- New hippocamp, new marking!
Based on the Rainbow Trout, this marking has two forms.
Homozygous Rainbow Trout, as seen above, has the telltale reddish-pink stripe down the middle of the body with a thinner, lighter line in the middle and black spotting. There is also a silvery-blue roaning that follows the underbelly of the marking itself. This silver shading will never cover the whole underside of the horse, nor will it cover the legs fully.
Heterozygous Rainbow Trout will only have the thickest line in the darker color and the silvery roaning.
This marking will show beneath others such as a Sooty, Jackal, or white markings.
Rainbow Trout - RbtRbt / Rbtrbt(u) (RiverCollectiveCo. sticker reference.)
This stallion also shows the bright, sometimes spooky Eye Glow! This bright glow is emitted from the eyes of the horse, and while all hippocampus' have glowing eyes, some have shown to have a much brighter glow than others. This has shown to pass to other horses, hippocampus or not! Eye glow is considered an rare trait, seeing as even the hippocamps' don't all have such a bright gaze! It does not appear in those with heterochromia. Eye Glow is a dominant trait and will override heterochromia.
As with all Hippocamps, it's raffle time!
