Kodak loves this tale because it is one of the few that are humorous rather than scary, although he likes those as well. He is a very imaginative little thing and laughs when he pictures the chaos the goose must have brought about during and after the story.

There's quite a few lessons to be learned from it, and the Disney version put a lot of liberties into it to make it more friendly and digestible for an animated movie.
This is their favorite one, because they too dream of one day being able to find happiness in a strange land. Usually looking to the bright side of things, they still understand that life isn't and will never be easy and free, but what's a little harm in wanting only for a simple little rose?
