perhaps i should leave an offering and make a wish instead? yes... how about that...?

tough choice... what if we get to fly inside... hmm. lets make an offering, just to be safe, mustnt offend the fairies!! plus, what if they give us a gift? hmm...

🧡 i have um. some change and i quickly scrawl a drawing onto a crumpled paper with a pencil. it shows a dog leaping and bounding through the woods... except that isnt very clear so i turn the paper over and instead sit down and draw a "quirky village" of sorts. atlast! done!

also lo this is SO stunning, i love the colour palette and overall its just gorgeous <3 fantastic work!!
