"That'll keep me warm for a bit..." Asteria said, putting another dry log onto the fire that was incapsulated in the ornate fire place. The Kingdom of Minalia always had the harshest winters, and Asteria lived deep in the basement of the queen's castle. Asteria was only a servant who served the queen's every demand so she did not get luxury treatment. She crawled into her bed, wrapping her thick blanket around her and sitting up. The blazing fire only helped warm her spirits for the most part. Asteria knew it would keep her alive throughout the night until it ran out and the frigid cold woke her up. She began to consider asking the queen if she could move up to a higher part of the castle, but she knew she would be denied as the queen's heart as cold as the winter wind. "For now, the fire will keep me safe."
