Pokemon name: Coral
Pokemon typing: water/fairy
pokemon pronouns: Any
prompt:
Context: Trainer runs a Park/Sanctuary/Zoo-style thing for Pokemon that have been injured, formerly stolen from the wild, or otherwise unable to re-adapt to life in their natural habitat. Usually Pokemon recovered from bad guy teams that haven't found their owners go to her sanctuary, as well as Pokemon who were injured beyond being able to heal themselves. She also gets Pokemon from people who have adopted Pokemon as babies but couldn't handle them as they got older and/or evolved, Pokemon who were seized from abusive homes, etc. Some people come and drop off their Pokemon for a 'daycare' type service where they can either breed or just hang out. They can also opt-in for their mons to be placed in a petting zoo environment where anyone can come and interact with the Pokemon (so long as they're docile enough- no Primapes or anything) and some of the Pokemon just.. belong to her.

Personal Headcanon used: "Critical Captures" (where the ball shakes once and then catches) happen when a Pokemon wants to come with a trainer and hasn't struggled to get out of the Pokeball at all.

With a park so big, it'd be hard to run things all by herself. That's what the trainer was thinking before they met this Pokemon. There were so many water types in her care that she didn't even know where to begin, handling them all was a hassle and she still had the majority of the other exhibits to get through. So she went looking for help- tried hiring multiple caretakers but nobody could quite handle the Pokemon like she could. Then the Pokemon themselves started stepping up. Each typed exhibit had Pokemon that were particularly close to the trainer step up or be found. When she found this Primarina on one of her trips to the rocky shoreline near her sanctuary, singing beautifully and guiding other water types to where they needed to go, she knew she needed to befriend it. Every day she'd come visit, listen to its song, watch it train the Brionne by its side to do the same. One day, when the trainer showed up, the Brionne was on the Primarina's rock instead, doing the job of the old Primarina as it rested on a nearby rock, seeming restless as it'd never not needed to work. Having seen the trainer visit many times, the Primarina wasn't shocked when she approached. "Trained your own replacement, huh?" She asked idly, glancing to the Brionne and the Pokemon it was organizing. "Out of a job? Looking for work?" With a hand outstretched, she offered a position in her sanctuary to the Primarina. The Pokemon eyed her warily, then, pressed its nose into her hand. "Great! You'll love it there. I promise." She responded, rolling a Pokeball over. It bumped into the Primarina and.. critical capture! "You really wanted to come along, huh?"

Coral had wanted to come with its trainer when she first approached. Organizing Pokemon had been its job since its parents before it had trained it, and it could tell the trainer needed something. It was ready to leave its life behind and even let its kid take over before its training was technically over. That Brionne was a natural, anyway.
No Primarina had ever left the reef before, and it wanted to see outside. It ended up really enjoying its job when it got there, too. Not working had made it restless, and it even started training another Pokemon when it got to the sanctuary- to do the job in case anything happened to it. Its trainer still brings it back to the reef sometimes- where the Brionne-turned-Primarina greets its parent wholeheartedly.

Pokemon name: Coral
Pokemon typing: water/fairy
pokemon pronouns: she/her
prompt:

If you were to ask anyone on Team Pink Pearl about Coral, they would all most likely tell you that she is one of the most wonderful pokemon on the team. Caring, considerate, always looking out for those around her, everyone practically loves her, right?
Except for one pokemon. That pokemon just happens to be Tabasco the fuecoco, leader of Team Pink Pearl.
When Coral first joined the team, a certain popplio named Scout took a very quick liking to her, and nobody seemed to have an issue with that. Besides Tabs. Scout looked up to Coral the moment she joined, as she was what Scout dreamt of becoming someday, resulting in Scout spending more time with her in and out of their treasure hunting missions.
That, is in fact, the main reason why Tabasco loathes Coral.
Tabasco has a certain soft spot for Scout, he considers him his best friend and the two are awfully close, but Tabasco has some certain attachment issues that he isn't able to get over. He spends the most time with Scout, and the two do almost everything together, so it hurt more than a little bit when Scout took an automatic liking to the new recruit.
Tabasco would sulk and pout, waiting like the little childlike pokemon that he is, waiting for anyone on the team to notice his struggles with his friend. It came to the point where Tabasco even started ignoring Scout whenever he tried speaking to him. Nobody on the team seemed to notice anything (or maybe they did and elected to ignore the small fuecoco because he needs to figure out his issues himself) besides one pokemon, who just so happened to be Coral.
Tabasco wanted nothing to do with the Primarina, but she smiled at him warmly and sat him down in their team clubhouse asking for a simple chat. Tabasco however, only scowled at her when she tried to start a conversation.
"If this is about Scout, then I just want you to know that he really cares about you and he never wanted to do anything to hurt you." Coral had said, looking down at the small fuecoco. Tabasco had then peered up at her, curious as to how she could've known anything.
"He talks about you to me quite a bit, and he really doesn't want to lose you as a friend. He's told me about all the adventures you have gone on together, and how you make him grow as a pokemon, but he's also told me about how you seem to be ignoring him and it's hurting him quite a bit." She then gave him a slight frown, and Tabasco flinched a little.
Her face then had changed to a smile, "I think you should talk to him, talking always makes everything work out in the end." She spoke, right before she then left Tabasco to be on his own, sitting with his thoughts.
Coral was right, and while Tabasco hated that she was, talking indeed fixed the problem in the end. It also had brought Tabasco and Scout closer together.
So, if you were to ask anyone on Team Pink Pearl about Coral, they would all most likely tell you that she is one of the most wonderful pokemon on the team. Caring, considerate, always looking out for those around her, and even though Tabasco didn't think so at the beginning, he can now agree that she's the wonderful pokemon everyone makes her out to be.

Pokemon name: Aukai
Pokemon typing: water/fairy
pokemon pronouns: she/her
prompt:

Aukai could aways be found by the docks, where there were clusters of rocks that she could rest upon and watch the many ships pass by, carrying heavy cargo or goods to be distributed to the different towns across the region. As these ships passed by the cluster of rocks, Aukai would sing tunes for them. She didn't have any particular reason to why she would sing other than the fact that she knew it brought smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts. Most of these tunes were old sea shanties that would be sung by crews back in the old days. Most of the shanties were memorized by crews even to this day, so on occasion, she'd hear the crew singing or humming along with her. It was a good life for her, and she thoroughly enjoyed how happy she could bring others, singing these tunes.

If anyone ever asked Aukai if she remembered any of the members of the crews she's sang to, she would say no. Or well, she'd say no at first. But given a moment of dramatic pause, she would mention one Pokemon in particular. But she would clarify that he wasn't apart of a crew, but instead, a mere passenger on the ship.

"There was this cute little Riolu that called himself Riley." She would begin to say, closing her eyes and smiling at the memory. "He was an eager little guy. Full of curiosity and adventure. The day his ship docked, I did my usual routine I did for most crews at the time. I sang them sea shanties to calm their minds and bring happiness to their hearts. Little did I know that there were passengers on the ship. As soon as little Riley heard me sing, he ran off the ship onto the docks and called out to me." Aukai laughed a little at the thought. It was such a sweet memory. She couldn't help but laugh at it sometimes.

"He told me that it was the most beautiful tune that he had ever heard, and that I had a gift. After that, he dove into the water and tried to swim over to me. The currents were strong with all the passing ships, I thought he wasn't going to make it over to me, so I dove into the water and decided to help him. When I safely pulled him out of the water, he began to talk to me again, telling me once again, how beautiful he thought my singing was. It was then when Riley asked if I would be interested in travelling back to his team's base with him and put on a show of sorts." Again, Aukai laughed. A few chuckles emerged from the crowd she was telling the story to as well.

"At first I was quite unsure. I mean, I had never left my home. Even when I was a mere Popplio, the docks was all I ever knew. It was all so peaceful to me and I never dreamt of anything else. But I guess that very fact there was why I agreed to go with Riley and meet the team he had made. To meet each and every single one of you." A smile spread across Aukai's face. And in the distance, she caught a glimpse of Riley smiling back at her. Since the day she met Riley, she always considered him as a little brother to her. He was funny, friendly, very eager to do about everything he could put his mind to. And Aukai found that she had grown quite fond of it. She wanted to experience his growth over the years and the things that he would accomplish as he got older. Which was another reason she accepted Riley's proposal to meet his team.

After a few moments, Riley waltzed over to the table in which Aukai was telling the story about their first interaction and how she came to be a member of the team. "Aukai!" Riley groaned. "Come on, you're embarrassing me!"

Laughing again, Aukai took her fin and patted Riley with it. "Alright goofball, I'm done with the story anyways. They wanted to hear about how we met. Especially since you and I have such a good bond, don't you think?"

Riley had simply rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah! Whatever!" He responded, crossing his arms and looking away since he was getting flustered. He always did get flustered when someone complimented him. A lot of the times he didn't think he deserved it. "Hey Aukai?" Riley said suddenly, looking at the Primarina. "Thanks for becoming one of us, its been a joy to have you hear and- well- the team loves being around you."

Aukai looked at Riley for a brief moment, then nudged him. "Thanks for inviting me. I've enjoyed getting to know everyone here. Especially you. I wouldn't trade this experience for the world."

Pokemon name: Nøkk
Pokemon typing: water/fairy
pokemon pronouns: He/him
prompt:

Nøkk joined Quint's team as a result of their very first crime.

Quint thinks that's a fairly funny way to start what is otherwise a rather sad story, and begins it that way around trusted friends. They also like to throw in that, technically, this whole ordeal was the first thing they did as an Ace Trainer. It was even the very first day of their adventure across Galar, because of course it would be.

Having recently earned their Ace Trainer certification, Quint had chosen to leave their home in Circhester to participate in the Gym Challenge. However, they decided to spend their first day away from home in Hulbury - thinking their small team may appreciate a beach that was actually warm. While there, Quint was approached by a man on the edge of the shoreside market who claimed to have a rare and powerful pokemon available. Thinking it may be best to add another pokemon to their team before starting the challenge, Quint followed him to the docks where he revealed a cage with a pokemon inside.

A cage. Quint saw red at that alone, until they realized the pokemon inside was none other than a Popplio - Nøkk, to be specific. As a recently certified Ace Trainer, they knew that certain pokemon were so rare and vital to their environment that catching them was restricted by certain rules and regulations, and that Popplio's entire evolutionary line was on that list. On top of all of that, Nøkk looked so... sad. The man had his cage covered, and he shrank away from them when the man lifted the cover for Quint to look inside. Even if this man had ethically caught the poor pokemon, he wasn't treating him right. Quint decided there and then that they would get Nøkk away from him.

After talking more with the man, Quint learned that there was a fine for catching pokemon in Popplio's line during that season, but that he had captured Nøkk because he "wanted the kids starting their Gym Challenge to have good pokemon". That, and he hadn't actually caught him - transporting him from net to cage without catching in a pokeball - and that Quint could pay ₽20,000 for the luxury of having such a rare pokemon and catching it in their own pokeball.

Quint kindly declined.

That night, Quint snuck back to the docks. Luckily, the man hadn't taken the cage, instead leaving it covered and behind a few crates. Nøkk woke up as soon as they moved the tarp, and looked at them so fearfully that Quint instantly lost all of their bravado. Stammering, they explained that they were there to help, and that he would need to be quiet. When it seemed Nøkk understood, Quint released Aphrodite and had her use Fury Swipes on the cage bars until they broke. It took some coaxing to get Nøkk to allow Quint to hold him, but soon enough the poor pokemon was scooped securely in the trainer's arms and taken down to the beach. There, Quint released him back into the wild; they knew that Popplio wasn't native to Galar, but still hoped that he would somehow find his way back home. They watched him disappear under the water and as his silhouette faded away on the horizon before returning to the hotel.

They could hardly sleep that night.

Whether it be nerves about the Gym Challenge or concern over Nøkk, Quint found themselves on that very same beach early that morning. There, they saw a flash of deep blue amidst the rocks. Fearing the worst, they approached, finding Nøkk cowering between the rocks. He cried out when he spotted them, surging out of the water and up to Quint to barrel into them and cling to their leg. Quint could swear he was sobbing.

They will never know for sure what happened that night. Maybe Nøkk realized how far away from home he was. Maybe a bigger pokemon attacked him. Regardless, the Popplio wouldn't leave their side - not that Quint was trying to make him, after that. They did their best to soothe him, and when he had calmed down some, Quint offered to catch him. They could hide him from the man that way, and take him with them easier. They would carry him along until they had earned enough money in the Gym Challenge to take him back to Alola and find its family - or at least, until they could think of a way to convince an adult to do it for them. Nøkk agreed, and Quint caught him in a Premier Ball right there on that cold morning on the beach.

For the next few weeks, Nøkk travelled with Quint and their team throughout Galar. He was especially fearful of humans back then, and thankfully had no problem staying in his pokeball most of the day. Still, Quint would release him with their other pokemon every night or whenever they were camping, and it was in that time that Nøkk grew close with Quint and the rest of their team. Taking care of him and his episodes of depression and anxiety helped Quint become more compassionate, and while Nøkk was never afraid of the trainer after that first night, he grew to see them more and more as a kind of surrogate parent as time went on. Eventually, he even took an interest in the battles he saw Quint training for with their other pokemon, and asked to start training too. This led to him forming a sibling-like bond with Quint's team, and even officially joining their team and taking on the Gym Challenge with them - once Quint had filled out the proper paperwork of course.

At some point shortly after Nøkk evolved into a Brionne, it came to light that the man who had captured him had taken him from his colony before he had the chance to learn their song. Upon learning of this, Quint, Aphrodite, and the Toxel Quint had received from a friend worked on creating a special song for their team (with Aphrodite and the Toxel both already feeling the more musical urges of their later evolutions, and Quint wanting to encourage and help their pokemon). What resulted was perhaps a bit more... metal than what a Primarina's song may usually be - with Nøkk's haunting falsetto, Aphrodite's rich roars, and the Toxel-turned-Toxtricity's electrifying instrumentals with Quint's supporting bass - but was wholly the culmination of the family Nøkk has in Galar.

Despite their rather... unusual meeting, Nøkk and Quint are quite close as pokemon and trainer. Quint still offers to take him back to his family, and at the very least still plans to take him to Alola when they can, but Nøkk is quite happy with the family that found him.
