Sunnypaw stretched as she rose from her nest. The air had the slight crispness of leaf fall, a refreshing change from the muggy heat of the past season.

As she left her den the smell of herb patch swirled around her on the breeze. She followed the sent to find her mentor Goatheart already busy tending the herbs.

"Good to see you finally awake sleepypaw." Goatheart purred at her apprentice. " Come over here. Today is the day we harvest the catmint."

Sunnypaw lit up with excitement and all but bounced to her mentor and completely forgetting her mentors teasing. "Are the really ready? We only planted the seeds at the end of new leaf?"

" Yes Sunnypaw they are ready. And we need to harvest them now so we can dry some to use during leaf bare." Goatheart explained, carefully showing the young cat how to cut the stems with her claw and then shred the plant into strip. "These are will be used first. But the whole leaves we will put on the sunny rock above the den to dry."

Sunnypaw watched intently then copied her mentor's actions. But as she spent time working on the catmint her mind started to wander. She felt the cool wind in her fur and the soft warmth of the fall sun. She listened to the gentle song like tone of Goatheart's voice. She knew that she would look forward to this every year. Fall will always be her favorite.

Emberpaw is a huge fan of the spring season. When the snow piles turn to small patches, the empty branches and twigs of tree begin to bud with new life. The prey starts to run more and kits cries fill the air. But also, this is his first time seeing all of this happen, and is loving every second of it.

Claypaw has not yet lived through one complete cycle of seasons, but his favorite experience so far has had to be in the warm sun-season- "summer," as some of the clan's residents refer to it. In this weather, the sun streaming through the trees and thawing of the ground has left the shallow parts of the stream surrounding Knollclan's camp warm enough to swim and splash in, which is one of his favorite pastimes. His denmates might laugh or not understand why he willingly likes getting soaked, but Claypaw maintains that it's an excellent way to cool off when the sun is too harsh. Additionally, the hunting is much easier in the summer season, while more prey animals are out and about. It certainly beats the winter months, in his book. Plus, during the colder seasons, the stream is frozen, and can't be swum in!

Prompt: Maplepaw absolutely loves autumn. She hides in the fallen leaves, and since her fur is practically the same color as the orange leaves on the ground floor, she blends in perfectly! She's a sneaky cat, she loves to stalk, be it a mouse, bird, cat, bug, she will sneak up behind it and attack.

Springpaw hadn't been around to help bury nuts last leaf-fall. Well, he had been, but a mewling little kit could hardly get its paws deep enough in the frosting earth to actually do anything useful (or fun. So, really, he might as well not've been there at all.

But the thaw! The new-leaf thaw was an entirely different story. He couldn't remember ever feeling so warm, for one thing. He'd been born late green-leaf, but it wasn't as if he remembered much of that. His memories mostly consisted of shades of brown and white; this much green all over the place was amazing.

But that wasn't even the best part. Once the ground had defrosted, and springy grass had blanketed the soft soil (which was delightful, his paws bounced so naturally across the morning dew!), it was time. Time to dig up all those nuts!

And, like, all the other stores, but he was mostly excited for all those hidden acorns.

Every leaf-fall, every cat with an appropriate morph (and, well, anybody else who wanted to help out) would bury food to store over the long snow. And every green-leaf, they got to dig it out! Springpaw had honestly never been more excited in his life. In fact, it felt like his entire life had been building up to this moment! Ever since the first rain of the season, although it had disappointingly just been followed by more snow, his paws had been itching to dig through the earth and crack open an acorn.

Though, that part probably just stemmed from the ol' squirrel instincts.
