    Prompt:
The blue she cat sat down on the cold earth with a sigh. Her brow was furrowed and a look of lost danced across her face. Something was off this night. Something was causing the she cat to be on edge. She looked up towards the stars, almost as if she was engulfed within them. What had the she cat so lost in thought, that she did not hear the creature approach her from behind?

As a twig broke under the pressure of a paw; a soft “oop..” was heard. Moondream quickly turned to face the supposed ‘imposter’, only to realize it was the clans lead Queen. “Hmm, Goosefeather. What brings you out on such a cold night tonight?” Moondream’s voice cooed as she settled herself back down. She quickly shook her fur out as the charms that resided tied around her tail jingled in the moonlight. Goosefeather dropped her head slightly and gave a soft chuckle. “Sorry if I startled you, Moondream. I am nearly just visiting the stars as you are.” The she cat settled in next to moondream as a moment of silence washed over the pair. Quickly thinking of something else to break the silence , the queen began. “Y’know, sometimes I could swear the stars are truly alive? Sometimes, I think I can hear the tiniest of voices speaking to me.” Goosefeather said with a sweet smile. It wasn’t enough to make Moondreams worried complexion dissolve.

In fact it made the she cats already worried expression, turn to a more terrified look. Of course with such a look of terror on her face Goosefeather noticed and began to ask. “Hey Moondream... what’s got you so bothered tonight. Are the stars saying something?” She questioned the Star gazer cat. Moondream began to stumble over her words. “I-I- I don’t know- “ within a split second of talking something struck the she cat deep within herself. A soft gasp fell from her muzzle as she fell over. Goosefeather jumped back in surprise. “Moondream! Moondream! Are you okay?” She began to shake the cat trying to wake her up.

When Moondreams eyes awoke again. The world she once knew; now full of stars. An oddly light feeling washed over the cat as she arose to her paws. “Wha- what’s all of these?” She spoke softly as she peered down apon her paws. Little stars twinkled as distance lights around them. “Huh.. that’s so strange.. where am I?” Moondream didn’t have much time to question before a large gust of wind swooped overhead. A single talon dragged across the vacant floor; stars parting the way like water. “Who are you!!” Moondream shouted out as the creature became much more clear. A feathered being much similar to the owls that flew the night sky. Except this time, there was no color to this creature, only the twinkling of connecting stars. Moondream looked crooked at the creature as it landed gracefully in front of her.

The she cat took a single step forward begging to ask another question, “who are you..?” She started. There wasn’t much time for a response before another swift creature like being slithered between her paws. “Ahh!” She shouted as she stumbled backwards. This time the starry being took shape of the dangerous snakes that hunted the grounds. Slithering up to take place next to the owl.

    Image

As she fought the weightless air to regain her stance, just then a heavy paw helped steady her. In fear as to what she was actually facing, she quickly whipped around to face the creature. Claws unsheathed and teeth barred. But this time there was so surprise. Only void in its place. Confused she calmed herself in hopes it was nothing. Hope wasn’t something the she cat seemed to be able to keep as a calming voice rang back in the direction of the beings. “Hello Moondream....” Moondream turned fast on her heels not expecting the voice.

This time though, there stood the clans most hated enemy; a lynx. Fear and defense took over her body as she faced the twinkling creatures. “Alright, enough of your tricks. Where am i!? What have you done with starclan!!” She exclaimed in anger. Only a soft chuckle arose from the she cat. “Oh Moondream, it is alright. We are not here to harm you. We’ve but humble servants to the stars you so praise. we have brought you to the Void. Where both dead and alive souls can interact.” Something within Moondream shifted. She wasn’t sure how but something made her not be so afraid of the creatures before her. She shifted her weight as she decided to sit. “Alright then, who are you and why am I here?” The she cat questioned.

A warm greeting quickly faded from the lynx’s muzzle. And shifted to a more worrisome expression and began to speak again, “I fear we have a grave message for the clans. Something within the stars have shifted. Winds blow in different directions. Darkness consumes what little light is left...” just then a horrific sound made is way ringing in an echo. The starred animals coward in fear behind the lynx. Moondream searched in the direction of where she thought the ghastly sounded eroded from to only find nothing in its place.

The she car turned back towards the lynx now facing her with a stoned expression. “We do not have time to explain. Heed our warning young one and trust none. A sparrow's shriek will shake the Clan to its roots. A buzzard will soar to fight the everlasting darkness approaching. The Clan shall never be the same.” The lynxes voice rose as the void began to shake. Moondream sunk her claws into the nothingness trying to stable herself. “What does that mean! What’s going to happen?” She screeched.

The owl and snake began to speak in unison with the lynx; “A sparrow's shriek will shake the Clan to its roots. A buzzard will soar to fight the everlasting darkness approaching. The Clan shall never be the same” their voice began to speak in a faster rushed tone as the void shakes increased. “A sparrow's shriek will shake the Clan to its roots. A buzzard will soar to fight the everlasting darkness approaching. The Clan shall never be the same”

Moondream tried to hold on as tight as she could afraid of the ending. “What does that mean!! What are you talking about, what sparrow?!” The creatures disappeared as their voices still rung loud and clear. The she cat squeezed her eyes shut preparing for impact of the worse. The shaking continued on until the voices stopped and were replaced by a single soft voice.” Moondream! Wake up, wake up Moondream!”

Moondream sprung awake, grasping at the earth and heaving for air. “Oh Moondream! My stars are you alright you fainted to the earth! What happened??” The voice came from Goosefeather. The she cat who was accompanying Moondream prior. The blue she cat turned to face the queen, “what happpened ? How long was I out??” She questioned. “It wasn’t long but you have me worried. You must have just been exhausted, come. Let us head back to camp and get you laid in a nest.” The queen spoke in a motherly manner.

Confusion set in as what seemed like ages in the void, was only a meer few minutes on earth. How come Moondream had only been chosen to speak with the animals and not Goosefeather as well? What had they even been talking about when speaking about Change? Whatever it may have been Moondream with left with more questions then answers and she feared some would have answers she wasn’t seeking. The she cat turned to Goosefeather and gave a nod, “your right, I must have just been exhausted. Yes let’s head back to camp and get some rest.” Goosefeather gave a soft smile and began the trek back to camp. Moondream took a moment to glance back up at the stars worry in her eyes.

We’re the stars speaking of truth tonight? Or by some chance a cat had above had decided to play an awful trick? Whatever it may be, the times were changing and Moondream was terrified for the sake of the clan.

"Everything that you clan cats thought you knew is wrong." The loner's mew dripped with near-desperate impatience - they just weren't getting it! Their religion was wrong, it was dangerous; they'd strayed too far from the norm, and while that in and of itself wasn't inherently unsafe, these particular cats had gone about it all wrong and ended up with a patron deity that cared little to nothing about what happened to them. She'd seen it written in the stars as plain as she was seeing the obstinate leader of the clan before her, watched the clan's very destruction at the aloof hands of their so-called god. "Let me help you, you thick-headed fools!"

    Clan: Thistleclan
    Age: 89 Moons
    Prompt:

Mooncarver looked up. Even though he was blind, he could see the stars clearly.
"Each star is a life. A life well lived, and a life worth living. The stars are beautiful."
A shooting star dashed across the sky, making his fur tingle.
"A prophecy, yes. Violent winds, gray clouds and lion claws will bring turmoil to this place.
This is something unseen, unheard of. But that's for the next generation to work through,
not me with my old bones."

A she-cat approached him. "Not another one of you so called prophecies. They all turn out
    the same anyways."
He scoffed. "They may not always be like they seem but his one..." he frowned. "This one
is one to be wary of. I'm sure of it."
"If you insist, oh honored elder. Now come, I've got some nice rabbit for you."

Cat Name: Moon in starry sky (Moon)
Gender: She-cat
Rank: Tribe healer
Clan: The Tribe of Singing Wind
Age: 32 moons
Prompt:
Moon gazed up into the sky, the stars shining as brightly as ever. Her ancestors watching her, knowing what she has done. She gazes closer, squinting her eyes and attempting to make out shapes. She could make out vague body parts of cats she thought she remembered. A tail here, an ear there, but one constellation stood out the most. Those eyes. They stared at her, into her very soul. She couldn't look away, and couldn't forget. She closes her eyes and steps back into the herb filled den, the stench flooding her senses. She curls into a tight ball and attempts to drift to sleep.

The stars, however, continue their dutiful watching. Their eyes burned into Moon's pelt. She could feel them, judging her every move.

She would take a break from star gazing for a few moons, just to shake the feeling off of her once again.

Ayla could watch the stars forever, because when she looks up at night when the sky is clear and the stars shine bright she sees a dance. A dance of shimmering, swirling stars as is they come alive only for her. Cat Name: Deathwish
Gender: Female
Rank: Necromancer
Clan: Clan of the Broken Night
Age: 90 moons
Prompt:
In the city, there are no stars.

The haze and the smog and the light drowns them all out, hushes their signs and their warnings, and leaves them with little guidance. She is their only hope of interpretation - her eyes are as clouded as the midnight sky, blurred and perfect. They whisper to her, those hesitant stars, and they give her a small hope for the clan that has taken her in.

Who else would want a blind cat but another half blind cat? Behind their clouded eye, Carrionstar also carried a small amount of hidden knowledge about the secrets in the stars. But not like her - they only gleaned a small amount of what the stars told her, behind the clouds tonight. The moon shone bright, but to her it was a mere blur. She only saw the stars, shrouded in their burial gown of fog and clouds that would soon bring rain to the city.

"The coming rain will drive out the mice," she murmured, turning to the small congregation gathered in the decrepit house they currently called a camp. The attic, with its large hole in the roof, was perfect for stargazing. "Prowlers should head out early, before the birds get a chance to take our share away."

"Tell us something we can't see clearly already," yowled one of the prowlers. She huffed. They just didn't like to get out in the rain. So she turned and held her moon eyes open wide, gazed intently into the hushed sky.
Image

The stars were warning her of impending doom.

"Change is coming. Our numbers will grow quickly, and we will have many more mouths to feed. The rain not only drives out the prey, but the lone wanders as well. The rain will come hard and fast - it will bring with it torrents of water. The streets will fill and flood, and we must stay wary of the unders of the camp. They will become a river by early morning, and anyone left there will be pulled under." She twisted her lithe form and made her way out to the top of the roof, shingles cracking and falling away. Someone gasped as her footing gave way and she slipped, falling onto her stomach, still gazing up, hoping for better news.

"The floods may give, but they will also take."

A hush fell over the small gathering of cats as she closed her eyes and opened her mouth, breathing in the cool night air. The stars were not happy with them tonight. A chill shivered its way through her fur, and she padded back down to the attic, slipped through the hole in the roof.

Carrionstar swiftly met her, their tall dark form pressing against hers. She knew they had hoped for better news tonight, hoped that the stars would finally be in their favor, but this was the opposite of that.

"They are unclear in just what will be taken - life, limb, sight - but something has displeased them. I will travel to Bird's Watch with any cat that seeks guidance on how to right their wrongs, how to twist their fate and please the stars once more. Join me at the base of the camp , and we will journey together, quickly, before the floods come and their prophecy is fulfilled."

There were rustles among the gathered cats, murmuring and asking their brethren if their actions or their thoughts alone may have displeased the stars. This was not true - the actions of a single cat were not enough to turn the stars against them. She wondered who would join her, and just what they may confess to the stars at the top point of the Watch.

Silently she shook her fur out, padded to the base of the camp, and waited. She hoped she was wrong - that the stars were simply too obscured tonight, that the clouds were obfuscating their signs and their wishes, but she knew this was unlikely.

Not once had she been wrong about the guidance of the stars, and tonight was just the same as all the others.
