Clan: Tribe That Follows Rivers Through Trees
Prompt:

Bush Cover had heard the old adage "Great leaders are poor lovers" but had never understood it fully until he began his relationship with Tiger Star. Their tribe had to come first, always, and in their time together, she was often too exhausted to even talk after watching over and maintaining the tribe all day.

(I know my art skills aren't the best but I don't think it's too bad?)

(Thanks! Queen's style may influence mine somewhat, mostly because she's my sister and better at it than me.)

PROMPT 7
Username: angel furby
Clan: orchidclan
Word count: 875 words
Prompt:

A well-groomed tortoiseshell cat sat in front of Cherry and her siblings, a pretty charm dangling from the white collar around her neck. This signified her kittypet status, the comfortable lifestyle she lived. These cats would never struggle, always being provided for by their twolegs.
The kittens squirmed around as their mother cleaned their fur, her eyes sparkling in pride and excitement. "Today is the day, kittens. You're going to get chosen by your own twolegs!" she told them warmly, a smile on her face. "I want you to look your best. Keep on your best behaviors!" she reminded them.
It was a bittersweet day. They would be taken to their new homes, yes, but they would also be separated from their family. However, these kittens were lucky; their mother's twoleg wanted them to stay in the same neighborhood, she made sure all the twolegs coming to see them lived nearby.
"Cider!" they heard the twoleg yowl from a distance. Cherry didn't understand most of the strange creatures' nonsense, but this was one of the things she did- her mother's name. Cider looked at her kits, studying each one carefully. "If you guys only remember one thing I've taught you, I want it to be this," her expression went serious, "as you grow up, you will learn that sibling relationships are complicated. You are young, the only thing you fight about is who gets to choose what game you play next," she paused for a moment, smiling at her kits, "you are all lucky, most kittens don't get the privilege of being able to visit each other after moving homes. I did not, and the last thing I said to my brother was, 'I never want to see you again.'" those words haunted her every day, she wanted nothing more than to see her brother again.
"As you get older, you will realize there are things more important than the silly games you play. I want you guys to remember, no matter how angry you get at each other, always forgive your siblings. Don't make the same mistakes I did. We are a family, I never want my children to hate each other." she licked each of their foreheads, purring. "I'll see you after you meet your twolegs to say goodbye." a dull sadness rose in Cherry's stomach as she watched her mother walk away.

Harsh sheets of rain fell down on the two cats, their angry yowls rising above the thunder crashing in the distance.
"What is wrong with you?" Cherry hissed, her claws digging into the fence as the wind buffeted her fur. "You're so arrogant, you act as if your opinions are fact! They mean nothing, Cyrus." she spat.
"Honey is going to make a terrible mother, she was irresponsible to start a family. She can barely take care of herself! I was only trying to help her." the ginger cat huffed. It was clear he didn't feel any regret for what he said.
"How is that helping her? She's already pregnant, and she's going to make a great mother. You just can't handle other's success, you're jealous! You're a failure, you've done nothing with your life but sit around while your twolegs cater for you." Cherry's words dug deep, she knew that, but she was too angry to care. She scoffed at his silence.
"Hit too close to home, huh? You know I'm right. Honey is sensitive, saying that to her did nothing but hurt her." she growled, her yowls rang clear above the rain.
"She's like that because of you! You protect her like she's a kit, and now she practically is one! If she can't handle the truth, that's her fault, not mine!" he yowled, rage burning in his belly.
Before Cherry could reply, Cyrus turned tail and lept off the fence.
"Don't come back, you're nothing to us!" she screeched, anger taking over as she watched him disappear into the distance.
Cherry shook her pelt as she returned to her twoleg house, her mind stuck on the fight with her brother. "You shouldn't have said that. You went too far," she mumbled to herself, her last words to her brother playing over and over in her head.

"Don't come back," he repeated Cherry's words under his breath. Cyrus' tail lashed back and forth, unable to think of anything but what she said to him. "I'm nothing to her, to any of them. They never liked me, not even Mom. She always preferred her little girls," he growled, tearing up the ground beneath his paws.
He stormed through the forest, the twoleg city far behind him. "I'll take your advice, Cherry, since you know everything! I won't come back!" his fur clung to his body, soaked from the rain. Thunder and lightning crashed above him as if the sky was just as angry as the two siblings.
The wet grass slowly turned to rough pavement; the rain pattered around him as he walked.
Too angry to focus on his surroundings, he was completely unaware of what was about to happen. Dim yellow lights and a strange rumbling sound approached him, and he realized too late what it was- a monster. Only a few seconds later, the world went black.

PROMPT 8
Username: QueenOfWyrms
Clan: Groveclan
Word count: 554
Prompt:

A chill breeze whispered through the trees, setting the leaves ashiver. Within the camp even the kits slept, none waking to see the beauty of the starlight night. No guard watched the entrance, for there was nothing yet they had come to fear. Behind ivy drapery in a hollow of stone, one cat stirred; now-familiar callings dragging her from a deep sleep in the warm embrace of her mate. Her eyes opened, if had had looked they would have seen naught but the stars in her gaze. Across the grassy clearing, a sweet keen awakened another who slept alone in an long-gone predator's den, shielded from the cold of the night by a blanket of leaves. The two each arose, one disentangling herself from her lover, the other sweeping aside stray herbs that awaited organization on the morrow; her gaze, too, reflected only Starpelt. They stepped in unison, padding out of their dens and into the moonlit night. The two mollies walked out of camp, slow and steady as if in a trance. The lull of the stars had called them, and as their sacred duty they would answer. To the north they moved, heading further out, and soon they began to climb further up. They had reached the first step of the Moon Ridge. At the fullest face of the moon, the light washed over the Ridge in it's full glory. One, as is the right of the medicine cat, stopped on the first ridge, turning towards the moon and closing her eyes, waiting for her leader to be in place. The other molly, the leader, climbed her way to the ninth step, the journey representing her nine lives, with each lost, for age or battle or sickness, she would earn a lower step. She too turned to face the moon, it's light shining into her eyes. Gently, softly, slowly, she closed them.

In an instant, the night around them warmed and they looked on at a great crowd of familiar and unfamiliar cats--Starclan. In the foremost position stood Glacierdust, the Guide. He greeted them each in turn, and they spoke of happenings in the last moon. The two living mollies of those matters which they knew in the living world, and Glacierdust of those that could only be seen from the gaze of the stars. When they were done, and all to speak of was spoken of, the gathered cats around them stepped forward and they all lifted their voices in song; the song was one of heart, of the moon, of the stars, of life, of death, of all that comes after. Throughout the song, the cats began to fade, the oldest and wanest first and then the younger until only the Guide remained. Some would never return, having moved on to a place of green pastures and rivers of milk and honey. The rest they would see again, for a time. Only the Guide was eternal, and even he would join them when the very last cat breathed his very last breath.

For now, the two mollies gave their good-byes to Glacierdust and he to them. Their eyes opened and they returned to the living world. Carefully, they made their way back to the camp as false dawn lit the horizon, rested as though they had spent the time asleep.

PROMPT 8
Username: ElizaChikatta
Clan: Owlclan
Word count: 317 Words
Prompt:
Swishy & Broken wrote:does your clan believe in starclan? or something else entirely? tell us about their moonpool, or equivalent (:

Owlclan does indeed believe in Starclan, however there is more depth to their religion than meets the eye. As Starclan resembles Heaven, they also have The Broken Land as their opposite. They also recognize several gods, both good, bad, and even neutral Gods.
Cats that murdered indiscriminately, broke Clan rules without regret, or acted too selfishly will meet The Judge and fail judgment. This will doom them to be sent to The Broken Land. Blinded by sin, these cats will try to tempt those they can get into contact with.
It is said that within the darkened forest in the neutral territory between Owlclan and Plainclan, quite a few of the many Starpaths pass through this forest nicknamed Starpath's Roots, letting spirits of both StarClan and the Broken Land to wander this darkened and eerily serene place. Starpaws journey here with their Seers to first meet the Gods in a hidden cave in the depth of the forest, their equivalent to the moonpool. Often, Seers come here to seek advice or find the rarer herbs grown in the shade and shadows here. While it is not explicit, it is implied that only Seers and Starpaws should enter this forest, whose senses have received initial mental protection from a god and continued to harden it against those from the Broken Land who may try to tempt them.
The cave hidden within the forest has been named The Whispering Cove. More sensitive Seers can hear the spirits that dwell there before they even complete their first journey into Starclan, and for those that have the experience, the wide cave filled with glittering walls that hint at crystals and central pond often have visible spirits lounging around. It seems this place is more a dwelling for spirits of Starclan, for it is impossible to meet a cat of the Broken Land there and Gods only occasionally show their presence there.

PROMPT 8
Username: angel furby
Clan: orchidclan
Word count: 867 words
Prompt:

The dark sky loomed above the two she-cats traversing through the tall grass, sparkling stars speckled throughout. The dim gleam from the full moon lit up their pathway as if their starry ancestors were showing the way themselves. A warm breeze ruffled Sweetwhisker and Cherrystar’s fur, scented of fresh grass.
Over the horizon, the shadowy silhouette of The Stone Circle stood out against the pale moon rising over the sloping valley. “We’re almost there,” Sweetwhisker’s soft meow broke the eerie silence surrounding them. Cherrystar nodded in response, speeding up her pace.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the stones, though they had better get started soon; if they waited too long, they might miss their chance. Sweetwhisker sighed, eyeing the rocks in front of her. “I hope they answer,” she confided, her voice sounded fragile. The lack of contact from Starclan recently had been concerning for both of the cats, worried they might’ve done something to upset them.
They believed Starclan wholeheartedly, trusting the starry cats to help guide them through clan life. However, the concept is new and strange to them; they didn’t quite understand everything yet. Cherrystar didn’t even know such a thing existed until she was visited in her dreams by a cat known as Orchidstem, the healer of an ancient clan who once inhabited the same territory as Orchidclan long ago.
“I’m sure it will be fine,” Cherrystar reassured her, though she was just as doubtful as her friend. She gave a small smile to Sweetwhisker, hoping to instill some confidence in her before attempting to connect with Starclan. She took a deep breath, approaching the stones; they seemed to sparkle with the force of a million stars as the moonlight reflected off of them. The two cats curled up beside each other, touching their noses to one of the stones.
Cherrystar allowed her eyes to close, her anxious thoughts drowning out the sounds of faint wind and harmonies sung by nearby crickets. Please, Orchidstem. We need you.
Sweetwhisker and Cherrystar’s eyes fluttered open to the beautiful hollow they missed so dearly; Starclan has heard them. They stood in a clearing surrounded by trees, their bodies felt light, as if they were floating. The air around them seemed to be sparkling, flittering through the air and dancing through the trees. Glowing particles floating off of the plants surrounding them; a genuinely ethereal sight.
A pretty white and lilac tabby walked out from behind the glimmering trees, fitting with her surroundings perfectly. Her starry, transparent pelt and her sparkling grey eyes made her look like a supernatural being, a beautiful one. She moved gracefully towards the two she-cats, nearly floating. “Cherrystar, Sweetwhisker.” she nodded in greeting; her voice was melodic, almost.
“Hello, Orchidstem. It’s good to see you,” Cherrystar replied with a smile, walking through the misty air towards her with Sweetwhisker following closely behind. Though Sweetwhisker and Orchidstem were friendly, of course, the Starclan cat had somewhat of a special bond with Cherrystar.
“I apologize for my silence. It can sometimes be difficult to reach you at your camp,” she turned to Sweetwhisker, dipping her head in regret. She took a seat in the grass, wrapping her tail around her paws. “To be quite honest, I don’t see the importance of speaking to you too often anymore. You are leading Orchidclan well, Cherrystar. And you, Sweetwhisker, are doing great too. I don’t see any threats you cannot handle, you no longer need my guidance at this point.” she explained, examining the two cats in front of her.
Cherrystar nodded, thinking. Orchidclan was doing well, she supposed there really wasn’t much reason to speak to Orchidstem at this time. “You might be right,” she spoke up, glancing at Sweetwhisker. The healer stayed silent, despite the anxiousness showing in her eyes. She clearly wasn’t confident in her ability to care for the clan without Orchidstem’s help.
She looked up at the cloudless sky, the bright moon shining on the hollow they sat in. The vibrant, clear light provided the glade with a soft, pale glow. “Perhaps,” she paused for a moment to gather her thoughts, “every full moon, we could visit The Stones; unless there is something urgent, there is no need for you to contact us outside of those times.” the suggestion seemed to strike fear in Sweetwhisker, but she knew it would be for the best.
Orchidstem smiled, nodding at Cherrystar’s idea. “I think that’s a wonderful idea, Cherrystar. Sweetwhisker can visit every full moon, along with any healer’s aid she may begin training.” she turned her steady gaze to the healer, “what do you think?” she tilted her head; Orchidstem was painfully aware of Sweetwhiskers anxieties.
The grey cat, too afraid to speak up, nodded in silence. She glanced at Cherrystar, unsure what to say. “It’s settled then,” the much more confident cat spoke for her friend. “Thank you for all your help, Orchidstem. I hope to see you again soon.”
The cats said their farewells, watching as Orchidstem disappeared within the luminous undergrowth of the magical forest. Cherrystar and Sweetwhisker lie down next to each other, closing their eyes and preparing to be brought back to the waking world.
