Ferox Welsh Pony #647

Postby Arkinhallow » Fri Dec 18, 2020 6:00 pm

Ferox Welsh Ponies (pron. feh-roks) are a hardy pony that originated in Wales. They have fine heads with slightly dished noses, short, muscular legs and stocky bodies. While small - averaging 12 hands - feroxes make good riding horses and are sure-footed owing to the mountains of their origin country. Ferox Welsh Ponies, their name meaning fierce, are known for their big personalities, including a streak of bravery that seems to run through the entire breed. Feroxes are strong but easily handled, making them ideal for all riders. They are frequently seen in bay, black, chestnut and grey, but many other colours have been recorded to appear in the breed, including appaloosa, paint markings and dilutions like champagne.

Owner: FadeV
Show Name: Just You and I
Barn Name: Barns
Height: 12.4hh
Discipline: show jumping
Halter Colour: artist's choice!
Competition:

For Barns, the most important thing is beauty. He's quite the vain horse- he must always have a shiny coat, a perfectly brushed mane, and a clean appearance. He hates getting dirty, which makes it a bit hard for him to live outside- when it rains, he'll hide inside the barn so that he'll stay dry and his perfect appearance won't get ruined. He's quite the pretty horse, but he's so snooty it's hard to truly get along with him. All you can do is make sure he looks nice at all times, lest he get angry and refuse to let you ride him. When he first began show jumping, he wouldn't let anyone get onto his back because he was afraid that they might get his coat dirty. Even now, he only barely tolerates him. Still, he's not a bad horse, and he's quite good at his job once you actually manage to ride him. However, his vanity tends to really hold him back.

    Barn Name: aureum
    Height: 14.2hh
    Discipline: show jumping
    Halter Colour: artist's choice
Competition: aureum's most important item is actually more than one but that only because he has a few of that item. it's all the rosettes that he won by placing in show jumping competitions. aureum has had a rough start in this discipline, often stumbled and kocked the obstacless over instead of successfully jumping over them but with a lot of training and determination, he eventually managed to get better and better. And after a few first competitions with not winning anything, he won his very first rosette that is still his favourite to this day, even though he has won several other since then. some call him arrogant because of it but he is just really proud of how far he had come and likes to show those rosettes off to his friends and his owners, sometimes even requesting to wear one on his regular halter but he is not always allowed to.

Owner: bmkmb
Show Name: Thunder Through the Storm
Barn Name: Drenfier (Drumfire)
Height: 12.3hh
Discipline: Reining
Halter Colour: silver
Competition: Out of all the items belonging to Drenfier, both he and his handlers agree that his bridle ranks first in terms of importance. Drenfier has used the same western style bridle since his earliest reining lessons, and he refuses to ride without it, emitting an aura of restrained hostility whenever the tack is substituted. Similar to the color of his halter, the bridle shines silver in the sunlight, although it's also studded with hints of false gold. The simple piece if equipment provides Drenfier with some sense of comfort; it amuses his handlers whenever they note down the source of said comfort alongside his innate arrogance. With the natural grace and confidence he displays, one would assume Drenfier cherish his awards rather than his gear; however, the pony barely cares about those unpractical objects. As long as he spots his bridle amongst the rest of his tack, Drenfier remains content to compete for his rider one more time.
