"Why are you letting Rushpool go on that raid and not me? I'm perfectly healed up, see?" The tabby stomps his paws on the ground in an attempt to convince the clan deputy of his health, and trying not to wince too noticeably.
Nightspark looks up from her pack at the younger tom, "Hmm, ya certainly can hit the ground... but can ya handle this?" The black and white molly swipes Koimoon's paws out from under him, tackling him to the ground and leaning hard into his shoulder. "This is gonna sound bad, but we need cats who can act on their feet. We're going into a dungeon and ya just aren't ready for that yet. Next time, I promise."
With that, she grabs her bag and sword and whistles for Milnirn to follow. The party sits waiting at the entrance, emotions ranging from excitement to apprehension can be seen from each of them. Koimoon sits alone now, his claws dig into the soft earth.
"Hey, you can count on Nightspark to keep her word." The ginger medicine cat says as he pads over to the dismayed tom. "The best thing you can do for her right now is to heal up as quickly as possible. So you can get back out there, okay?"
"Yeah, I guess. I thought it would be fine by now."
Fawnwhisker chuckles at the honest statement. "You have injuries to all four paws. Maybe if I tied you down for a half-moon you'd be healed...now that's an idea!" He crouches into a pouncing position, tail tip flicking mischievously. "Just stay still, Koimoon, you won't feel a thing."
Koimoon leaps to his feet, "Watch it, you crazy healer! Somebody help, I'm being attacked!"
The two take off into a playful chase around camp, disrupting any late-riser's breakfast, and for just a moment, Koimoon forgot his anger and his pain.
