goobies is going on a temporary hiatus!

apologies for the sudden announcement, please be assured that this was a carefully considered decision! anyways, let’s get right to it!!

since goobies’ release in 2021, there has been an event every other month, which is a whole lot of fun, but it requires a lot of man power and time! putting a pause on new events lets us focus on something new… which has already been in progress for a while, just been on the back burner!

before we get started on the fun new stuff though, goobies will be completing owed work. so if you’ve been waiting for something, please don’t fret, as we’ll be getting that done before anything else!!

since this is a sudden announcement, we're not going into a complete hiatus straight away. the shop and approvals will continue as usual, and artists may still release adopts and host nursery batches at their discretion. at some point however, the shop will close and no new goobies will be released. please note that the approval system will never fully close, so you'll still be able to create customs, grow/transfer goobies, and invoke leniencies.

this hiatus will last an unknown amount of time. unfortunately the projects in the works are big, and i want to make sure they’re perfect before releasing them! thanks for understanding!!

tldr:

• no new events for the time being! goobies is going to be focusing on completing owed work and then a new project! (sorry, no spoilers!!)
  
• the shop and adopts/nursery will continue as usual for now. at some point, the shop will close and new adopts will stop being released.
• the approval system will never close. approvals will still be processed, so you’ll still be able to create customs, transfer/grow goobies, and invoke leniencies.
• the hiatus is indefinite. atm, there’s no eta when goobies will be returning, but rest assured, it will be returning!!

important announcement!

goobies is coming back soon! this is a super exciting announcement and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone's participation in the species and interaction with new features! here's a list of things that are already available as of this post:

• the goosanctuary: this feature allows you to relinquish goobies you no longer connect with and receive an MYO in return corresponding to the traits of the goobie you are surrendering. you can find more info about the goosanctuary here! you can use our new ticket bot in the discord to create a private ticket in the ⁠help-tickets channel or dm riley ♥ (me!) on CS or on discord (@Chortanator)
  
• goostorage: with all the new features and items coming soon, we decided it would be best to create a self-storage option for goobies, goo-offs, and items! goobies will not be discontinuing the main archive/banks, this goostorage is to make trading between users easier. think of it as a way to show off your up for trade goobies, your currently employed goobies, and to keep track of your items, among other things! your goostorage is available to use now, and you can pretty-up your own personal storage as much as you like. the goostorage page is located here!
  
• artist applications: we encourage everyone who wants to apply to do so, as we're eagerly awaiting your designs on our brand new updated lines, complete with new backgrounds for both diabs and agels! you can find a link to the artist search here.
  
• updated lineart: the lineart for the goobie adopt base has been updated, and is available to use as a psd as well!

upcoming features that will be available on the re-opening of goobies:

• updated nursery lines: our nursery lines have gotten a complete overhaul, but aren't quite ready yet!
• jobs: we're introducing a brand new job system with two types of jobs - gathering and crafting jobs. upon re-opening, 2 jobs will be available, newsgoos and archeologoo. they include weekly tasks as well as monthly larger tasks that swap between the two every month and provide larger rewards. several more jobs are in development and will release in the coming months after re-opening
• ingredients: while participating in the new jobs, you may notice that you'll start to pick up little items that don't appear to have a use at face-value. hold on to these, as their purpose will be revealed once crafting jobs are available!
• trait guide: we're currently working on images for each trait so that it's easier to understand and visualize what a trait might look like!
• adopts: adopts will resume again when goobies officially re-opens

we're aiming for a re-opening during the first week of november, so keep an eye out for the celebration, which will include lots of adopts! don't forget to join the discord to sign up for announcement pings and keep up to date with all things goobies! you can join the discord by following this link

sign your goobie up for a job at the job board!
there are two jobs currently available: archeologoo and newsgoos. the monthly rotating event for this month is focused on newsgoos!

participate in the flash MYO event!
everyone in the discord gets an extra free myo, allowing you to make 2 goobies! these myos have unlimited g1 traits, and you can also use items from your bank to add more traits

catch up on the lore!
get a refresher on the lore at the lore library, or read it for the first time!

read the first chapter of the main story webcomic!
read the first chapter of the main story!
at long last, the full goobies story will be shared from the very beginning, be sure to stay tuned as a fresh chapter is posted every month!

create a post on the goostorage page!
while this isn't required, this is where people will look for goobies to draw and write about for jobs, so it's highly recommended! gold coins, ingredients, and equippables will all be self-tracked here!

we have some new items in stock and some lovely new shopkeepers at the goomarket, a consolidated shopping area for all currencies!

with all the excitement around alien goobies, and with the reveal of their alien origins, it only makes sense that we added a trait to reflect that! g1 alienfy is available to use immediately, and can be used on the flash myos!
