SPAAACE
As a soul is dragged down into the depths of the earth by savage hounds sent to retrieve them as punishment for not paying their due, it is not uncommon for panic and fear to surge through their being as they envision the demonic beast which must be lurking below, waiting to devour them. Long, twisted horns, eight savage eyes, a mouth large enough to engulf a city; surely the beast of depths is a fearsome thing. When a voice barks to the hounds and their fangs release, the soul often flips to stare at their killer, preparing for the worst, however they are not met with the nightmare they envisioned.
Lalotai is the keeper of the dark beasts in the Underground, but unlike her home and occupation, she's quite the friendly viscet. She's always warm and welcoming to the souls her hounds drag in and helps them to feel at home until the demon that is searching for them arrives. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is always up for a game of Maou.
Lalotai's job is taxing, so much so that those before her were forced to resign after losing their minds and unleashing the dark beasts on the world with no cause. However, after forty unaging years of working Lalotai remains with a firm mind and a set will. Her job is dark and cruel, but Lalotai does not mind and actually loves her work. In the Underground, not many come to visit...willingly, and so having a steady stream of souls to converse with and play games with before their tormentor arrives is a wonderful thing. Of course, there are those who don't want to play and instead try to run or attack her. To them, a new game is designed, one that allows her hounds to stretch their legs and get some exercise. The demons who picked the soul never really mind when they pick up their target after this game, in fact it makes them laugh. To all in the Underground, a few things are very clear, and one of those is to never turn down a game with Lalotai.
Lalotai is a gentle creature with a peppy and happy personality which calms almost all she meets. Still, being a sweet soul does not mean that she takes her job any less seriously. Any soul that comes to her, no matter how much she enjoys their company, is always sent to their requester.

After a long day's work of sending my pups and winning games against summoned spirits, I often find myself with a craving for something both hot and warm, and very sweet. Unfortunately, down here not much grows that fits those requirements. There's the constantly burning barrai's, but they're too acidic and sour. Then there's the frozen rujka's, but they're just way too spicy. It's hard to find anything that fits my craving down here, but that doesn't mean I can't get it.
Worms.
Large, hairy, and fanged.
At first glance a lot of souls, and even some demons, panic and run, but they're actually really kind, and they care a lot for me. When I first vented my craving to them, they set off to the surface without warning. It was night, so I didn't mind them leaving and allowed it, curious to see where this would go. They came back after an hour with the most wondrous thing!
It was called Apple Pie and had this cool substance called Vanilla Icecream on top.
I was eager to eat it and quickly took a hearty first bite, and my heart was instantly sold. The warmth of the pie was perfect, not too hot but not too cold, and the chill of the ice cream sent a ripple of goosebumps down my spine.
After that day, desert was never the same. I would go through my job, converse and play with the souls, but when night began to fall upon the surface, the worms would rush upward and return with that amazing desert. It's amazing, and I can't imagine life without it, so that's why I need you to make me an oath, right here and now. You can't tell anyone about this, especially not the creatures that live down here. If they were to find out, not only would I be fired, but I would never be able to have that desert again, an you can bet that if that were to happen, then the Underground would be raised.
