from the faded paper it's age - and when you inquire about it, she tells you it's
been in her family for generations. her mother sang it to her as a child, and
her mother's mother sang it to her. she tells you she doesn't understand it's
meaning, but she's determined to find it.

This lullaby was written by Aries' mother for him. As a child he was fascinated with the stars and constellations, but he was afraid of the dark. So his mother would sing him this lullaby about his favorite thing to help him sleep at night, reassuring him that he'll never be alone in the dark because, "the stars will shine for you... always".

Loe, hummed the lullaby to themselves as they worked, pencil sketching across the paper as they turned to the pile of friends behind them, soft smile on their lips as the pile rose and fell gently, sleep taking them all for the night. A warm flickering light came from the candle, lighting the small room in a soft pale orange. It was a cold night and only made sense for them to pile together into the lounge to conserve heat.

Soon they'd have the opposite problem when they'd make landing in the warmer tropics, but for now Loe relished in the cold, memories of their father singing soft made up songs to them keeping them awake. They missed him. But leaving would all be worth it in the end.
