Cat Name: Spiderstripe
Gender: male
Rank: warrior/scout
Clan: Knollclan
Age: 2 years, 6 moons
Prompt: [336 words]

It occurred to Spiderstripe that perhaps smiling during a burial ceremony could be regarded as insensitive, or in bad taste.

It wasn't that he didn't care, or was glad that a cat had died- he in fact felt a clenching sadness in his chest whenever he thought of the fact that Finchpaw was gone, that he wouldn't see his young friend bouncing around camp or making those dear little cryptic remarks of hers ever again. It was a tragedy that it had happened so near to her naming ceremony, as well.

The striped tomcat schooled his face into a more mournful look, sitting hunched and solemn among his grieving clanmates. He had been part of the scouting party that had found the lost apprentice- bleeding from chillingly deep wounds, conscious enough to be rushed back to camp. He had sat outside the healer's den with her worried friends and family, waiting for a verdict. Poor Duckpaw had looked like he was about to faint from the fear and shock, and Spiderstripe had comforted the young apprentice,

Suffice to say- it was not the death that Spiderstripe was happy about. He would never be happy over the death of a clanmate.

What intrigued him here was the mystery surrounding it.

He had always been a curious kitten, an inquisitive apprentice- to the point of being nosy, even. The desire to understand what was happening, what was being discussed, the meaning of a word or the reason for events. Spiderstripe had always been drawn to the unknown- and this was another such situation. They did not know how Finchpaw had died, or why. The identity and motive of the killer was unknown. And though a large part of him wanted to find out for the sake of avenging his friend? The reason Spiderstripe was smiling was because of the thrill of the unknown, the promise of a puzzle to solve.

Yes, there was nothing that made Spiderstripe happier than a good mystery. And things were finally getting interesting.

Cat Name: Cheshiretooth
Gender: Male
Rank: tbd
Clan: https://toyhou.se/griffhighwind/charact ... 939?page=1
Age: 17 moons
Prompt: Ready in one... two... THREE! A brilliant flash leapt through the air, before landing square on top of a rather disgruntled black cat. "GET OFF YOU HOOLIGAN!" Crowtail hissed, flailing underneath the much larger cat who simply grinned down at him.

"You're supposed to catch me you goof," Cheshiretooth replied. "And we're gonna keep practicing every day until you do!"

"What?!? That is- I..." But no further argument was entered as Cheshiretooth wandered away. His favorite thing to do? Try and get his littermate to lighten up. And if that meant tackling today? Well, that was what he was going to do! Next time, flowers!
