Fun fact! Six million years ago, the 70kg 22 wingspan vulture relative argentavis roamed the skies as the largest bird of flight in history!

Name: carrion ( turkey vultures are sometimes referred as Carrion crows in some countries, here is it's definition (figured I would link it instead of saying it just in case)
Gender: male
Prompt:
Observant, tedious, knowledgeable, keen, protective, quick thinking and sometimes rowdy
Image

Bonus
Vultures are relatively silent as they lack a syrinx so they can only hiss, growl, and snarl
Thought that was actually pretty interesting

A fun fact about the vulture shown above: The Bearded vulture is the only living bird species that specializes in feeding on bone marrow. Its old name ossifrage means "bone breaker" and relates to this habit.

A fun fact, the bearded vulture is one of the rarest raptors in Europe. It also apparently has an asteroid named after it!

Turkey Vulture: turkey vultures were incredibly common to see at my undergrad campus, to the point that many people considered them a nuisance (especially the administration). But I was always happy to see them gliding around in the skies, it was a calming sight to watch for me on my way to classes. They are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918!

Okay, technically that was an image of a Blue Jay molting, but they do look a bit like vultures in that state, no? Here's the real vulture image. || source

The Nigerian Vulture is a comparatively handsome vulture which is currently endangered because they are being hunted, their heads and feathers used in religious rituals and they are also being consumed as a form of traditional medicine. This is because spiritually they are revered as a being which is capable of communicating with the dead and appeasing the gods, though it is believed that certain individual vultures are good while others are evil, and it's the 'evil' ones which are targeted by poachers.
