About this forum
Welcome to the Comics and Series Oekaki Board!
- Creating single-page installments with an overarching narrative under one cover (i.e. "Ask my character," tutorials/"How to draw...," motivational images, etc) What this board is NOT for:
- Sketchbooks - Memes/Challenges where each image stands alone (i.e. "Draw 100 Pokemon," "Draw all my characters," etc) - Random standalone images without an ongoing theme/storyline If your drawings are not connected by an ongoing story or theme, they should be sorted into their respective Oekaki category (i.e. animals, humans, landscape, etc). Please keep in mind that mods may use their own discretion to determine if your drawing belongs in this board. Please try to sort your drawings in the appropriate Oekaki board. Dragons: The First
This series is based heavily on the amazing Godzilla franchise, though it is purely a HTTYD fan-comic, the story and some Dragon designs were heavily based on the original Godzilla film. HTTYD and Godzilla by TOHO and Dreamworks. It's the year 954, Berk is still the viking-vs-dragon village it's been for several generations. But one strange night, a massive dragon came ashore upon Berk, this is the discovery, of the Indojira. Pages for this comic will be made whenever i have time to make them. |

3P-100 | Design Challenge!
So what is 3P-100? It’s a three prompt one design challenge done 100 times! Specifically human/humanoid characters as a means of getting better at drawing humans. Last time the three prompts were a color palette, a keyword, and a song. This time the three prompts are: a body type, an outfit, and a song! I have changed the third prompt type to hairstyle! The Cryptid Collective: Kool-Aid Demon
I've been coping with DID for over a decade now. As an outlet, I've started exploring drawing sitcom like moments between myself and my alters as comics. It helps to lessen how taboo it all feels by making it silly, relatable, and most importantly, visualized. I've been walking a line between what is and isn't reality for a long time. My alters are as much fake masks I hide behind as they are real friends I can talk to. The line between where they end and I begin is fuzzy at best and impossible to find at worst. In this way, working on this comic has helped to make it all something I can laugh about. Any further ideas will be posted as pages to this one. For this one specifically, I have an alter named Iris. She is particularly excitable and can be abrupt in how she chooses to join the front. I've been likening it to the Kool Aid man for ages. The other alter depicted is Aspen, who is the other demon in my head (in a system of several cryptids). They're sort of a yin and yang to each other. Aspen tends to be in the periphery and reserved the vast majority of the time. I'm currently depicting "myself" as the silly little purple blob man because I'm still not really sure how I want to draw myself while I'm still six months into transitioning my body. All this drawing to say: I can't just have friend time over a cup of coffee without Iris hearing about it and making it everyone's problem Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

NEVERSETTING legend of the sun empire ☀ a thousand years ago, the world changed forever. the sun was swallowed by a great tree, planted there by a species long since lost to time. that tree sprouted a darkness that lasted nearly a hundred years. the lengthy night spawned monsters of shadow and flesh, nightmares made real. many creatures struggled to survive, both the birth of the tree and the night that followed claimed many lives. however, some cats prevailed. they found themselves forever changed by the great tree, witnessing its birth gave them an ability to persist through the long darkness. they became LEGENDS. these cats paved the way for the future of their kind. this is the story of one such LEGEND. this is the story of the CAT WHOSE SUN WILL NEVER SET. learn more about the world here. Water's Lullaby
The touch of warmth from the sun's rays just barely reached the depths. An eternity of waiting for just the right conditions. How long had it been since the last moment of wokeness? A season? Six? Ambrose would never know. The water has been cool for so long. Lulling him into a sleep so deep that time seemed to stand still. He was alone though, the caretakers, their warmth and attention he hadn't felt in much much longer. He felt their loss, though the feeling was not fully realized. All he has ever known was within the leathery skin of his egg. The tingles he felt when others of his kind where near had all but faded from memory. |

This valley is home to some of the very best Halloween magic, and you're venturing out in the hopes of finding something special to mark the season. At the very least, you're looking forward to a great candy haul. Better make sure you have everything with you that you're going to need. Something to collect candy in, for starters. A flashlight might not be a bad idea either, if you make any stops off the path. Are you warm enough? The spirits will leave some water for you in the center of the moonflowers if you forgot your water bottle. Tales of Delau
I write stories when this life is too harsh for me to handle and I try to hide in order to forget about it the best I can ... As I'm writing this I've finished writing the manuscript for three short stories and I have some old ones in my external hard drive that I plan to re-work and make use of. Here's to practice and to help me deciding what I'm comfortable with doing in the future.
Do you prefer reading comics in the layout of mangas? Turning pages like an actual book and the frames in black and white? Or do you prefer the layout of webcomics or manhwas? Scrolling throughout one and the same page during one chapter and that the frames are coloured? |
