The pride that filled Sun's heart when he had managed to catch a fish with his bare paws and no assistance at all was filled to the brim. The leader held his tail high as he hung tightly to the slimy blue prey, making sure that if it dared to spasm, it would get free dead or not. Unfortunately that meant that he would be wet now. cold from attempting to hunt in an unfamiliar terrain. While the cat didn't sink fully into the water by any means, the splash of the prey dampened not only the claw he used to slay his food, but his face and chest from recoil.

None the matter, Sun would find a temporary place to burry the food and move on to the next thing he needed to hunt for the territory. Returning to the den with plenty of food to warm the hearts of all his kin. The food would be stored for the harsh weather that could come in the near future, as group of cats used unique ways to keep the food fresh. Nestling it deep in the cold earth helped, but it also seemed that using special herbs and the cold stones they found at the edge of there territory.

Soon after Sun would return to hunting, bringing his deputy with him. The two of them sniffed the air and realized how cold the air was, and how leaf fall was upon them. The two of them grimaced slowly, but considered the situation. The queens would need clean, and more nesting, extra food for the kits, and some more in case a snow storm or dangerous predator lurked for to long around the dens. As they pondered these thoughts quietly, they walked with each other to the hunting grounds where the two of them would take separate ways to find what they needed.

Sun took the higher root, and watched the mountain goats suspiciously. "Perhaps they are telling the prey where we are." He was alone, so he was mewing to himself. More or less keeping his sanity in the dead quiet of the wind. "If only I could take one of those on." Knowing very well the goat would win in a fight, he left it be, turning to tall grass in hopes to find some mice, voles, or if really lucky, and brave enough to take it on, a snake.

Crow was more weary about his hunting choice, instead choosing to follow his leaders footsteps in an attempt at fish. He had caught fish from the lake before, and wanted to do this again as it was much safer then prowling around in tall grass. Other then being out in the open that is, but being downwind allowed him to sense predators if they were to approach. The deputy wanted to be careful.

Smokestorm stalked around the territory in search of prey but all that could be found was some scraps. +1scraps, +1FP, +1XP this didnt help the teasing coming from krestelspeck to stop.
While smokestorm was hunting, krestelspeck searched for herbs. She managed to find quite a bit, enough to keep her mouth busy enough to not tease smokestorm +2sweet-sedge, +2lungwort, +4XP smokestorm seemed to redeem himself though as he found a very shiny rock which turned out to be a special item!

Fishing wasnt going as well as crowmask had hoped it would. He watched the water very carefully until he spotted something dark and fish shaped drifting under the water. Crowmask waited until it was much closer and quickly flashed his paw in and then back out of the water claws unsheathed. What clung to the end of his claws wasnt a fish but some scraps +1scraps, +1FP, +1XP
After his unsuccessful hunt he rejoined sunstar and together the two found some herbs +2raspberry leaves, +2XP
Just as they plucked up the last bit of raspberry leaves crowmask picks up the scent of a fox. Do they choose to pursue the threat?

“shadowflurry! I’m leaving you in charge.” foxstar mewed while trying to get up from the nest. robin’s cry shook her head.
“no, no, foxstar. don’t get up.” she looked to shadowflurry, smiling at her shadowflurry. “maybe you could take the apprentices out? I’m sure the new apprentices would love to go out on patrol.” right after coming back to camp, foxstar had announced shadowflurry’s new name, and pronounced him a full member of the clan. he also apprenticed the kits, maplepaw, sequoiapaw, and cacaopaw. they were dying to see the territory, but no one was leaving yet. limepaw had been ecstatic at the thought of other apprentices. apparently, the closed-off young she-cat had been lonely, very lonely.
foxstar tried to nod, give his permission. though technically, he wasn’t in charge at the moment. “thank you foxstar. and yes, robin’s cry, we should take the apprentices out! they’d love it.”
robin’s cry stared at him. “oh. I’m not going! I’ve got to stay here - foxstar needs some serious help.” the leader tried to reply, but just ended up groaning in response, “besides, it’ll be good work for cacaopaw. he needs to learn how to dress a wound if we’re gonna get anywhere.”
and with that, shadowflurry gathered the apprentices and their mentors, and left for patrol.

Lightstar acknowledged Windchaser's catch with an impressed nod. The she-cat's skills were coming along very nicely already. A surge of pride shot through the leader as she spotted Rapidstrike and Silentstalk padding back with some herbs. Now, Lightstar herself didn't know much about herbs. Or anything really. Which reminded her that she needed to find a cat with the heart of a softpaw. Or, what the old clans would call a medicine cat she if she recalled correctly. The white and ginger striped she-cat nodded to the two before complimenting Windchaser on her mouse. "Well caught. You've been living up to your name Windchaser. There's not a mouse out there that's been able to outrun you yet." Windchaser snorted a laugh and scraped some grass and dirt over the mouse to be picked up later. "Hah, just wait until leafbare starts to set in. I'll be clambering about in the snow like any other cat." Lightstar smiled, appreciating her clanmate's honesty and humor. Rapidstrike and Silentstalk approached before they could continue and the deputy gestured to the border a short distance away. "Lightstar, shall we remark the border now?" Said she-cat thought for a moment before humming in agreement. "Yes. Windchaser, Silentstalk, you two should keep hunting. We'll regroup by that pillar over there." She motioned to an aged stone pillar with her tail and everyone murmured in agreement before splitting up. She and Rapidstrike went toward the border while their other two clanmates continued in their hunting endeavors. As Lightstar rubbed her cheek against a bush, Rapidstrike marked a tree along the border. "Shortspark's cough is starting to worry me Lightstar..." Lightstar lifted her head, expression grim. "Me too. She's always had a bit of a cough, but I fear she's starting to come down with something since the rain two sunrises ago." The white and grey tabby tom shook his head in frustration, eyes fixed on a distant spot past their territory. "We need to find herbs to treat her cough before it gets worse or spreads...did Starclan say anything to you about herbs during your training?" Lightstar shifted her paws and absentmindedly marked another bush with her scent. "I'm not meant to be a softpaw. I am the leader of Lightclan. We need to find a cat who can fill in the empty space." Rapidstrike rolled his shoulders as if he'd expected such a response. "Where are we supposed to find a softpaw? We've hardly been able to find cats willing to join us as is." Lightstar padded up to Rapidstrike and rested her tail over his shoulders. "We'll just have to have faith. The four clans beyond the horizon spent seasons building their clans. We may know what kind of cats we want to be, but we are no different from them. Give it time Rapidstrike." The large tom gazed at Lightstar and bowed his head. "Of course. Starclan will guide our paws down the right path." The conversation didn't do much to quell the two cat's worries about their little clan, but at least everything was out in the air. So, with one last rub against a stump, Lightstar lead the way further down the border.

The morning air had been filled with excitement as the cats had been thrilled to go out once deemed safe to patrol their new territory. Letting out a call for the selected individuals to gather, he would give them a brief pep talk. ''Morning, it is nice to see you all here and I hope you all have rested up and prepared yourselves today. Please keep in mind we are working to stock up for leafbare. This goes for both prey, herbs and extra bedding to keep warm. Be safe and mindful, no one goes alone. I want teams in case we have missed track of any predators. If you are in trouble, let out a call and we will all come aid you.'' The tom smiled warmly, wanting to ease any worries of danger. ''Keanu, you will stay with your mentor, Xepona. Okay?'' After receiving a sign of compliance from the youthful tom, he then nodded. ''Lets head out, be back before the sun is at its peak.''
Upon dismissal of the patrol, he would notice the new mother at unease as she would leave her kit's side for the first time. ''Moira, do not fret. I made sure Akemi is to take diligent care of them.'' A purr of assurance rumbled in his throat. After the small chat, he then focused on being of aid to Senshi in hunting.

Warden | Objective: Hunting
Taking things a bit more serious than what they needed to be, Senshi had been acting as Azeroth's shadow. They were always there, watching the ways of their mentor and leader. It was even an ongoing nickname of ''Shadow'' among the youth of the tribe. After Azeroth had spoken, they decided to pitch in. ''Good luck and stay safe.'' Senshi attempted at a meek smile before turning and padding off. By the time Azeroth caught up with him, he gave a nod of greeting.

Shaman | Objective: Finding Herbs
Moira had happily spent the night with her kits in her own den, she had made them what was considered a perfect bed for new and expecting mothers. In the morning when Akemi had come to relieve her of her duty of cuddling the kits and keeping them warm, the shaman found it hard to move away from Basim and Ichiro. The want to stretch her legs and get things done had convinced her to get up and give a goodbye nuzzle to her offspring. ''Thank you Akemi for staying back and watching them while Saorise and I go to get more herbs.'' Giving a dip of her head in thanks, she then moved outside of her den and stretched out widely. Moira desperately needed the fresh air and the feeling of sun upon her fur. Lazily making her way over to the group, she was shown rather tired as she found herself rubbing her eyes and yawning. Watching Saorise help Keanu calm down brought a smile to her lips. After being bid good luck from Senshi, she stretched out once again before walking out of camp and towards the mountainside for herbs.

Guardian | Objective: Finding Herbs
Saorise had been up well before the expected time to head out for patrol, humming softly to herself as she cleaned up around camp and a few dens here and there. She always seemed to enjoy taking on the role of keeping things tip-top and in shape. By the time Azeroth called, she had been in the middle of tending to her own pelt. Saorise let out a small huff and mumbled to herself. ''Out of all things I've done, you had to call in the middle of prettying myself up.'' The shecat then moved to the group, smiling in greetings. Her optics had been keen to noticing her trainee's overstimulation and excitement for his first patrol, she would lean down to him and speak softly. ''Keanu, try your breathing exercise?'' She offered to him, seeing he had taken her advice, she smiled and took a seat aside him. Saorise were put to ease by Azeroth's guiding words, nodding as her and Moira had planned prior to stick together and look for herbs. After dismissal, she happily moved over to shaman with a purr. ''Morning Moira. Its a great morning.'' Knowing of the new mother's unease, she did her best to stick to the bright side of things.

Warrior | Objective: Hunting
Suddenly being woken by the chief's call, she groggily forced her eyes to remain awake a few moments as they took in their surroundings. Barely catching herself begin to doze off again, she forced herself up and shook out her pelt that needed a cleaning. ''Mmph.. Its too early for this.'' Xepona complained in a whine. As Akemi passed by on her way to Moira's den, she chuckled. ''You complain like a kit.'' Xepona's hair had gone up as she stuck her tongue out at the tease. ''Do not!'' The borderline hothead huffed and made her way to the gathering of clan members headed out for patrol. Seeing her apprentice already there and being the massive ball of excitement he always was, she huffed. She was in for a long morning.

Trainee | Objective: Hunting/Finding Herbs
The youthful tom were nearly restless the night before his big day; his first patrol! The trainee tossed and turned all night, it felt as if it took forever for Azeroth to give his gathering call. Keanu was quick to bolt over to the camp exit and let out a mew of excitement. After being gently reminded by his motherly friend, Saorise to calm himself; he sat down and took a few deep, even breaths to ground himself and focus on the chief's words. Keanu had bounced around after his mentor after dismissal.

The patrol leaves camp. With permission, the apprentices take the lead and start scouting out prey. It's not until the hear a twig snap that they notice a plump rabbit on the other side of tree. They crouch down carefully as to not alert the prey of their presence, and carefully make their way over to the rabbit. They stand in their positions, and get ready to pounce. One of them scares the rabbit, and guides it right into the paws of the other apprentice. Well done! +1 Rabbit

After the apprentices make that stellar kill, the warriors look around to see if there is any prey left in the area. Luckily for them, there was a mouse trapped in a bush. An easy kill, but a good one at that. +1 Mouse

After catching the prey, the patrol decides to look for herbs now. Herbs are just as important as prey, you know. The patrol comes across an Alder tree. It's bark will be useful. +1 Alder Bark

A tall and pretty Willow Tree sits by a lake. The bark from this tree is known to have medicinal uses as well, so the patrol takes some home. +1 Willow Bark

The patrol continued their search for food. The patrol was downwind, so prey wouldn't be alerted of their presence. Windchaser alerted the patrol of prey nearby. A hare, ready to be caught. Being slow and careful, Windchaser got as close as she could before making a near perfect pounce and catching the rabbit. Lightstar gave her even more praise, saying "I told you so!" +1 Hare

Eventually, the patrol regrouped at the pillar, and Lightstar noticed Windchaser carrying the hare from earlier. She grinned at the she-cat, who lifted her head proudly, mouth too full to say anything. Silentstalk was holding Windchaser's mouse by its tail, glad that he was helping carry the prey. When everyone looked prepared to head back to the camp, the ginger striped she-cat led the way. The patrol kept their eyes and ears peeled for signs of prey, other cats, or worse, predators. They came upon a pile of reddened bones lying casually on the ground. Silentstalk, ever the curious cat, was the first to approach it. Lightstar sniffed warily, mew coming out as a warning, "Silentstalk, what is it?" Windchaser prodded her mate with her nose, peeking curiously at the bones. With a sigh, Silentstalk backed away, eyes on the disturbing objects. "It's a few bones...prey perhaps, but I don't smell anything around it." Rapidstrike approached the bones, tail twitching unhappily. "Maybe it just got unearthed by the rain or carried here by floodwater." The swiftclaw raised his chin, eyes narrowed. "This looks like it's fresh. And look here, there are no tracks around it, but it has teeth marks on it. Cat from the looks of it.", Lightstar eyed the bones, noticing that Silentstalk was right. Rapidstrike's pupils constricted, and he jabbed at the bones with a claw. "Was it those twolegplace cats? Do you think they've heard about us, Lightstar?" With even steps, Lightstar approached the bones, a frown on her muzzle. She quirked her tail, not pleased that her deputy was jumping to such conclusions. It would cause unnecessary worry. "No. We've kept clear of the twolegplace since the last moon. But, I'll check the borders with Rapidstrike this evening just in case." She huffed, deciding it would be best to look around later just in case. It was true that they'd not ventured into the dangerous city cats' land, but perhaps someone had ratted them out. A cat she'd spoken to in the past seemed like a possibility. Stepping away, Lightstar shook out her fur to rid herself of the prickling under her skin. There were only four cats capable of defending Lightclan right now. If some rogues came along, how would they protect themselves? It was a valid worry, but not one Lightstar had the time nor energy to fret over. Rogues may never come to their secluded camp. Lightstar should focus on things that she could directly impact. Windchaser's whiskers twitched, a fierce look in her eyes. Lightstar didn't blame her for being upset. The she-cat had explained to Lightstar and Rapidstrike that the twolegplace cats had mistreated her in the past. She'd never asked for details, but Lightstar could imagine the many days Windchaser might've gone hungry because of those glorified thieves who liked to call themselves guardians. With a sharp twist, Lightstar started back on the way to the camp. "Let's get going. If anyone smells prey, feel free to catch it. We could always use a day off from hunting to fortify the camp." Rapidstrike nodded in agreement. "The bramble barrier is a little sparse, and with leafbare on its way, we should try to insulate the dens a bit." Windchaser and Rapidstrike went on the discuss plans for the camp as Lightstar kept a careful watch out for anything suspicious.

The two of them joined together at some point. Walking slowly down the path side by side, Sun began to purr, the gathering of food was getting better, and his friend was teaching him a bit about the herbs they were gathering. Including the one at that very moment, rasberry Leaves. Crowmask was proudly lying about his big fish catch when something caught his attention. Fox.

His ears were pinned back, as he glanced at his friend and leader Sun, he noticed the tom was to distracted by the red berries to even notice the predator smell. This concerned him, as he was sure the man was getting on the older end. "Sun," He spoke quickly and quietly. "A predator." This finally got his friends attention. "Should we head back?"

Sun frowned. With the way weather was, if the headed back to frequently they would run out of energy before getting the food they needed. "No, though we should keep ahead of it. There's some brush that way, if we keep downwind of it, they won't smell us." The leader seemed hesitant, but what choice did they have. If the Fox was close and they bolted, a chase would begin, and neither of them stood a chance in a fight alone. The best chances were to either slowly head back to camp or slowly hunt while hiding from the fox. Either way they weren't gonna dare go towards the threat.

The two of them followed Sun's instructions to the letter. Hiding among the brush, hoping the smell of the plants would desquise them from the fox and tried to stay downwind of it for as long as they could. if all else failed, they would bolt for the den without the prey they recently berried. The two of them kept closed lipped, and highly focused.

Kestrelspeck burst through the entrance to the Hunters' den, waking Smokestorm with a start.
"You ready?" She practically bounced up and down with excitement. He had no idea what she meant. Giving her a questioning look, she groaned and explained how she really really liked going out on hunting patrols! Smokestorm sighed and got up out of his nice warm nest, padded through the camp entrance, and into the woods with Kestrelspeck talking his ear off the whole way.
"If you don't pipe down, the whole forest will know where we are!" He scolded. She narrowed her eyes but halted her speech anyway. Smokestorm told her to stay behind him, but she refused, so Kestrelspeck was right next to him...And seemed to step on every twig in the whole forest. He desperately tried to ignore all the mistakes and focused on the warmth of her fur. Seeing himself straying from the task ahead, he pushed Kestrelspeck from his mind, then dropped to a hunter's crouch, taking a deep breath to survey the area and its treasures. What will the forest hold for these cats?

Rapidstrike, now very alert for any signs of cats or prey was on the prowl. He kept his ears up for any signs for a rustling bush or a crunched twig. He stopped for a breif moment. He tilted his head towards the ground, hearing some rustling dirt beneath the surface. He followed the sounds and found a hole in the ground, and then another hole in the ground a few tail lengths away. He signaled for one of the cats to come, and Silentstalk stepped up to the plate. Silentstalk caught on the plan, and positioned themselves at the second hole, ready to pounce. Rapidstrike wailed into the ground, causing the creature below to run towards the other hole, where Silentstalk killed it. It was a hedgehog! Luckily no cat got pricked. +1 Hedgehog

Sunstar and Crowmask successfully evaded the fox after some careful maneuvering. They both sat for a moment, collecting themselves. Then, they both agreed to try and get some more prey before going to camp. They scoured the are for any prey, but clouds were beginning to cover the skies. It might rain soon, you could smell it in the air. Crowmask spotted movement under some ferns, and went to investigate. It was a small furry creature, a mouse by the smell. He crept towards it carefully, and as the mouse stepped out to collect an acorn, he made the kill. +1 Mouse
