Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

what is their job: I'm just a lowly tradesman, trying to earn a living in this messed up country. Yes, I was being sarcastic you idiot. It is what keeps me going. Lowly, ha. That is how others view tradesmen, anyway, right up there with the lovely words greedy, pushy, and cheat. Of course, I am all those things, but still. Stereotypes irritate me. You are probably wondering what I sell. Well, that is problematic, because I'd really rather not tell you. But we are already here, so I suppose holding back is pointless. I handcraft jewelry and dresses. What? A man can do those things and still be manly. Like I said, I hate stereotypes. Breaking them is a hobby of mine. Anyway, my specialty is encrusting these creations with fine gems. For example, weaving crystals into a dress or melting diamonds into gold to create a mixture of them in a ring. I mostly sell to the upper class, since no one in the middle or lower can afford it. Unless I convince them they can pay it off. Then they're in debt to me forever, ha. I love my job.

Corundum works as both a miner and a deliverykal for a small gem supply company. It's not an especially fabulous job - The work is hard and the hours are long, but the pay is good and it has some decent benefits, so they're not gonna complain much.
