Dean WinchesterBlack T-ShirtUnlike typical viscets,
Declan loves wearing shirts.
He has always had a high liking to human nature
and thinks the black t-shirt fits him well.
Olive-Green Collared Button-Down ShirtConsidering the color is one of his favorites, he
wears it most days and always over his black t-shirt.
The color fits well with his fur and helps blend him
into the forest.
His NecklaceDeclan's little brother gave him the necklace at a
very young age and ever since then
Declan hates
to take it off. The beautiful fading gold wing
necklace tipped with silver represents his brother
Hatchet as an angel.
Tail CharmDeclan believes this charm keeps demons
from possessing him. Irony in the fact
that his nickname is Demon.
Now he doesn't always wear this item
unless he's feeling threatened.
BraceletHe wears this bracelet around his left ankle.
1967 Chevy ImpalaDeclan loves cars and although he doesn't
drive very well he sleeps underneath the
backseat in his impala majority of the time
and stores treasures that he finds or steals
in it too.
The Story of the ItemsDeclan was born in the catacombs under the city of Odessa in Ukraine. The day
Declan hatched he was on his own. The catacombs were pitch black but his eyes somehow were able to see in the utter black of the catacombs. Moments after he was born he found his little brother's egg, cold.
Declan huddled around the egg for days until it eventually hatched and
Declan's baby brother was born, his name was Hatchet.
Declan led Hatchet through the catacombs believing their parents were near somewhere. The catacombs opened into a large and dangerous room and
Declan carried Hatchet until he was big enough to traverse it on his own although
Declan himself was barely able to. The catacombs were very cold and the two visclings knew no warmth. After a few weeks of traversing the catacombs the brothers knew they would never find their parents. Within the catacombs were monsters, horrible, vicious monsters.
Declan and Hatchet had found and shaped their own tools to fight off such predators. Food consisted of bats and overgrown, experimental rats. One day or possibly night, as the viscets were getting ready to find a place to sleep they entered a burial room. Skeletons lay in holes within the walls of the catacombs.
Declan removed two skeletons so he and Hatchet could each have a bed. The two brothers rarely talked and strictly focused on survival but today was different. "Hey
Declan?" Hatchet shuffled his feet and smiled at his big brother. "What is it Hatch?"
Declan leapt into the upper burial bed. Hatchet stood up and handed something cold to
Declan, "I want you to have this."
Declan rolled over and faced his little brother, "Why? What is it?" Hatchet explained that is was a necklace he had found near where they were born and he had held it in his mouth so he would never lose it.
Declan smiled at the small shimmering wing, in the catacombs the viscets didn't know colors existed. After nearly 3 hours of sleeping the two boys were awakened by believe it or not, lights!
Declan and Hatchet were blinded by the lights at first and nearly lost their wits but they kept quiet. Clumsy, loud humans came clattering through the catacombs into the burial chamber.
Declan watched them. Suddenly one of the humans screeched and pointed towards the boys. "Run!"
Declan yelled at Hatchet and he darted out the opposite side of the room, where the boys had never ventured before on their quest to nowhere.
Declan veered left and suddenly found himself wading in water with what appeared to be bodies in the mix.
Declan cringed at the stench and swam through.
Declan found himself running blindly until he realized Hatchet was nowhere to be found. He had been running for nearly 45 minutes.
Declan sprinted back desperately trying to find his way but he couldn't, he was lost. Worst of all, he had lost his brother, the only viscet that he had ever known was gone from him.
Declan sat and clutched his necklace tightly. He traversed the caves and walls and hallways of the catacombs endlessly.
Declan found an odd contraption sitting, nearly floating, in a larger hallway within the catacombs. He walked over and peered into the wooden contraption on a railing to see a frightening black viscet, at least what looked like one. It was a shadow of a viscet with beady red eyes, "Why hello
Declan."
Declan bared his teeth, "Who are you?!" Fear caught further words in
Declan's throat. "Oh don't be scared
Declan, I'm only a demon."
Declan couldn't remember what happened after that. He didn't try to remember either, he simply went on. One day or night, again
Declan can't tell either way, he found a human. A dead human at that but fresh, as if they had gotten lost and never made it out.
Declan's freezing cold body was slowly giving way to hypothermia so he stripped the shirts from the man in the hallway and placed them on his own equally sized body. Suddenly the human rolled over moaning and
Declan jumped against the other wall.
Declan was frightened out of his fur and stood frozen. The human opened his large brown eyes at
Declan and he mumbled while pointing down a particular hallway. The human groaned constantly and
Declan began to drag him in the directions he would point. Entering the biggest cave
Declan had ever seen he noticed a small hint of a light on the far end near the top of the cave.
Declan dragged the human over two large boulders that reached up to the ceiling and found that the light was much brighter. The gradual ascent to the light helped
Declan adjust to it nicely.
Declan pulled on the man and brought him out of the whole onto the grass.
Declan jumped at the touch of the grass multiple times until he realized it was natural underfoot. He flicked and played with it until suddenly all went black.
Declan doesn't remember what happened but he found himself lying beneath another viscet with the likes of a skeleton. "Hi, I'm McCoy and you were possessed by a demon my friend." The viscet took a charm from his paw and placed a thread through it before promptly tying it on
Declan's tail, "This will keep you from getting possessed again."
Declan nodded, frightened by his surroundings. The viscet helped him up before walking off into the woods. Decla turned his head to the human laying on the ground who was now surrounded by more humans.
Declan weakly stood and suddenly felt very insecure about himself. He noticed the viscet that walked into the woods walked on two legs. Being in a cave so long he had always travelled on four.
Declan travelled into the woods on four legs and found his way onto a large open hillside and mountains stretched out all around.
Declan was in awe and he practiced walking on two legs all the way to the mountains. As he was traversing the mountainsides in exploration he found a bracelet and he placed it on his left ankle to symbolize his newfound freedom. Odessa's catacombs had been filled with terrifying crypts but
Declan found that in this new and beautiful world, he feared nothing except the catacombs.
.........His past may have been bitter but his future is bright.........
Now that he has had some time in the above ground world he has learned who he is and what he likes.
Random Fact: He has started taking a liking to the colors orange and blue because of the sky.
Favorite Place:
The Black Beaches of HawaiiDeclan loves to dig his claws into warm black sand and although he's not a huge fan of ocean water, when it gets a little too hot he'll jump in to cool off. He prefers to sink into the dark sand as the waves splash around him and he loves does love ocean spray in his fur when he manages to sneak onto a boat. Often in the morning he likes to roll in the cool sand much like that of a playful dog. He loves paddle boarding off the cost of Hawaii. He doesn't go out far but he likes to bring food with him and lay in the sun majority of the day. He loves sunlight and anything bright. Recently he has even learned how to surf and has gotten quite good at it! Although he really dislikes humans, occasionally he will challenge one to a surf off and because he is more nimble than people he often wins. He even has gotten into a bad habit of betting and wagering items on them although he has gotten quite wealthy off of them.
Favorite Foods:Declan loves pie!! He also loves pancakes, bagels and meat(mostly seafood).
Favorite Animal:He loves
Cerberus' but if he had to choose a real animal it would be any type of
bird. He loves birds because of how brightly colored they are and the beautiful chirping sounds they make always brighten his day.
Favorite Hobbies:Collecting and Decorating Swords & KnivesDeclan has always loved swords and knives and uses them for almost everything from knocking down coconuts to catching fish. He even uses them to draw whether that be in the sand or on someone's surfboard. He carries a simple
black and blue knife with him at all times and can often be seen with it in between his teeth as he works on something; he is quite the little crafter. He hides the knife in an inner shirt pocket so that it is always against him and can't be stolen.
Favorite Holiday:Declan majorly struggles choosing between Halloween and Christmas. Halloween gets his heart racing and he loves the thrill of being terrified again while Christmas is a time of love and joy and believe it or not he's a Hallmark channel guy.
