Prompt: Lilypelt wasn't always blind, it came upon him gradually starting when he was just an apprentice. He will never forget the cold horror in his gut when the healer let him know that he would lose his vision entirely, likely before he was even an adult. He began to eat up every sight he could. He spent hours with the little kits in the nursery, thinking gravely how he may not ever know what his kits would look like. He stayed up to watch every sunset, and woke before dawn to see each sunrise. When he could no longer see it for the clouds in his eyes, he wept.
Many moons passed and he learned to live with his loss. He was able to be of use to the clan under the Guardian of Integrity. He developed a meaningful relationship and eventually was blessed to welcome kits of his own. He remembered the last kits he ever saw those years ago, and mourned that he could never see his own. But, when he was welcomed to the nursery after the birth of his litter, he was delighted. His favorite memory wasn't his last sunset, or chasing a bird, or anything he feared he would miss. It was being able to smell his kits. He could tell by scent how many there were, and their scents were so unique and special to him. Nothing in the world had ever smelled so sweet.
